Morning everyone....
Been down the last few days with the bug that's going around, but I'm back at it today. Christmas shopping is almost done and the tree is filling up with gifts fast. I'm so looking forward to a partial break from work starting on Thursday; the campus is closing for winter break and that will be welcomed. I won a trip to San Diego at the other job; 2 nights at the Holiday Inn at the bay and 2 tickets to the SD Zoo...the little one is so excited. We're saving it for spring break.... Folks, make it a great day! |

Whoo Hoo! Hit 4 numbers on the Lotto. Paid $80 Won another $70 on scratch offs. Looks like we have made enough back to play for the next few weeks. Had some visitors stop by yesterday. Nothing takes the wind out of your sails for doing chores faster than people stopping by. I snapped out of one nappy period only to get nappy again by the time the visitors left. It left me no other choice but to take an afternoon snooze. Almost 2 hours thown at the time bandit (bed). It's a new dawn, it's a new day, let's try a new way.
The countdown to X-Mas is in the single digits. I used to feel down during the holidays but since I retired I'm so damned busy I don't have time to get all mopey and shit. Guess that's a good thing. Retired to me means, no timeclock, no politics. Still put up with a lot of  though. |

Atta Boy Bob...congrats on winnning..that sounds like fun. Tommy...wow...just two more and it could have been huge...
Snowing here this morning. We went into the city last night for church and it was great. This is supposed to clear out of here after lunch. Still looking at TV's but want it up on the wall and am somewhat worried about how to do that....I am sure there is Guru knowledge on that out there....anyone hang a TV on the wall...?? Not much else going on just waiting for Christmas....I better get some stuff ordered....I need to call Omaha Steaks and get a package sent to my Mom. Their food is all excellent and they have much more then just steaks. You guys relax and have some fun today..... |

Morning guys....only five more days until the Christmas break for me. Finals Wed-Fri, so it will be a fairly easy week. I didn't do a whole lot yesterday. I got some DVD's in the mail that I ordered. I was so into James Garner back in the 70's and loved "Rockford Files" I ran across season five DVD's for $11 shipped, so I bought them. Watched several episodes yesterday while the wife made Christmas cookies.

Oh, we had an inch of rain Friday. We could use another inch this week and another the week after that and ....well you get the idea. |

It's frosty here, but no snow. Marcus, buy one of those TV brackets, makes mounting the TV on the wall a breeze. I've put several up. the first one I used a cheap bracket and it was a little scary, but I've used the better (more expensive) ones lately and I had no fear what-so-ever. We got a box from Omaha Steaks from one of the boards the wife is on, can't wait to grill those up. Tommy and Bill's luck at the casino is in direct disproportion to mine. I have never won....OK I won $14 once, it only cost me $50 to do it.

Speaking of WallyWorld - the TV buying experience there:
You go on a weekday fairly early to avoid the crowds, logical right?  Since it's 9 a.m. there's only one person behind the counter in electronics and he's showing a cell phone. Stand at one of the cash registers for 10 minutes while 3 other Wally's walk around with those little bar code guns, come into the cash register square but avoid looking at me cause they might have to do something. Still waiting ( the guy selling the cell phone has printed out a quarter inch of paperwork for his customer - looks like a mortgage closing). Finally, one of the bar code gunners stops by and says "Do you need something?", No, lady, I like hanging out at cash registers. "I need a TV" "OK, oh that one's big, I'll go get a cart." Another 5 minutes passes. The lady & cart arrive, she says "I'll need some help." and finds a guy an isle over who's actually helping someone. So that guy comes over and we put the TV on the cart. Then he stands there with a puzzled look on his face, glancing at saleslady #1 for 5 minutes. Then he decides to move the cart/tv to the cash register (15 feet) and goes to look for help. Wonder where he went?  5 minutes later a lady walks into the cash register thing (she has Asst. Manager) on her nametag. She asks "Are you buying that?"  "No, lady, I'm very tired and ask your guys to put this here infront of the register so i could lean on it." THEN, she can't figure how to log on to the cash register.  Another lady shows up with Electronics Manager shows up )oh,boy) and shows her how to log on then leaves to help another customer. The ass manager, says here's the price. "What about the extended warranty?" She looks around for a while and finally produces an extended warranty booklet (which was in a stand right beside the cash register). But she can't figure how to ring it up. So, we wait for the manager to finish with her customer and show the ass manager how to run a cash register. By that time the guy who was supposed to help me load was gone of course. Sink me. |

All the 42's at Wmart are the 2011 models, this one just came out and is like the 60 I bought. Yea, the Vizio mount doesn't swivel. Note that the more you need to swivel, the further away from the wall you'll need to be. Mine's on a stand with a swivel tray I built and it needs to be 6-8 inches away from the wall to swivel the way I want it to. Maybe take a tape measure @ 47 in. hold it a couple inches from the wall and swivel it to see where the tv side will touch the wall and if that angle fits your needs. |

Good moanin'! I'm happy to see that we didn't get the snow they were predicting for last night. Hopefully the rain we did get won't turn the roads into skating rinks later today.
James Garner has always been a favorite, way back to Maverick. We always got a kick out of The Rockford Files, too. Marcus, whatever mount you buy, make sure to shop around online for it - the stores are real proud of their mounts. Enjoy your Sunday, Gurus! |

Good Morning CGs!
Worked yesterday and I was exhausted when I got home. Walked around like a zombie for a few hours then laid down with the baby to put him to sleep. That was at 9 pm so that's when I fell asleep...lol.Felt good after I got 10 hours of sleep. Folks were in town this weekend, too, so that was nice. We went to breakfast this morning then they hit the road for home. We have to do some shopping later but no other big plans. No workout today, seem to have aggravated a muscle or nerve in my neck/shoulder on Friday during my workout. Should be better by tomorrow. Congrats on winning the trip, Bob. I put one of those swivel-tilt-rotate mounts up for a local bar along with the 46" TV. It was a chore and the best it can do is about 10" from the wall. It was pricey too....around $150 IIRC. Not sure what model they are, but Sam's has pretty good prices on TVs. OH, yea finding a STUD, stud, is imperative
Oh yea, I liked Maverick too and Support your local Sheriff is hilarious. Just heard the Trans-Siberia Orchestra-Christmas Canon, what a beautiful Christmas song. |

Rainy, goomy, muggy, funky here... lousy depressing day outside... nothing to do inside or outside. Did I mention how excited I was over my tire deal I made?
Also discovered I was out of clean jeans so I went fumbling through the closet for something to put on. Tried on a couple pairs of older jeans. One pair fit great, even loose in the waist but I hated them, too low rise. The other pair fit great, haven't worn them in two years so I wore those. Tried on one more pair that didn't fit yet and found $4 in the pocket. Those jeans I'd not worn in probably 3+ years. Small amount of cash but it's enough for a lotto ticket. And, my cousin in the nursing home insisted I take $50 from her Christmas gift buying money and get myself something for all I have done for her. I'd rather not, that's too much money. She gets irritated at me so I say "ok I will". Well, I put $30 with it and got a Lifeproof case for my iPhone5. Been wanting one even when I had the old phone. I'd say I've had my blessings this weekend. I also found a deal on some phone service for her that will save her $50 a month between her home and cell phones. Now she's happy too. I'm still not putting up a damed tree, though. Bah humbug. I'm a grinch kinda gal. |

I made the decision and pulled the ECM out of the Corvette and am sending it in to East Coast Supercharging for one of their mail order tunes. If I gain 2-3 MPG like many people claim they are getting, it will nearly pay for the tune itself on our planned trip to California. Bill, our trip to California is back on for this coming June. Would like to stop and meet you, maybe we will stay in the Reno area.

I bid on an extra clip for my pistol on ebay. Searched google for new and they were few and far between. There was an aftermarket clip but I wanted to go with a factory one. I got outbid and I thought the bidding was over. I checked for the closing bid and there was about 42 minutes left to go. I saw one went recently for $13. Retail new is $32 to $40 if someone has one in stock. The bidding was at $20.50 I figured what the hell. Snipe it. All the time I spend searching around isn't worth the few bucks more I'll spend getting what I want now. Won it at $23 plus $3.85 shipping. Retailers were charging even more than that to ship. I paid more than I wanted but I'll consider it an investment in my time. Well worth it in my book. |
