I know this sounds crazy but Saturday evening, I had what I call a life altering event... or at least I am now looking at life, love and relationships in a total different light.

I would like to tell the whole story but because I want to keep my wife's medical information private, I will say that she experienced a near death episode or what I thought was near death. I held her in my arms for what seemed forever thinking I had lost her before she finally reacted, regained consciousness and began breathing again. We wound up spending the past several days in the hospital doing all kinds of tests. She is home now and things are getting more normal but I will never forget that feeling of how I felt when I thought the world had fallen out from under me.

We did have to postpone her radiation therapy another ten days because of this, but that is just because she missed the initial appointment on Monday. I hope we get this craziness behind us soon!!

All I have to say is that no matter what a PITA our wives can be at times, they are still our best friends and I really thought I had lost mine the other night. Even if it was for a moment, that thought was real and I'll never forget it.

Don there aren't really good words to describe what you had to go through. Know, though, that those of us with someone we hold dear, that we all just felt exactly the way you did...that well behind our eyes, that sink hole in our stomachs...just thinking of what it would be like to be in your shoes with the ones we love.

I so sorry you had to go through that, and oppositely happier still knowing that she's still with you and you're both moving forward.

I hope her improvement continues.

Sorry you had to experience that Don. I have also shared that experience. We take so much for granted till ........ I can honestly say that if I lost my wife I'd be lost. She is a nag and a pain in the ass but somebody in your life has to be or you'd always be doing whatever the hell you want. Right BillH? Don, I wish you and your wife nothing but the best during this stressful and troubling time.

don i understand your feelings and experiance. i had that feeling when rosie had her brain surgery. knowing going in she had a 40/60 chance of survival makes you stand back and really think. like you i almost lost the person i love the most over anything else. she is my best friend and critic-good or bad. i tell you it is a very empty feeling and knowing theres nothing you can do to change the outcome. its all in GODS hands. rosie and i will pray for you both.

Good words Don, we all need a reminder what is important in our lives and something like what happened to you and Kathie can bring it in a rush. I think I am going to go give Ultrawoman a hug for no reason...........be right back!

Around my house she's always right, I'm always wrong.

That's a 100/0 thing.

Pardon my levity. I tend to do that in stressful situations.

Those kicks in the gut are good reminders of what's important - so glad to hear she's home and feeling better! More mojo coming your way.

Sorry to hear about that, Don. But very inspiring thoughts to make us all realize the importance of our relationships. I hope it all works out without any more problems. Keep us posted.

To each and every one of you guys, I want to thank you for you thoughts and prayers. I think we have a long summer ahead of us but as long as we can avoid days like this past Saturday night we will get through it alright. Thanks again, you and your families are in my prayers too, this day.
