Good morning gang.

Looks like it will be a nice day here in N.E. Indiana.
Should have sunny skies and the temps should reach the low 20's.

Word of the day is mackle.

Today is NATIONAL HAT DAY

Hang on to your hats and celebrate in style on January 15, with millions of others across the nation, as it is the annual celebration of National Hat Day.

Hats may be worn for safety and protection, religious reasons, ceremonial reasons, warmth or fashion.
In the Middle Ages, hats were an indicator of social status.
In the military, hats may denote ones nationality, branch of service, rank and/or regiment.
A Thebes tomb painting depicts one of the first pictorials of a hat . The painting shows a man wearing a conical straw hat.
Structured hats for women began to be worn in the late 16th century.
Millinery is the designing and manufacture of hats.
The term “milliner” derived from the city of Milan, Italy. The best quality hats were made in Milan in the 18th century.
Millinery began as traditionally a woman’s occupation, as the milliner not only created hats and bonnets but also chose lace, trim and accessories to complete an outfit.
In the middle of the 1920′s, to replace the bonnets and wide-brimmed hats, women began to wear smaller hats that hugged their heads.

HAPPY NATIONAL HAT DAY.

NATIONAL HAT DAY HISTORY

Within our research, we were unable to find the creator and the origin of National Hat Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

NATIONAL STRAWBERRY ICE CREAM DAY

National Strawberry Ice Cream Day is a food holiday celebrated each year on January 15.
( National Ice Cream Day is celebrated on July 1)

Strawberry ice cream is made by blending either strawberries or strawberry flavoring with eggs, cream, vanilla and sugar. Food coloring is often used to give it the pink or light red hue.

Dating back to at least 1813, strawberry ice cream was served at the second inauguration of James Madison.

Strawberry ice cream is one of the three flavors in Neapolitan ice cream along with vanilla and chocolate.

Strawberry cheesecake ice cream and strawberry ripple ice cream are variations of this feature.

Have fun celebrating National Strawberry Ice Cream Day by trying one of the following “tried and true” recipes:

Good Morning CGs!

Should be a little warmer here today, might hit 31 which would be nice. Still improving over the next couple of days as well.

About a week ago I sent in a MAC ratchet to be warrantied (no drivers around here) and yesterday in the mail I received back a brand new flex head ratchet replacement. I was impressed with the speed of their mail in customer service. I haven't used it yet, but it looks like a nice piece. The only thing is I think I want a ratchet with more teeth so I'm considering getting rid of this one for a snap on 80 tooth (pretty much industry standard). One listing I saw said the MAC was 30 tooth, but that seems low. I think it's 60 tooth. Might have to take it apart to see. I might lubricate it as well to see if it's less notchy. It's made in the USA. Here is the link (doesn't list number of teeth)

http://www.mactools.com/en-us/Ratchet ... -Flex-Bent-Handle-Ratchet

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Sounds like you've been having fun playing with your tool, Matt. lol I'm off to the cardiologist this morning and this afternoon the dermatologist. Knock out 2 in one day. Playing with lawn and landscape $#!+ right now. Maybe start straightening out the garage and sheds when I finish with that. (not today) I have to go play with my tools too and get them better organized. I now have 3 sheds and a two car garage so there is no reason I can't put everything in it's place. Well, I can think of a few reasons not to but none the less, there's room for improvement.

Mafufuo! Been busy since the git-go. Gonna be balmy today, it might get up to freezing. Practically tropical. If I had some strawberry ice cream and set it outside today, it might actually melt.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Don't forget to count the teeth on your ratchets.

I'll be cutting steel and welding up a set of racecar stands.

And waiting for another Corvette parts delivery.

Morning guys...busy day so far, early morning meeting and then busy in the shop with projects. It's a good problem to have, keep those kids busy.

It's supposed to be nearly 60 today, too bad I have to be inside.

I couldn't understand a word that girl sang, but I sure got the meaning, she sure has a voice.

Another b-ball game tonight, GS #2 today.

Productive day today - ordered my Corvette Corral Ticket for Sebring. Come on March!

Temps have been pretty decent around here, hanging in the 20s to low 30s. It's winter, I can deal with those temps.

Later this evening I will tune in to the Barrett Jackson auction for a couple hours and watch a lot of cars I can't afford get sold. I wish I was going to be home to watch it on Saturday, some really cool stuff going on the block then. Things like Cadillac LMP, '67 Indy STP Turbine, '69 'cuda Fireball 500 car and a bunch more.

Every time I go to the Everglades. They're anywhere that water is. A couple of years ago we had one at the gate of the nursery. Oddly he was hunting for a kitty cat dinner. We have about a half dozen cats there.

Games over, GS team lost again. But the GS came in and drilled a couple of treys, just not enough to make a big difference. It was a gorgeous day here, 58 when I went over to the gym for the games and no, or very little wind. Supposed to be this way for several days now.

Gris, that is one HUGE mofo croc....SH!T! That old Winchester is so cool. Heck, that picture of Clint was just taken last year wasn't it?
