Up and out today. Off to Immokalee to pick up some plants and a couple of pallets of a product we sell. Full day in the truck. I'm just riding along to keep my wife company and maybe do a little driving. See ya on the backside of the day.

Good Mornin'

I'm up and at the computer finishing some audio edits for a course that needs to be wrapped up soon! I got some other junk to get out of the way later for the Car Show and then hopefully by 3:00 pm I'll get down and install the drive shaft and C-Beam tonight. Hopefully, I won't have any more delays.... Famous last words

Good morning, all!

Working from home today - it's commencement at the University and there's no reason for me to be there. Besides, I have tons of writing to do ...

Sunshine and warm temps today which is good even though it's Monday. Had hail damage on crops from the storms at the end of last week and we will be out evaluating the plant stands (populations) to see if the farmers will need to replant. It is a big decision and will take some time.

Had some good drives in the Vette this weekend everything on the car is working well. I drove around yesterday looking for places to use as a background for the pics I am going to take for the Guru car show. I found one real good one.

Last week of school for Ultraboy and Ultrawoman. Both are looking forward to that. Have a productive day today everybody!

Greetings! Don, see the shout box - just have some pics ready by Memorial Day weekend. Looking forward to hearing how your car runs once it is back together! I'm still not happy with mine, something is off somewhere. But it's a nice sunny day, so I drove it to work today.

Have a good day, everyone!

Ok... I found some reference to it on the shout box.. Who do we send the photos to? Is there a dedicated thread to the virtual car show?

GM CGs!

Had a nice time at the party last night. Food was really good, but we were packed like sardines in there! A little too small of a hall for about 125 people. Had fun, and Samantha danced up a storm. Didn't stay too late since kids had to get to bed, so the drinks were light. That helps me out

Jacob has a rash on his back so I called and made a doctor appointment for him. I'm sure it's nothing, but the hydrocortisone cream isn't working, so we need something stronger. It doesn't seem to be bothering him, but it's bothering my wife....so you know how that goes.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Brad does one every morning in the shout out box, though.

morning guys....It's not quite a zoo here today, but close. End of the year is the pits. I really need to go out and get some new pictures of the Corvette before Memorial day.

Matt, I know what you mean, they tend to overreact on most things kid related....I'm glad my wife is an RN, she at least has a realistic view, but if she gets concerned, then I know it's bad. Our daughters still call and ask mom questions.

HA! You should see the book we have to read to understand you men
At the day job today, usually my day off. Still dont' feel good, got part of the house rearranged last night, errands to run tonight. Dropped vette off at shop for a check up before her trip. I look forward to the trip but I can't stand getting ready for trips. It's also about 55 and gloomy here, not sure where our nice weather went, my tozens are frozen.
Have a good day all

I have an interupted week at work. Have to travel to Charlotte tonight for a tour and learning session of a Ball Valve manufacturer..ah the exciting life of a plumbing salesman. Won't be back to the office until Thursday afternoon.

Good news is that I ordered the Hot Cam for my new bottom end this morning and the ported SLP runners with matching plenum came today! They are nasty and painted black so I get to start all over with the sanding/polishing on the plenum. I will be stripping the black paint off the runners and leaving them silver/gray.

BTW, weather here is nearly perfect going to be upper 60's to lower 70's and a light breeze 10-15mph. Men's golf tonight should be a good evening.

Letty, it's probably a postage stamp size piece of paper....we're easy to figure out.

Letty, it's 5 pages long no words just pictures. Page 1 picture of a cold beer (N/A for some of us). Page 2 Steak dinner. Page 3 Big screen TV with sports on it. Page 4 a pretty girl serving us the #1 and #2. Page 5 a picture of a fast car or motorcycle. We are very simple and uncomplicated beings.

my 'figure out manual' goes more like this...
When I get home, gimme a beer, find something interesting on tv, dinner about 7ish, steak sounds great right now.. simply be nice, don't do hurtful things to me or behind my back and remember my birthday and christmas and be there if I"m sad. when I'm sick, leave me alone except to check on me. If you change the vette oil, I'll mow the lawn. If you are nice enough to do the dishes or laundry or clean the bathroom there are better rewards...and if you wake me up in the middle of the night for coochie that's all fine and I like that but don't get mad if I do the same to you.
and I hope you like my pickup truck, four wheeler and my mounted deerhead, but keep yer mitts off my rifle unless you ask first. Same goes with the vette keys. There's a stack of Playboys in the bathroom for your amusement if you like, don't use my razor or deodorant. There's also a tv in the back room with the Wii hooked up if we're in each other's way. Wipe your ass good and put the lid down please, pissing in the shower is not nice. And I dont' want a picture of a motorcycle, but you can go buy one if you like and ride me places on it. In return you will be a very happy and well taken care of man

That book looked more like the instuction manual for the 1040EZ.

The car show thread will post on Friday (before Memorial Day) and run through Memorial Day. Open to all Gurus whatever they have that's worth showing. Hot Rods, Muscle Cars, Exotic Sports Cars, Race Cars, and if it's being redone pics of the car in it's current state. No tough rules for this. Get ready to post up your pics.

LET THE GAMES BEGIN!!!

I have the drive shaft in. C-Beam in place. Bolts in and nuts started. C-Beam gave me no problem at all going back in. I'm going to take an audio book down to the garage, a couple of my favorite wrenches and get comfortable under the car while I tighten those bad boys.

Next to do... The list is growing shorter.. I probably missed a bunch too!

Exhaust System
Wheels and tires
EGR and Air System hoses, pipes and connections
Cold Air Intake
Misc. Wires and hoses
Install fender skirts
fill coolant, oil and transmission fluid
double check everything
Adjust TPS
Adjust IAC
load Mick's tune
Hook up TTS Datamaster
Call Mick
Turn Key
Jump for Joy
Drink Beer!

Thanks Tommy!! C-Beam is in! It wasn't near as a PITA as that dipstick tube. However, I do have a knot on my forehead where the Crecent Wrench I was using slipped and hit me in the forehead! That smarts!
Tomorrow night is the exhaust system.

Don, you forgot one at the bottom of the list - Auto-X or road race it for "robustness testing". Did you ever make any power estimate calculations?

Any power over what it currently displays is good by me. I'm guessing around 400 to the wheels. I really don't know for sure. I plugged it into the desktop dyno before, but I didn't have all the real data. I think it was showing about 450 at the crank with what I had input. Honestly, if it takes me down to the Car Show on June 4th I'll be a happy man.
