Happy independance day!

This is my one (and probably only) shot at starting the daily chat so I went for it. For some reason I woke up at 6 and couldn't get back to sleep. I don't have to be on the road until 9...sheesh, that's three good hours wasted.

I am going to help the fam get the horses together for the parade near their place. Always entertaining. I can throw candy to the kiddies and contribute to the local dentists' pockets.

Anyone selling a trailer? I need a small open car hauler. It's becoming a real PITA to have to go get my big one that' stored 30 min away just to run the car up to a shop or something. I need a little one I can keep in the back yard and not irritate the neighbors.

Good Morning CGs!

Happy 4th to everyone! Went to the neighbors' house last night for bbq and fireworks. Got home and put the kids to bed late. Now I'm up and getting ready for a run. After that ribfest

Hope everyone has a great day!

A glorious 4th to all!

My wife and are off in a couple of minutes to run a local 5k - they call it the Firecracker. We'll see how we do ...

... afterwards, back home to do some cleanup work in preparation for the (short) work week.

Happy Independence Day! Long may the Republic live! Thanks to all the fighting men and women who keep her free.

This is freaky! Cue the Twilight Zone music......I took the kids out for Chinese yesterday and at the end we did the fortune cookie and thing and here was mine.....

Geez I gotta buy that C5 now.....I had to laugh when I opened it.

Grandma made it down and we went to the fireworks last night. They were great. We sat in the back of our pickup in lawn chairs on a perfect night to watch the show with everyone else in town it seemed. Classic 4th.

Gotta go have breakfast with G-Ma. Have a fun day Guru's!

Morning guys....We did our fireworks last night too. sounds like running/walking is the order of business today. This morning, the wife, daughter and two granddaughters are doing a 5k Run/Walk. I'll be ready to load up and hit the road pretty soon.

We have a long drive today, split by some time at my older brothers' house visiting relatives from California. This ought to be interesting.

Marcus, it's your future (or fortune), that C5 is calling out to you.

Thanks for all the well wishes.
Scary shit, last nite the doc said that, untreated, you could loose function in that hand.

Feeling a bit better today.

Damn but you sleep like a baby on Vicodin

If I don't have to take a Vicodin today, it will be a great day.

Or you can take a half pill now and a half pill later and still have a great day.

I'm on my third restart already. Harry Bird started squaking at 6:30 but I just layed there till he stopped and fell back top sleep. Woke up again, heard quiet and fell back asleep. Third time I figured I might as well get up. It was 09:00. Very, very, rare wake up time for me.
Wifey has some swelling on her right side of her face and some little white blisters inside her left eyelid. She called an eye doctor that has been one of her clients for years. He called in a script for eye drop antibiotics. Now I wake up and my face is all puffy and I have irritation in my left eye. Very strange. I might need a drop or two of that stuff myself today. Mil, Fil, Bil, and his gf are supposed to stop by later for a BBQ before we head to the track to watch the fireworks. If we get rained out that'll be just fine with me.

Happy 4th, everybody! I slept in, and will soon be annoying the neighbors with the sounds of a circular saw. Not until the caffeine kicks in, though.

That is a sign if I ever saw one, Marcus - that C5 is as good as yours ;-)

Have fun out there!

Throw out an occasional cherry bomb or blockbuster and your neighbors will be just fine.

Yah... I slept in too and then watched Stage 3 of the Tour de France. I'm a huge fan going back many years. I'll be watching almost daily over the next month. So far the American teams are doing well.

We had a big thunderstorm brew up just before the fireworks last night and the wife hates electrical storms and driving rain. We let it pass but she still didn't want to venture out across the street. Apparently they still had the fireworks display. Its a shame because it was cloudy, rainy and just a mess. I could here them while I was watching the tube. By the way... "Unknown" with Liam Neeson was pretty good flick.

Happy Fourth!!!

Happy fourth everyone... I slept in a bit, or tried to. Just too much stress and aggravation last couple days plus other things bugging me and I'd wake up every couple hours with one thing or another on my mind. I need my Trazodones back. Or perhaps a kind fellow could share some of his Vicodin
Still not done with the car, oil dipstick tube shot need another one but I'm not bothering with it today, it can wait till Saturday then get finished. Looking like it might rain out today, no sun. Was hoping to find a pool someplace to get into but looking more like a quiet day at the house. Made myself some Tuna salad with some hickory smoke flavored tuna and a new recipe I invented. That stuff rocked! I need to write down what I did.
Thinkin' I'll go sit out on the front porch in my newly painted and cushioned front porch swing and listen to the water in my new fountain out there with a cold Corona and take a nap.

I'll share my V, Letty. Trade ya for a Corona.

If I stay off the V, maybe I can have one.

My wrist doesn't hurt, but my hand swelled up to the size of a grapefruit. But it doesn't hurt either, go figure.

The reason it doesn't hurt is that you are on drugs...
Is it a staph infection?

Holy crud, Don, forgot the Tour started. I got into it when Lance was "the man" and got hooked, I try to watch as much as time allows. The moring summaries from the day before tend to be good enough, since nothing really matters until the last 1/3rd of each stage, anyway. And it's not like anyone is ruining the outcome if I'm a little behind;) Of course I said that about LeMans, too.

Today's one of the best weather days we've had so far this year, which caused this white boy to get a nice lobster sunburn. Now I'm going to take a page from the book of some of you gurus and actually wash the cars for once. Well, two of the three, anyway. One of them doesn't have any windows.

Hey Guys, man, we all have to get out and healthy again...run like Matt...maybe that will take care of the ailments. Hope you get better Bill!

Stayed at home today. My wife got a call as she's on call for her hospice job. Had to go out and check someone in. Worked on the Vette a bit and Mustang. Took the Corvette out to fill up...what a fun ride!!! I'm going to get myself in trouble with it.

Tomorrow we're back to work...groan!

Hey guys, I made it home. It was a long trip. Left pretty early and stopped by my older brothers palce (a little out of the way going home), my cousin from California was there (we decided that we hadn't seen one another since 1960, I was 5 and he was 7). So we got caught up on stuff and after about 6 hours, we headed on home. Got home just as most people started their fireworks. Pretty neat to be able to see that from three separate communities (remember we live in FLAT Kansas and can see for miles....no trees either).

My cousin is headed towards home (northern Cali) and is going to stop here tomorrow night, so we will get some more time to chat. Long story short, they only travel about 4-4 1/2 hours per day, because of injuries he incurred as a firefighter about 20 years ago. So for us to be where we are works well for them.

Got to hit the hay.....Happy 4th to all.
