Good Morning CGs!

Up and at 'em early. I am hoping o get a jump start on the cleaning and taping that goes on before the whole painting endeavor. Kids and wife are still sleeping so I can work in peace. Work doesn't bother me. I like work. But I like to work uninterrupted...not work for 10 minutes, stop to carry in groceries. Work 10 more minutes, make toast for the kids' breakfast. Work 10 minutes, help someone get their shoes on. Work 10 minutes...you get the point. I will work 12 hours straight if that's what it takes.

Folks are in town this weekend. They are stopping by today so we can go out to dinner to celebrate my dad's birthday. We are just going to a nice little family style restaurant we've been to before with good food. What more can you ask for?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Let's get up and at it guru's. The paint ain't gonna get on the wall by itself. Tape? Tape? Gurus don't need no goddamn tape. Get that brush moving. Dip that roller. There's work to be done. But first ...... a little more coffee.

Everything looks better with a fresh coat of paint...

An eager, but less than bright, young entrepreneur decides to
go into the painting business. So he wanders into the rich part
of town, paint brush in hand, and knocks at the door of a
large house.
"Good day, sir. I was wondering if you had any painting you
need done."
The owner of the house, a rich man by any standard, looks
speculatively at the painter. He perceives a vibrant
entrepreneurial spirit, which reminds him of his own ambition
in his younger days.
"Hmmm. Yes, I think my porch needs a coat or two of paint."
The eager young painter rushes off around the side of the house...
Several hours later, he returns to the front door, his clothes
dripping paint, and knocks again.
"Sir, I've finished! But I have to tell you, that wasn't a porch, it
was a Ferarri."

If BillH was married ..........

House Painting

One March day my wife said that the house needed painting. "It's still winter," I replied. "Forget it."

In April, she told me she had bought some exterior latex. I said that it was still too cold to paint.

In May, I heard her outside one day yelling for help, and we set up the ladder so she could start painting. Then I went inside to get a beer. As I sat in a lawn chair not far from where my wife was working, a neighbor passed by. "Aren't you ashamed?" she asked. "How can you sit there drinking beer while your wife is up on a ladder painting the house?"

Glancing up at my wife, I responded, "She doesn't like beer."

Good Morning Gurus!!! I had a telepathic connection that indicated you all wanted to see some photos of my Miata!!

Well you guys mostly hit every reason for my non-participation right on the head. I mostly try to keep up with things on FB as I only have enough time between work and fun to do so much social networking online!! LOL

The weather here has been pretty crappy and the Corvette has only been out and about a couple times since the OC Boardwalk cruise back in November. It needs a re-tune or something. Last night I did take it out to the grocery store to pick up a few things and it was idling high and running pig rich.

Yah - that JOB... keeping me very busy these days. Gonna get busier too. I'm now officially Project Manager and am studying to take the PMP exam the end of Jun or early July. As Tommy stated yesterday, the commute is not better, but we are entertaining the idea of moving closer to my work. Id rent out the house here in Chesapeake Beach and probably just downsize to a smaller rental house closer to work.

The beer brewing continues to be rewarding! I have won two competitions in the past six months. One for an IPA and the other recently for a Christmas Spiced Ale that may be featured and brewed large scale by Widmer Brothers. My Gingerbread Spiced Ale is one of five beers that made it to this level and will be judged this week. The winner of this round will go to New Hampshire to brew their beer large scale for a special release. Timing is not so good for a spiced ale, as we are on the cusp of spring and summer beer brewing already. Anyhow its fun and good to know that my beer can actually be recognized outside of this household!

I will also mention, for nothing less than sharing or fueling a debate as I usually can... I have lost 70lbs since last October and still slowly losing a pound or so every other week. Slow going now, but still working. All I have really done different now is I have started eating real foods. No boxed foods, nothing with added sugars and no enriched grain products. I have embraced whole fat foods and reduced carbohydrates. I get most of my 80-100 carbs per day from vegetables and of course a few beers on the weekends. I have essentially gone NSNG, except I won't give up my beer!! After I lost the first 35-40lbs I started picking up my activity levels again and started jogging and riding my bike again. Really have not felt better in many years!!

I hope I didn't put you to sleep but, since Matt dredged me up from FB last night I thought I'd stop by and say hi. I will have to say that you guys are very consistent and I do miss the morning banter. But I just don't have time in the mornings to get online, and by the time I get home in the evening I'm pretty shot.

Take care and hope it soon starts warming up for all of us!!

Greetings! Every Saturday since the beginning of February has been 10-30 degrees below normal. Today is no exception, so the snow depth going to stay put. Nothing big on the agenda today, maybe I'll go around and fill nail holes in the baseboard trim I installed a couple weeks ago. We're going to a comedy club tonight, should be fun.

Good to see you, Don - congrats on all fronts!

Enjoy your Saturday, Gurus.

Happy birthday to your dad, Matt. and 70 pounds gone, wow Don! Congrats for that! And for the beer accomplishments - wish we all were where we could sample them!
Had the one in the nursing home at the hospital again - they turned her loose yesterday so she's back at 'the home' as she calls it. Permanent foley in place this time. Bladder is stretched beyond normal working ability and more tears had developed. Going to see her today, then pick up a couple of canopy top sunbeds given to me and I'll make myself a stand up booth for here at home, then run a couple of errands and pick up the house. Have a friend (signed in here some as bearcat) from New Mexico coming in for a visit tomorrow evening. Have a good Saturday y'all....

Spring cleanup in the yard is kicking my ass. I'm over halfway done with weeding the nursery. Another 6 to 8 hours left cleaning up back there. I can't complain too much . Sue and the crew maintain 2 1/2 acres and all I have to do is 3/4ths on an acre of nursery and house plants. It's how I get my exercise. Bend and stretch, reach for the sky .....

Good (barely) morning all. Nice to hear from you, Don.

As decent as it gets in March in the Philadelphia area today - partly sunny and already 55 degrees.

We got up relatively late this morning, but still managed to run about 3.4 miles: the Broad Street Run (a 10 mile race) is less than 45 days away ...

... heading out shortly (in Louis) to our beautiful (of course! ) goddaughter's second birthday party.

Hey guys. it was a busy day. Got up late, then Rosie was ready to go to the "city". While we were there got a call from my nephew asking where I was. I told him "shopping in the city, where are you?" "Sitting in your driveway", was his answer. So we decided to meet up for lunch. It was good to see them. Got home and headed up to the school to see if the other shop teacher had done the gate for me. He had so I started working on that. Came home and am ready for church.

Don, it so nice to hear from you. Congrats to you as well. Rain? We'd take some of that.
