Greetings! Another dreary day (getting tired of that), but they say it may burn off and be sunny and 45 later, and 50 tomorrow. Naturally the bottom is scheduled to drop out of the thermometer after that. Ick.

Have a good one, yawlz.

THINGS LIKE THAT ARE REALLY EERIE JOHN---
ONE AFTERNOON AT WORK I GOT A SUDDEN URGE TO GO SEE MY MOTHER IN THE NURSING HOME. I WENT BY ON MY WAY HOME; SHE SEEMED OK, MORE "AT HERSELF" THAN USUAL, AND KNEW WHO I WAS. THAN NIGHT AT SUPPER THEY CALLED AND SAID SHE WAS DEAD.
SURE AM GLAD I WENT.

SOUNDS LIKE IOWA IS A GREAT PLACE TO BR HOSPITALIZED :-)

It's never easy John to lose a friend/family member. Prayers said.

Well, we just got home from the 'city'...well actually 20 miles east of the 'city'. I (Rosie and I) volunteered to go pick up our priest who flew into the 'city' after a 6 week trip home (the Philippines) to see his ailing mother...she passed during his stay. This ended a 36 hour journey for him. As it turned out several parishioners came over to see him home. I think he was surprised and happy to see us there waiting....well, he was expecting me, the others not so much. He was pretty talkative on the way home, but you could tell he was tired. He made a comment that it was noon Tuesday in Manila already, so at least he gained some time. It will take him a while to recoup from his jet lag.

Just a a letter from Orbitz about an information security breach and I'm in the group. Third major breach of my info in the last several years. I've already got monitoring from the other sources. One of them provided 10 years of monitoring. Wonderful. I just love technology. Not like I don't have enough to pay attention to already. Like my friend says ....

My very sick Corvette friend that I mentioned visiting last week passed away this morning.

Even before I knew, I could sense it. I did a quick Google search of recent obituaries an hour or two before I got the email from the woman who is the unoffical "den-mother" of our local NCRS chapter. I am so grateful that I got to see him last week and tell him some things that I believe he needed to know.

I'll post an appreciation at some point, but i'll probably be kind enough not to post in the daily chat thread and get everybody all down.

Just back from a 5 hour stint at the nursery. Let's see what the rest of the week brings. Dog training at three. Everyday seems to be a full day.

Well we got a lot more work to do....

We should have tested the car before taking it to a big race. There just was not enough practice time before eliminations started to get everything sorted out.

On my one practice run, I had problems with the nitrous switch not touching the carb linkage... not even sure how that got messed up because it lined up and worked fine for 2yrs before this.

The nitrous was working in 1st round eliminations and I cut a great light but I could tell the car wasn't pulling very hard and he quickly caught me.... I glanced at the AF reading and it was just off the map lean... I initially thought my Wide Band O2 was messed up because it was reading 14.7 going down the track.... but I went a head, lifted and coasted to the end... I could tell something was wrong and he was already past me so the race was over, no reason to hurt something.

We went back and changed some stuff on the fuel pressure and made a test pass but again the AF was 14.4 before the sensor burned up and the controller gave me the error code for voltage out of range.... So I had to lift early or risk hurting the engine.

We again tried to put more fuel to it and make another test pass between rounds but again we were unsuccessful and the AF was 14 something before the controller gave the voltage range error code again..... No doubt the heat burned the O2 sensor up.

So we are pulling the intake/nitrous kit off it tonight and sending it out to a different company to get fixed... I have had a lot of tuning issues with this kit from day one and it even cost me a set of pistons a few years ago.... It's just time to move on and let someone else take a swing at fixing it.

The engine was running fine when we loaded up to go home and again when I unloaded it the next morning..... but we are still going to leak down test it just to make sure.

Hope to have the intake and kit back in a few weeks and then we will do some more testing.

We did have a good time at the race. Middle Ga Motorsports Park puts on a good show. The track was prepped very good and the they kept the show interesting and constantly moving with numerous grudge races and test passes between elimination rounds.

For sure we will get this sorted out and be back.
Will

Inspection done. Relatively painless. Show Title and drivers license, give them $20 they look run the VIN and then verify it on the vehicle. 10 minutes tops. Now I can go spend some more money transferring the title and register it to my name.

That's funny, Tommy. One day I'll be there.

Yesterday I was thinking about TB's 91* out there as I was freezing here in the 30s. Brrr. I'm ready for spring, apparently spring doesn't know it's time to come out yet.

I bought a vehicle out of state and there was no VIN inspection here when I brought it back. But the PD will do a VIN inspection for a in state purchase that's being titled out of state free of charge. Interesting that they charge for that by you.

Tommy, back to hammocks...years ago we had one. It wasn't nearly as nice as the one in the ebay link. All you bought was two metal connectors for the base and then you bought 4x4 posts from Home Depot and cut them to the length that you wanted. Might be more budget friendly for your extras.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Welllllll......... I see its rainy and cold out.....I guess that is ok.....we need the rain.....but I prefer warm rain...... I must press on.....there is seed to deliver and chemicals to get...... Farming you know.....

We have to do that also Tee......if you buy a vehicle from out of state. I had to do that with the Grand Sport when I bought it....... I wonder if they ever catch a car or truck that has been stolen? I'm sure they have.....

Keep your eye on the Prize today Guru's.......

Morning guys...I'm up and around. The sidewalks were moist, not wet, but obviously we had a little bit of moisture.Supposed to be in the upper 50s today. It's a bit foggy, but the wind isn't blowing....yet. Yesterday it began to warm up in the afternoon, so I spent a few hours cleaning, claying and Rejexing the Cadillac. It really looks good.

Today I have already got some cabinet doors ordered and getting ready to take the new pickup down to the sheriffs' office to be inspected. Beings I bought it out of state it has to go through that process.....it's just a way to justify our sheriffs dept and a revenue booster. I tried to do it last week, but didn't have the title yet. Title came in the mail Saturday, so I'll take care of that today. Also going to start on the demo of the bathroom for the client....not looking forward to that much, but it has to be demoed before I can put it back together....which reminds me, I need to order some materials for the cabinets.....better get that done.

Later guys.

Hidey-ho! The weather geniuses were predicting something like the end of the world this morning, but it was just a light dusting of snow that melted on the roadways, so no biggie. Spring is welcome to make an appearance - I'm ready.

Have a good day, all!

Tommy that hammock stand is identical to the one I got not too long ago - we got the 15' one tho. I bought a 'double' hammock for it - so far - love the thing! Why didn't I do that sooner???

And that hammock stand looks like a nice deal, Tommy. It'll be a while before I think about hammocks :P

Good afternoon, all.

In the old cars being driven category, I was leaving one of our local Giant supermarkets at the same time as a gentleman was leaving in his 1958 Edsel Ranger. Two observations:

1) He was wearing a fedora

2) I don't think the Edsel had power steering—it took a substantial amount of effort and time to get it turned

Worked on the box truck and got all but one of the marker lights working. Hung the fire extinguisher in the cab. Should be good till I get stopped for the next random safety inspection. Seeing that I've never been pulled over for one my guess is I should be good for awhile. Now I'm home. Time to work with the dogs in week 6 of K-9 training. (I'm learning pretty well.)

I bought a hammock stand on ebay that I put together this morning. I have 4 hammocks and had nothing to hang them on. Being conservative on what I would spend I picked this one up. I think it was a good price. I did look at some over the past couple of months. Finally pulled the trigger.

Beautiful and sunny here most of the weekend, was unexpected as it was predicted to be overcast. Today due for rain but so far none. No complaints. House is relatively clean ,all except for the dog and I'm passing on that one. Was going to clean and get pool house ready and turned on water and have a busted pipe. Turns out when bf blew out lines, the shower was in the 'hot' position and there's no hot water out there so the cold water remained in the line. Figures. Pool is drained and new liner is due to install any day. It's dreary out and I think since I have the house to my self for a while, me and the dog might settle in for an afternoon nap. Happy Sunday y'all.
Sounds like you have a great plan for things Gris, and a nap to boot.
Matt has his goodies lined up as well on some potential tool acquisition. I ended up with a wall mount PPG cabinet, a 1/4, 3/8 and 1/2" ratchet/socket/wrench set, a makita electric drill and a few other odd and end things from our shop clean out this last go around, along with a metal top pub table, 2 bar stools, my snap together large plastic shelf back, bf ended up with a rolling metal Tshaped table, the drawers that all the body clips and mess was in, plus some aluminum diamond plate and a few steel pieces.

Howdy! Nice and sunny, and not particularly warm. That will be replaced overnight by rain/snow/wintry mix/snow/rain/ick. Hopefully the remaining snow will disappear sometime before the next epoch.

Have a good one, yawlz!

No meetings necessary

He owns a shop. He had to buy everything as a package to get some bigger shop tools he wanted. He's also one of my closest friends, so not really a big deal to help him out.

Yaaaaawn...Stretch......Morning guys. A good sleep in this morning. The weather has made a dramatic reversal, it's cold and windy this morning. We slept with a window open the last two nights....that may have had something to do with the good sleep. They say no chance for moisture until, maybe, Tuesday.

Not a lot planned for today. Headed to the 'city' for groceries in a bit. Tomorrow I'll start on the bathroom I've been putting off for some time. Not to overdo it for the first day back in.

K-State ran into a buzz saw last night, just couldn't get things going. I've got my fingers crossed that KU will do better today..... not that I am a big follower of any of the teams, just like to see state schools do well.

Matt, I'm guessing, helping a buddy with his tool acquisitions is almost as good as your own. Gris, sounds like you've got a plan there.

Have a great day.

Good Morning CGs!

Well the predicted snow storm of 6" Friday night dumped exactly 0.00" on us. No complaints there. It did bring some cold weather. No 91* like TB, more like low 30s.

My buddy sent me some pictures last night. He ended up buying a couple of large older tool chests full of tools (mostly high end). He asked for my help going through them for value, helping sell, etc. No doubt a couple might migrate into my box.

Hope everyone has a great day!

IT'S CLOUDY, COOL, AND BREEZY IN THE NATIONS; THE CHEROKEES ARE WAITING FOR THE RAIN.

THE NATIONAL SOCIALIST MEDIA HAS CERTAINLY PULLED OUT ALL THE STOPS TO PROMOTE THE CHILDREN'S CRUSADE TO DISARM THE DEPLORABLES. DC, LONDON, PARIS, I WONDER WHO ORGANIZED THESE "SPONTANEOUS DEMONSTRATIONS"? THE LOGISTICS MUST HAVE BEEN QUITE CHALLENGING. AND ALL DONE BY SCHOOL KIDS DOWN TO KINDERGARTEN LEVEL, OF COURSE. AND WHO PAID FOR ALL THIS, TRAVEL, LODGING, FOOD? A DEMONSTRATION MARCHES ON ITS STOMACH, YOU KNOW.
AND IT MAY EVEN BE WELL TO REMEMBER THE FATE OF THE ORIGINAL CHILDREN'S CRUSADE: MOST WERE SOLD AS SLAVES TO THE MOSLEMS.

AS TO THE ANNIVERSARY, I DECIDED TO FOLLOW THE ADVISE OF THE WIFE OF BATH AND LET HER DECIDE. SO FAR THE AGENDA INCLUDES BREAKFAST AT THE WHEELHOUSE, SUPPER AT A NEW ITALIAN PLACE, AND A MOVIE SHE IS EAGER TO SEE (AND I WILL PROBABLY SLEEP THROUGH IF THE SEATING IS COMFORTABLE ENOUGH)
AND FLOWERS, OF COURSE :-)

Made it back home after going to church and then returning dad home. He insisted on feeding us, so he made us one of his, more or less, tasteless 'hamburgers'. He has to eat very bland food, so we try to spice it up with mustard, ketchup and onion, but, still pretty bland. Anyway, we left shortly after and got home a little before 10. No reason to get up early tomorrow, so we won't.

Tommy and Marcus, funny, quite humorous......

Made it to FILs house. We met daughter and SIL in Great Bend to eat and then came on to FIL house. The GDs were OH so happy to see mommy and daddy...and the feelings were mutual. They had never been away from each other that long before. It was good for everyone involved. Much cooler here in the central part of the state....upper 50s and breezy so it feels cooler than it really is.

Everyone went down to the city park (a couple blocks away) to run off some steam before they head home. We’ll probably hang around and take dad to church this evening, before we head home. We’ll be able to sleep in tomorrow morning......which will be good as it might be late before we get home.

Howdy! Another dreary-looking day out there, and the snow is retreating at a very slow pace. I'm guessing it'll be a few weeks before I think about bringing the Vette home.

Gris, you should get something you'd both enjoy, like, say, a nice 80" TV, or a Corvette from the year you were married ;-)

Have a good day, all!

Good morning, all!

Bright and sunny and more springlike today—but still not warm. High in the mid-forties, methinks. Ordered Easter flowers for our two moms, so that's taken care of.

Driving over to our goddaughter's house in about an hour for a small birthday party. She turned six earlier this week and is growing up way too fast.

I think we'll take Louis—I just cleared the last of the snow from the front of his garage door.

CLOUDY AND MILD IN THE NATIONS, HIGH OF 77 AND BREEZY THEY SAY. RAIN PREDICTED FOR SEVERAL DAYS STARTING TOMORROW, THUNDER STORMS, HAIL, HEAVY RAIN, SO THEY SAY. WE CAN USE THE RAIN.

IT’S BUSINESS AS USUAL IN DC AS THE PERMANENT POLITICAL CLASS STRIKES BACK WITH THE SPENDING BILL AND TRUMP BLINKS. GEORGE WALLACE IS ONCE AGAIN PROVEN CORRECT, THERE’S NOT A NICKEL’S WORTH OF DIFFERENCE BETWEEN THE TWO PARTIES.

COUNT DOWN TO ANNIVERSARY CONTINUES AND I'M ALL OUT OF IDEAS.
