Not many pics since there was nothing worth taking pics of.

Attendance was way down, wore my Guru shirts to help promote.

Lived dangerously, drove home on bald tires only to discover that halfway home they were down to the cords!

More people hate me now due to an incident on the highway(I may or may not discuss that later).

Just J ran a cat over on a backwoods cruise then clipped a 6 x 6 pice of wood and tore up his suspension.

Almost had a big fight between the Chicago and FLA groups and a little bit of PA and WV mixed in.

After I upload pics, I'll hopefully remember to post some.

I wonder why attendance was down? Do you think gas prices kept the wealthier C5/C6 owners away?

Do you think it was perceptional attitudes towards the new CF?

The fight sounds like the place is spinning apart.... sad, really.

I would say most of the problem is gas prices....putting everyone in a bind. But, I also think that most of the veterans of CF have moved to other sites and there are a bunch of newbies over there now.

Crab Run is not happening this year, at least mine isn't.
I've made quite a few more enemies at CF and a lot of them are going on my crab trip that they stole from me.

The real one will be later this year. Details will follow once I work them out.

One of the Chicago crew mentions that scenario in a post over there in the Great Lakes section (Thread is "I feel ashamed of our group")

There's even some snickering going on in the thread between other groups, especially two posters who just seem to get after each other no matter what the thread/issue.

Take a look, it's a little enlightening to the happenings going on.

I have come to a conclusion... I was pissed earlier as I got a better grasp of the so-called "unity cruise," but as I have been reading this thread and thinking, I really don't care what they do.

Let them implode. It's not my concern. We don't need to exist based on their drama. They are resorting to some nasty tactics, but I refuse to sink to their level.

The gas price excuse was pure bull. Some I talked to mentioned that. It was more about the IB takeover that kept attendance down.

In the CF meeting there were maybe a half dozen folks who have been on the forum for more than two years, most were brand new members who know nothing of the history.(not that it would've stopped them)

The fighting was over the placement of chairs to hold parking spots. There were so many empty parking spots all over that there wasn't a need to hold any spots.

The drag strip was the only normal part of the whole event, that and the run to the group photo.

I've learned over the years to stop worrying about what others think of me. Maybe it's time I really start to not worry. I just can't help being a good guy though, but most over there don't deserve to be associated with me or any of the fine folks we have here.

I am not surprised, actually. I didn't want to suggest that was why the CI was weak, but it was my #1 thought.

Oh, well. A new crew is taking over and will never know how great that place was. I wonder how tight knit the new crew will be? I mean, fighting over parking spaces? Jeez, guys, I mean, if you want to fight over parking spaces, wait until the CI is fully stocked with people.

The corporate culture is taking over. It's much like an ugly, unwanted divorce. We were unceremoniously dumped - and didn't want it. It will take a bit of adjustment. And for you, it's even worse.

It would almost be ironic if Troy joined here... Out of disgust from what hath been done to his creation.

The only thing that place has going for it is a large flow of traffic. We should all get the cling on decals and make it a point to go hand them out. It wouldn't take much if everyone participated. I know I can hand out 25 of them.

Why worry (or care) about brand X or the cruise in? For now, let the true colors flow and see what happens next.

It's a waste of time and energy to even discuss it (IMO).

The simple fact of the matter is, brand X will probably live on (despite it's best efforts otherwise), simply because of those you mentioned earlier. The newbies. They'll be where we were and they'll never have known the real forum or it's backbone

They'll cowtow to the reich and and view it as "normal."

The CI will likely remain, and maybe next year, there will be more people from here and other places than brand X;)

If you want something to do, I'd suggest promoting the site at every opportunity. Let it grow at it's own pace. Slow growth is usually permament growth.

Remember, the mods and admins at brand X are so concerned about what everyone else is doing, that they feel the need to sign in anonymously and try to start crap This is a good sign that we're doing something right and that they really do consider us a threat.

But again, rather than dwell on being a threat or getting even, lets dwell on making this site better day by day and let nature take it's course.

Hell, Ive even seen an increase in traffic at the CAC and a couple of others that have been slow as mud for a long time. The times they are a changin' boys!

Hey! Maybe LMFAO will chime in again. We haven't seen his shiny bald head pop up since his last rant

Enjoy the ride and remember, we're all part of history in the making

Shadow hits it.

This is EXACTLY why I felt there was room for a 4th full service Corvette themed social networking site. People obviously were not happy with the other three, so it was time for a change.

We are the mechanism for that change.

Let's work it, gang!
