Haha - I couldn't figure out what the hell was going on at first...I saw Blackie's account with a different name. Now it brings back the old memories like the one you posted! HA!

Matthew

ps - in my opinion - any mod can be done tastefully or tackily. I'd have to see them to make up my mind. I'm leaning toward tacky, on first instinct.

The ones on the C5 are for seeing when you step out of the car, a courtesy light they're not on when travelling.

The one's on the C4 are for show.

Not my thing.

So, let us define "Ricer Mods" then...

Out of proportion rear wings?

Undercar neon?

Interior neon?

Video game system and LCD monitors?

20" and larger rims?

Spinners?

Flagrant use of manufacturer stickers?

Oversized mufflers?

Is there a C4 Carbon Fiber hood?

Plenty of C4 guys running NOS, right?

I'm more asking than anything else. If anything is somewhat tastefully done, or done with attention to detail, then I suppose I can appreciate it. I wouldn't necessarily DO it, but I could appreciate it.

As these cars get easier to afford, the folks who can buy them may take less than traditional routes to customize them. There are worse things a person could do with their time and money.

Yes, type R stickers, Large wings, improperly lowered suspension parts ect....but how is Nitrous a ricer mod? Now a purge system that runs strictly off C02 bottles is a ricer mod but drag racers use nitrous to...and I know some vettes have it equipped.

In that case, I recommend a 350* oven for 20-25 minutes until tender in the middle, lightly seasoned with salt, pepper, and garlic. You can rub the exterior with a light coat of olive oil to prevent burning.

Yes, some do, and alot of guys have fun drag racing their Vettes, but it is a Sports car and that implies turning right and left. Nos only lasts a few seconds and that is not something that is very usefull for a 30 minute session at that local road race track day event.

I don't remember where I got it, but it dates back to 2002. What cracks me up mostly on these cars is stickers. Most of them are really crappy parts like Tein shocks and Takada harnesses.

So I should take off the stickers I just put on my rear hatch for my new Tein shocks and my Takada harness? Damn it.

And whats with all the factory rice now?

And "race inspired" advertisements?

What does that mean exactly? The engineers were forced to watch a race on TV before designing the car. How can an SUV has race inspired suspension?

Low SUV=Race inspired suspension?

SRT4=Street Racing Technology 4?

You guys are awesome.

I like LEDs when done right. I've added custom LED turn signals and "third" brake light to my bike in an under tail that I made myself from fiberglass. About 40 10mm LEDs total. So as you can see, I like LEDs.

It really just comes down to your tastes and not going over board. I think the LEDs that were put on that C5 was an ingenious idea. It wouldn't surprise me to see this on cars in a few years from the factory.

I also liked the gills.

To each his own but don't be upset if no one likes what you've done(I'm speaking in general terms, not to you NC). Does that mean you should change it so others like it? Depends on if you want everyone else to make your car yours or not.
