Good Morning CGs!

Got home late from work again last night for the second night in a row. As such, I missed my scheduled run, but oh well. I needed a day off. I'm feeling sluggish today. Not sure if it's the weather, work, life??? Hopefully I can pick up the pace by mid morning.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I don't know why you should be sluggish Matt. A wife, two kids, working late, chores, excercise, hobbies. I just don't get it. Maybe you need a vitamin supplement.

Plenty to do today. I looked at my daily planner and the page is blank. Hhhhmmmm. Almost every page on my daily planner and calendar is blank. Just the way I like it ....

Not to worry, Matt - out of sympathy, I didn't run, either.

This got me to thinking:

8:16 AM Dendreon (DNDN) +8.9% premarket after a Medicare advisory committee votes to support government reimbursement for Dendreon's prostate cancer drug Provenge, which costs $93K and extends patients' lives by four months on average. The decision means Medicare will probably choose to cover the drug.

Would you pay $93K to live 4 months?

Medical treatment is not always the answer. Live a good life and die. What's wrong with that?

I agree. Maybe under some special circumstance, like having a child on the way, or something like that, but otherwise I think I'd say no.

Unrelated, this morning I was behind a newer V6 Mustang that had a bumper sticker that said "Brakes Are For Pussies". I was glad I wasn't in front of him.

Hummm, I just looked at my day planner, it says 2004 on it and the pages are still blank.

Ron, next year feel free to come to me & Tommy for advice, we have this thing down pat.

I'm glad I was crusing with the windows down yesterday, things are going to hell for the rest of the week.

Morning guys. Brad, I think that is a bit excessive, I can't imagine any drug worth that much, no matter how long it helps you to survive. Drug companies are as bad as the illegal drug dealers in many respects.

All this talk of retirement..... well I have to say that I am really enjoying my teaching this year. It's probably because I know I don't HAVE to be here that I have CHOSEN to be here, but this year is working out reasonably well for me. Of course the full retirement paycheck and the paycheck for teaching doesn't hurt.

Weather here is decent for November. Wind is blowing and it's 41* right now, but the sun is at least partly out.

We host MS B-ball today, and I'm running the clock/scoreboard. It's OK I'd be there anyway watching the grandson play.

Never was much into Zappa, always thought he was a bit weird for me....and the names he chose for his kids verify the fact. Apparently she misses her daddy...

Isn't that a crock? When my mom was alive, they got quite a few of their drugs from Canada, saved them a lot. Dad, being a WWII vet, got most of his through the VA.

Then you looked in the mirror and your haircut said 1984...

I did get in a nice run tonight - a few miles over to the school track, some sprints, then a cool down home. Felt good, fast pace.

I'm actually working on the computer now that I have been neglecting. Hope I can get it fixed soon.

Matt, I think the first one is my picture from college. Somehow it looked cool under a hockey helmet. I wish someone had taken me for a flat top instead. Oh well live and learn. I havnt really looked into upcharges for prescription meds but if I had to take a guess I would bet most of the cost is assoctiated to governmental costs. Taxes, FDA and such. Just a guess. I believe 75 cents of every gallon of gasoline in chicago is tax.
