Good morning gang.

Weather today in N.E. Indiana is partly cloudy with temps in the low to mid 70's.

Congrats to Bill on getting an almost paid trip to Monterey Sports Car Reunion.

Not much else going on here.

Word of the Day Tuesday, August 13, 2013

jilt\ jilt \, verb;

1. to reject or cast aside (a lover or sweetheart), especially abruptly or unfeelingly.

noun:

1. a woman who jilts a lover.

Origin:

The origin of jilt is uncertain, but it is perhaps from the Middle English gille meaning "lass" or "wench," which was a shortening of the women's name Gillian, a variant of Jill.

Morning guys...I think I'm back in routine I woke up 5 minutes before the alarm went off. We got about a 1/4" of rain last night and it is cool this morning, 58 on my thermometer. Only going for a high today of mid 70's. I opened up the house to let the fresh and cool air in.

Golfed last night in our mens' night. Finished right in the middle of the pack. Came home to watch My Royals put it to the Marlins.

Today I have to take my grandson and another boy to the "city" for some sort of basketball camp. Other than that, not much planned. So much for a clean truck!

Clean trucks are overrated I think TB.....you should see mine.....

Weather continues to be wonderful which we like Brad only get about 10 days of this a year...so we better enjoy...

Regular work to do no big plans...SIL is here but getting ready to head to the big O and get moved in for his school to start soon. Summer is coming to an end....which is too bad since I had to work and I missed it.....

That reminds me of a movie back when I was in High School....called the Endless Summer....about a couple of guys going all over the world looking for a perfect wave to surf....it was a big hit if I recall...anyone remember that?

Have a great day and try to be nice Guru's.....

Howdy! Another picture-perfect day here. The serenity of the commute was only spoiled by the occasional herd of morons roaming the freeways. Should be a great evening for golf tonight.

Have a great day, Gurus!

Hummm, there's not a hotel room available within a 50 mile radius of Monterey so, the hotel that Julian booked will put a roll away bed in that room.............which makes my hotel cost for the event....$15 per nite.

Got a lot to do before Thursday.

Brad, it seems like you are playing a lot of golf here recently.....don't you ever work?

Marcus, YOU should see MY truck. But then again, I'm anal about my vehicles cleanliness.

Endless Summer, it was just on HDNet movies last month. I sat and watched it, it was pretty cool. Don't think I watched it back in the day, but do remember it.

Was up at 06:00 and out the door by 06:45. It's amazing what a difference of 15 minutes can make on the crowded roadways of Miami-Dade County. Made it downtown in less than an hour, unloaded and drove back. Was home by 09:00AM. Enjoying my second cup o'joe, then it's wash and clean the truck. After that I'll cut the grass at the nurseries. We'll see how I feel after that. Could be nap time or could be see what's on the list. Nothing else scheduled for the rest of the week so far, so I'll work off my list.(long list). I haven't washed a car in weeks and Labor Day is coming up fast. I'm gonna do a full detail on each and every vehicle soon. 4 trucks, 5 cars and 4 golf carts. Makes me sweat just thinking about it. Weather has been nice the past few days aside from the 95*+ temps. At least my most hated season is flying buy at a good clip and I'm holding up well. Have a gureat day everyone.

I'll be at the Laguna Seca Golf Ranch on Friday , I've played 18 there before, practice in the racecar on Saturday morning, play 18 in the afternoon, race on Sunday.

However, on Friday, it will look like the second pic.

...LOL....I played Disney once and started off with 3 sleeves of Mickey balls and by the last three holes we were having to find balls in the rough to finish.....bad day at Golf.....several years later I played it again and only used 2 sleeves though....so I felt pretty good about that....

I have owned my truck 5 years and washed it twice. It sits outside all the time and looks 'clean' after a good rain, good enough anyway. But after hauling loads of dirt and/or sod I do wash the bed out (usually).

I found the trailer for the Endless Summer...which is what Tommy is living everyday....

The two co-stars...Robert August and Mike Hynson went two different paths after the fame of the movie. August set up his own Surfboard company and travels the world promoting them and surfing in general. The other guy as it said in People magazine has had an endless bummer. Being in jail for drugs and the selling of drugs many times......and now you know the rest of the story.....

I guess I should clarify my earlier statement. The house, yard, vette, wife's SUV, etc. are kept very clean. On the other hand the truck is strictly a work truck and has less than excellent paint to start with. So while everything else gets a lot of attention the truck does not.

I try to never haul anything in the bed of my truck, that way it stays clean.

I always worry that if I put something in the bed, it may interfere with DNBFS.

Mine has hauled furniture and household stuff. Also, about 50 loads of fill dirt, 16 pallets of sod, 30 railroad ties, lots of 4x6, 2x4s, etc. And enough 4x4s, 2x4s, and 1x6s to build 300ft of privacy fence. Plus a lot more that I am forgetting.

That's something to think about. From the seat your not looking at the rear end. Dammit. Every time I see the butt of a late model Camaro I think about the 2014 Corvette. I won't be buying a 2014 anyway so it's not really an issue other than I have to look at them.

I usta then I quit workin' on the house.

Did you know that you can't steer a half ton when there's a yard of river rock in the bed?

Yea, dat's some Purdy pitchers in dat video game, not enough to make 99% on the owners actually drive the car but they'll have fun staring at it running 55 mph.

THIS is a dash.

Nice.....was the frame bent from an accident or are you just making sure it's all trued up before slapping on parts....?

My 63's frame was so shot I needed to buy another one and found one back east and had it shipped out. When it got here it needed work to make it right before we could proceed....That was back before you could get a variety of frames for them....late 80's...

The car was hit in the front in the 1960's.

When I put the body back down, there was a gap on one side of the radiator core support of 3/4 in.+.
This is unacceptable to me, not going to put that many shims in there, The core support sits on 2 of 8 body mounts.

The shop is going to laser the whole frame and put it back to new for less than $400.

In the pic, it's the front 14 inch measurement that's off.
