Smoke coming out the defrost vents this morning when I got to work...yeah, that's how my day started.

I'm starting to hate this car cuz I know it hates me.

Our system at work is still down with no idea when it's coming back up.

I'm just glad it's Friday.

Howdy! Been busy as hell since I got to the office, but it makes the day go by quickly. Hope nothing is seriously wrong with your car, Brian! The nice Charter folks will be coming to the house later to replace the DVR, which fried in a power outage yesterday. I imagine we'll lose everything we had recorded

Have a good Friday, yawlz, and mojo to anyone in Irene's path!

good morning guys....Ditto on what Brad said Brian and those in the storms' path. I've been busy with getting stuff ready for kids today. I'm playing in a golf tourney tomorrow, so I'll be out of the loop.

Keep the shiny side up folks.

Good morning to all!

I got back last night after leaving on Tuesday to drive my son up to Harrisonburg, VA for college. On the way up, saw great convoys of buckettrucks and linemen moving every which way on the highways. Asked some in the hotel parking lot who said they had been sent to SC but were now being staged to wait there (in the Shenandoha Valley) awaiting further developments on the storm. Driving down 95 on the way back passing multiple convoys going north and of course Corvettes heading to Carlisle By the way, that quake centered in Mineral, VA is only about 10 miles from my house that I'm renting out while in SC. No damage but scary for the tenants who called !

I drove the 02 Mustang to drop off my kid. At the college, I ran over a deep rut in the road caused by pavement buckling when the heavy trucks drive the pavement down in the heat. Caused an exhaust leak, but not too bad. Got to I-95 to start south and BAM! At a gas station, the exhaust fell off! Got a roll back to come and pick me up...got towed to a friends house who luckily has a lift. We put the car up (this is about 730 at night) and the flange had broken off from the exhaust manifold and was sitting on the downpipe. We ended up taking the manifold off, the down pipe down with its cats and welding the flange back onto the manifold. (he's got a MIG welder at his house!) Biggest PIA was to get the O2 sensors clipped back together due to where the plug is and the access issue!

I finally got back on the road at 1130 that night and then ended up staying in NC somewhere. Finished the drive home yesterday.

It was fortuitous that I broke down only about 20 miles from his place and that he has a lift and welding equipment and the time and ability to help me fix it. Otherwise, it would have been very painfull!!

On the bright side...I drove the Corvette to work...beautiful morning to be driving with the top down

Good Afternoon CGs!

Rough morning so far. Rugrat #1 didnt want to go to daycare and had her usual meltdown. We were 30 minutes late. Rugrat #2 is sick as of yesterday with Rugrat #1s fever. Seems she caught foot/mouth disease early this week, most likely from school. So sore throat and fever. #2 must have picked it up from her while sharing sippy cups, etc. He was ok overnight, took a bottle at 6:30 this morning. After that wouldn't eat/drink and was miserable. I checked his fever at about 11:00 and it was 102.1. So he got a dose of motrin and a lukewarm bath for about 20 minutes. He didn't like the bath at first, but once his fever started coming down he had a ball splashing around. Still won't eat, but will take down some fluids. His fever seems lower but we'll keep an eye on it.

Played with the governor adjustments some more last night. Wasn't too happy with the gross inconsistencies in shifting once making changes. Problem is too many changes too quickly. I set everything back to stock and I'm running new baselines and will be changing everything one piece and level at a time. Frustrating.

Wife wants to go out to dinner. Not sure what we want yet. Suggestions?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Happy Friday Gurus!

Been a while since I stopped by. An absolutely BEAUTIFUL day here in the greater Chicago area, and looking forward to a great weekend!

Had my bone marrow biopsy yesterday. Painful yes, but not quite as bad as I had expected. Hoping I only need just the one. Get the results next Thursday. I also got the results from the lymph node biopsy that I had last week. Thankfully, it was benign. So, if the bone marrow comes back clean, I might not be in too bad of shape. Prayers do work.

Working from home today, since I'm not cleared to drive until later this afternoon. Thinking about saddling up the Vette tonight when my wife gets home though, and hitting a local cruise night. Put an end to another tough week and kick off a nice weekend at the same time!

Onward and upward! Have a great weekend all!

Ron

Quiet Friday and still too hot here, plus we sure need some rain. Our daughter is driving home from Downer's Grove, IL today. She will get a week off and then be heading to NC or where ever the hurricane tears things up the worst. Then our son is starting to pack things up as he is being deployed over seas again.

Ron - glad the test was benign - mojo for the other test!

Andy - that's right around the corner from me. What was she doing up here? And good luck to your son.

Bill - glad you finally opened a restaurant filled with your mother's classic recipes

Taking care of the repairs to homes with tornado and/or hail damage. She likes the early part - meeting with the homeowners and helping them out. The last two months up there has been mostly paperwork, which is her least favorite part.
