Dale that's called a green light where I come from. It's always good when everyone is on the same page. Every generation of cars has had improvements made to them. The C4 was a major change in engineering but a lot of the new computer aided systems were new and they can be a PIA to get working right sometimes. Thus the Guru support center.
The C5 IMO although I am not enamored by it's looks was another step forward and I think has a lot less nickle and dime stuff that can plague you. My friends who have C5's and C6' just drive them and hardly ever have a problem. Not saying they can't have. I don't hang around in other forums much so I don't know if there is a lot of bitching and moaning about the C5 or 6 but I don't think so. Someday I may upgrade because I always have wanted to see what is new but I enjoy my C4 and have bonded with it and like working on it. The best thing is that at this time with kids in college it's what I can afford.

Wow thanks Tommy, I'm feeling inspired all of a sudden. What you say is so true! Brad, buckle up, it's why us midwesterners are such a tough breed, we know snow removal.
Hope none of it comes down here but I think it will. TeeBee I'm sorry to hear about your families loss. It's such a tragady. When I hear of these things I think about those kids in the cancer wards who would have done anything to try to convince her that she had something precious and to protect it. I have some unfun things to do today on the business side and I have been putting them off but can't any longer. Have a good safe day today Guru's, it's Christmas week!

Morning Guru's, Don I bought a set of those valve covers that were not polished and they are well made and will look great if I ever get them on. They are pricey!

Don, good job on what your club is doing, everyone of us is blessed to have what we have and to live in this great country. You want to feel good at Christmas give some help to someone who doesn't have it so good. It doesn't have to be money but someone could use a visit or a kindness of some kind. That's a big part of what the first Christmas was all about, a gift to all of us who didn't have it so good. Have a good weekend Guru's!

Cold and cloudy here. I have to apologise To TeeBee, that nice weather did show up after lunch yesterday, clear and high 40's. It did not stay around long though. I better start thinking about what to get everyone for Christmas. I will go see whats left this weekend.

HER DIARY:
Tonight, I thought my husband was acting weird. We had made plans to meet at a bar to have a drink. I was shopping with my friends all day long, so I thought he was upset at the fact that I was a bit late, but he made no comment on it. Conversation wasn't flowing, so I suggested that we go somewhere quiet so we could talk. He agreed but didn't say much. I asked him what was wrong; he said, "nothing". I asked him if it was my fault that he was upset. He said he wasn't upset, that it had nothing to do with me, and not to worry about it. On the way home, I told him that I loved him. He smiled slightly, and kept driving. I can't explain his behavior. I don't know why he didn't say "I love you, too." When we got home, I felt as if I had lost him completely, as if he wanted nothing to do with me anymore. He just sat there quietly, and watched TV. He continued to seem distant and absent. Finally, with silence all around us, I decided to go to bed. About 15 minutes later, he came to bed. To my suprise, he responded to my caress, and we made love. But I still felt that he was distracted, and his thoughts were somewhere else. He fell asleep, and I cried. I don't know what to do. I'm almost sure that his thoughts are with someone else. My life is a disaster! HIS DIARY: Damn Vette still won't start, can't figure it out, but at least I got laid.

I sent the 100 bucks to Bowling Green and got the original window sticker and the build sheet laminated and some other stuff for my 90. That will tell you what your options are and which dealer ordered the car. It's cool to have and read if you want to part with a C note.
I thought it wasn't good for the shocks to have the weight of the wheels and tires hanging on them indefenatly.

Boots and saddles Guru's, lets get up and get going! Matt is that why it's called the rust belt where you live? My 63 when I owned it was from up north of Chicago and the only thing holding the frame together was the body. Found another frame off a 63 and used it. That would be hard to do nowdays.
Wife is home sick, she finally had to shut down before this thing turns into something ugly. Matt you are rich in kids and family and that is better than gold. Not that gold is a bad thing. Be safe Guru's!

Granite has the look but yikes the money! There were some other disadvantages also so we went with high end formica and like the look and saved a bunch too. It will be interesting to me what you think after you talk to your rock guys.
It would have been 10 trips, trust me on that one.

I would drop a note to SIA and tell them you are unhappy that they could not solve your problem since your ECM continues to not function. Did you spend money with them? It you did I would ask for it back. Then the ball is in their court. If they say too bad, so sad, then you move on and let everyone know that SIA is not that great of a deal.
You may not win but you would have left it up to them to make it right. That's all you can do without a lot more work and frustration. It's weird that they can't find the problem.

Brad. the only one happy about that is Farve! Don, sorry about losing your friend. Very clear and very cold out. My wife who could hardly get around yesterday because of a head cold has had a miraculas healing as she headed off to the Star City for a day of shopping. Amazing!
Of course if it was an indoor car show I may have been healed also. I was watching the reruns of the Mecums K.C. auction last night and they had a 2008 C6 sell for 27K. That is only 2 years old. That car has depreciated half of what it sold for or close to it. That's gotta hurt. It's a buyers market! In the new Hot Rod they have an article on instaling LS3's or LS7's in just about anything and they go like stink. They feature some C2's that had been converted and a mustang and others but no C4's.
How much do you think it would cost to replace an L98? Would it be about the same as a total 383 rebuild? You would need a new tranny also I am sure. I'm not thinking about doing it, just curious.

Yesterday we were out on our 4 trax getting the last of our work done and today its 15 degrees and the wind is blowing about 40 mph. Typical for Huskerland. Not as bad as Brad has it though.
My wife has a cold so I am helping out with the domestic stuff. She thinks I'm picking up in my study as I type this. Got the Vette out 2 days ago and took it for a spin just to oil up the top end. Stay warm if you live in the northlands Guru's

Good morning, everyone up and out the door here except for me. It's going to be nice out today in the 50's so I think I will get a lot of work done and may start the Vette and let it warm up.
My oldest daughter called and she got a promotion at work and will be going to another store in the area she lives in out in LA. Atta girl! Your kids wins are your wins, their losses your losses. We're burning daylight Guru's!
