Good Morning CGs!

Watched the local fireworks last night from the front yard. Kids enjoyed it. We have a pretty good view so we don't have to drive anywhere which is nice. Today we have a BBQ at a cousin's house which should be a nice time. Weather should finally be warm which will be a nice change.

I'll leave you with a new 4th of July quote I heard:

Remember: Fireworks may last one day, but fingers are forever.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

SUNNY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING. A GOOD CHANCE TO DO SOME STUFF IN THE YARD BEFORE IT WARMS UP. THE CHEROKEES ARE READY TO CELEBRATE THE FOURTH. I'LL JUST SIT ON THE FRONT PORCH THIS EVENING AND WATCH EVERYBODY BURN MONEY WHILE I DRINK A BEER OR SO.

"Einstein said that if you could run around a tree at the speed of light you could probably sodomize yourself. Or, you could save yourself the effort and just vote for Hillary at the next election."

Morning gurus.....Happy Birthday USA! Most all got up early to do the walk/run. Rosie will walk 5k, GS will run the 5K (6years old), GD %3 will run 5k (8years old) abd GD #2 will run 10K (12 years old) and will probably place in her age group. They didn't get the runing thing from me. They all should be home pretty soon. The parade starts at 10 so we'll head over there shortly after they get back.

Yup, just as I write this they pull in the drive.

That's funny Bob.......nice day here, #2 daughter made it in and we are all eating waffles this morning......I love a good waffle....

Massive amounts of red meat will be consumed later in the day as we hoist a few N/A's to all who have served to keep this great country free......Thank you!

Had the City fireworks last night and we always go...its not a bad show. We also will sit on the deck and watch those around the area burn up hundreds of dollars for our entertainment......nice!

Tom were you at the game in K.C. last night? That would have been a fun one........

Light em up Guru's.......but don't put your eye out..........

It's nice to have visitors. Fortunately it's for just a short time. House will return to somewhat normal tomorrow afternoon ........ Sigh .......... of relief.

It's funny to watch yourself turn into a grumpy ol' man. Brings back memories of my grandfather.

Happy Independence Day.

Happy 4th, Gurus! My son's friend should be here shortly to haul away the old BBQ. I hope he brought reinforcements, it's gotta weigh 250 lbs. Should be fun. Later we're going to a friend's pool party, and then going to watch fireworks.

Have a safe and festive holiday!

Phew, we got the beast muscled down the deck stairs, and off they went. It is very steamy out there, glad that's over with.

That was a great game last night. Well, except for the end :-P

Home from the parade, the best part was the Model A club and the Corvette Club. Love those old model A's. Corvette club had a good showing, about 30 cars from C2 through C7's. One of my favorites was the 96 GS w/red interior.

Good afternoon, all.

Rainy today in the Philadelphia area, so it's good that we took the 'vert out yesterday.

Tomorrow (Sunday), I drive down to North Carolina for the wake/funeral of one of my first cousins. Cathy was born with a host of issues, but led what I see as a blessed life. She passed on Monday—she was born about three and a half months before I was.

I'll be heading down in the 2012 coupe, which Ivelis has kindly lent me. Cathy loved her rides in the Corvettes (she sampled all three) so it will be fitting that I drive one.

Thanks, Tom. I do think it's accentuated by the fact that she was almost exactly my age.

Well, they didn't pull it off tonight, maybe they'll get them tomorrow.

We had chili cheese nachos and a foot-long brat for supper at the "K". We could not have asked for a more beautiful night for a ballgame.

Leaving pretty early in the morning, not sure if I'll check in before we leave or not. If not, I'll check in later. Planning a stop at Mid-America Motorworks in Effingham, ILL. And then on to Fort Wayne, IN and hopefully meet up with CaptMike. I'll let you know when we get closer what time, Mike.
