I am going to Blowerworks tomorrow to work on my tune...

Greg has custom made front end components for a C4. He has five sets left, he used to sell them for $2K a set.

I haven't seen them, but I will take pics of them tomorrow.

From what I understand it includes control arms, bushings, spindles, etc...

I have to upgrade brakes anyway I was thinking if enough people want them we can offer him something on the entire five sets, and get them cheap. They are just sitting on his shelf

Central Coaster's thread about his rear suspension made me think of this for the front.

That's what I wanted to hear, if enough people were interested in taking them, I'd take them off the shelf and get pics. If no one cares, I won't bother to get more info.

I was telling Greg about my new brakes, he mentioned he had a five sets and they really help front end handling. "Especially over 120MPH"....

I was thinking of CC and other guys who autocross.

Will check tomorrow.

first off, CC's car has got to be able to go over 120... and KPH does not count.

Sounds neat, tho.

Well, I was over at Gregs today...

The parts were up on a shelf buried.

The few parts I saw, were really nice.

I'm thinking if we get 5 people we can get these sets for $500-750 each based on my conversations with him.

This is full FRONT AND REAR suspension. The parts are either chrome or anodized blue. NICE STUFF

The only thing not included with the kits are the rod ends, however, part numbers are provided for that.

I have hard copy brochures he gave me, but no pics for now. The stuff was buried on the shelves, and have been sitting there for 10 years, unsold.

Greg may have a lot of C4 gold buried there....still looking.

BTW< greg is digging them out and I'll get pics soon.

Upper and lower control arms, bushings, all the hardware, and four rear suspension links as far as I can tell.

Wow, sounds like a good deal for a group purchase. Unfortunately it's a little more than what I need. I'd like to see some pics, though.

Cool, but first you need to find enough people interested.

Tom wasn't even able to sell more than a few rear kits on here.

I know, it's five sets....and it's a great deal, if I can get him to $500, I'll take one, and I don't even want one. I hope Bogus will take one, that leaves three. Not really a group purchase as there are no more, this is it.

They were selling for $2000 when he was selling them.....

And, it's front and rear.

How much were tom's setup for rear only?

They're currently priced @ $350 for the trailing arms & $225 for the camber rods (~ $475 total).

I will be offering a toe rod kit shortly which should be about $350 as well.

Hey, I have the brochure page that I will scan in when I get home.

The kit include 8 links for the rear suspension. The four that go parallel to the leaf spring and the four dog bone pieces.

The front has a couple pieces, I have to look more closely at to see where they fit.

The bars for the back are blue anodized.

I will scan in the pick I have when I get home and post it.

The kits will fit ALL year C4s.

I am working late tonight, going to dinner with customers. Won't be home till after 11 so don't expect to see them till tomorrow evening.

No control arms. There's a couple front end pieces, I have to look at the paperwork and see where they go.

I hope to post tonight depending on how much I drink or not or tomorrow.

This stuff isn't a latest fad.

Racers have been doing these modifications for years.

I'll wait and see, but if there's not a-arms, then it sounds like I'm already set with the items I bought from astock.

I don't think my approval has anything to do with it. I asked what the proven benefits are. Jsup jumped up with ideas of a group purchase and all that, so I ask "whats it do for you?"

And I've used stuff like this before on other cars, at one time I had pretty much the whole Spohn line on my car and a tubular addjustable ladder bar. LCA relocation/reangle brackets, and all that. I got a pretty good idea what was "proven" to help traction and what "just looked pretty".

So, for folks who have used this stuff on C4's, what's the proven benefits?

What components make what changes?

On Fbody cars, the two biggest things were the lower control arm angle - changing that to fix wheel hop, and an adjustable ladder bar to help with traction. A lot of the tubular stuff was more for show. At one point I ran a tubular front k-frame, tubular control arms, heim joints/bumpsteer, etc. While helpful for weight reduction, it did nothing for handling.

So seeing that my C4 already handles 10 times better than any fbody I owned, but has less traction than any fbody I ever owned while still having much larger tires (11" vs 8") can someone tell me what these parts will do?

It will help keep the rear end planted over uneven surfaces. Tight or not doesn't matter, as any driver worth his salt will be near the edge of traction on every turn, and probably clipping the curbing.

I'll post some feedback when I head back to the track. It's finally cooling off out here so I'll sign up pretty soon.

As for the front, the only major problems I see are the sway bar ends, and the spring contact point on the control arms.

And as I understand wheel hop, it's a result of being oversprung or underdamped. A binding suspension is basically oversprung on small movements no matter how soft your spring is, so rod ends would probably help somewhat there, and with weight transfer, but if I was only drag racing, I'd spend my money elsewhere. Actually I wouldn't be running IRS to begin with.

They eliminate sticktion, yes that's an actual word, which means you'll get better weight transfer too. Which is why drag cars do it. So, they make the suspension behave better all around, including launching.

I still don't understand what all is being offered. I've read 'some front end pieces' and then is quite a bit of mention on the Banski rear end stuff, but no mention of whether or not Greg's stuff has any rear end components other than, "rear bars."

I'd like to know exactly what all is coming in the package before trying to make a decision.
