that's one reason why I like the conversion to allen head bolts. Those damned torx bolts require a square set and that's sometimes hard to do!

After doing it for 10 years it grows on you.

I'll bet more like it grows old.....I took mine apart once, so that I could put it in a box.

The main reason I used the 'pen magnet' method on my recent cam swap.

I've had it apart a couple times. FP regulator one time and injectors another time. It's not so bad. Annoying, yes, but oh well. I'm still debating if I want to continue the TPI long tube setup for my motor or switch to a miniram/lt1. Decisions....decisions...

I did it at least three times with bastet's 87... It does get easier, but it's still annoying.

I mean, who thought it would be a good idea to install bolts, with obstructed opposite side access???

And we are seeing exactly how that rolling has helped them... Rolling straight into oblivion.

I think the right tools are perhaps the most imporant thing when working with a TPI motor. Long ago I bought some T-handle wrenches similar to that in the below link.... mine have a ball-nose, thus you can get at those opposite side lower runner bolts extremely easy with the T-handle wrenches even at an angle.... thus making it easy to start or loosen one.

BB - you are absolutely right. When I bought my bolt set from Kevin, he included a long shanked ball headed allen socket. Perfect.

But OEM is Torx... and they SUCK at acute angles.

I thought just the intake manifold was torx, the runners were standard hex bolts.....but, I don't remember for certain, I haven't worked with the "stock" fasteners in many years.

I can have the injectors and runners out in an hour. The torx bolts are the problem, put some allen head bolts and your tool options are better for getting to the hard to reach bolts.

I had gotten pretty good at removing my TPI when I had it but it does take a few times doing it to get any good.
