Good morning gang.

Cool here this morning. Should be partly cloudy today with temps in the mid 40's.

Not alot to do today should be quiet day at work.

Word of the Day Thursday, November 07, 2013

clepe\ kleep \, verb;

1. to call; name (now chiefly in the past participle as ycleped or yclept).

Origin:

Clepe is derived from the Old English word cleopian which is related to the Middle Low German word kleperen meaning "to rattle." The odd iteration of clepe is its past participle yclept which is its more common variant. The initial y is a vestige from Middle English.

Q: What’s the difference between a pizza and an otter?
A: A pizza doesn’t scream when you put it in the oven.

Q: How do you save a drowning otter?
A: Take your foot of its head

Husband & Wife

A husband and wife are driving home and run over a otter, they get out and find its still breathing but freezing cold.
The husband says "Put it between your legs to warm it up"
Wife replies "But its all wet and it stinks!"
Husband says "Well hold its nose!".

Little boy

A policeman caught a nasty little boy with a BB gun in one hand and a otter in the other.
"Now Listen here," the policeman said,
"Whatever you do to that poor, defenseless creature I shall personally do to you"
"In that case," said the boy.
"I'll kiss it's butt and let it go"

Movies

A man in a movie theater notices what looks like a otter sitting next to him.
"Are you a otter?" asked the man, surprised.
"Yes."
"What are you doing at the movies?"
The otter replied, "Well, I liked the book."

Howdy! My commute was out of sync this morning - I'd just miss a green light, or timing would be just right to get stuck behind a gaggle of knuckle-dragging morons. I hope that isn't an indicator of how the rest of the day will go. Meanwhile, the little snow we got the other night is still blanketing the yard.

Have a good day, Gurus - one way or the otter.

You know you can't get the green lights every time, Brad, but it would be nice. You can start your day over again any time you like ....... Like right now.

Brad, that traffic problem extends clear into Northeast Ohio. I couldn't make any time this morning either. Three lanes and all doing exactly the same speed. Passing and making progress was impossible. Hope the afternoon commute is better.

I've been chasing hoes all morning. Backhoes that is. Trying to find a reliable Old Faithful on the cheap. Came across a couple of late 90's John Deere 410E's for $15,500 to $16,500. We pay $75 an hour for the operator/hoe combo right now. We're thinking of buying our own. Of course I'm sure Sue would need someone to deliver it to the job sites. We'd need a trailer too. We're gonna check out the daily rental market also. See how much they charge by the day.

My computer time is drawing to close and I have real stuff that needs to be done. Better get crackin.

Morning guys...I'm in the middle of testing. It took nearly an hour just to fill out the information needed before testing could begin. It's liable to be a slow morning for the proctors, the kids will think that the time is going fast as these are timed tests.

After we are done testing, P-T conferences begin at 1pm and go until 8pm. I'm just giddy over the fun we are going to have (he says in his most sarcastic voice).

35 DEGREES THIS MORNING, BUT THE SUN IS SHINING. THAT MAKES EVERYTHING OK.

SPEAKING OF OK, BIG HURRAH IN THE STATE OVER SCHOOL EVALUATIONS. In 2012, Oklahoma joined the dozen or so other states using an A-F grades for public school accountability, and just as in several other states, the grading methods quickly became the source of controversy.

APPARENTLY A-F IS GOOD FOR THE KIDS BUT EVIL FOR ADMINISTRATORS. WHEN ABOUT HALF HIS SCHOOLS GOT F'S THE TULSA SUPE OF SCHOOLS ANNOUNCED THAT THE RATINGS WERE "flawed and completely inconsequential."

FUNNY THING, WHEN I WENT TO SCHOOL, BACK IN THE DARK AGES, I TRIED THAT VERY ARGUMENT ON MY PARENTS. DIDN'T WORK FOR ME, WONDER IF IT'LL WORK FOR THE EDU-CRATS?

About 40 here this morning, but yes the sun was shining and that makes it all better...
Don't make the side of my truck look any better but lying on the couch looking up at this new fan mite make me forget about it. Mine quit. I use it to help keep heat blown down into the room in the winter and obvious cooling in the summer. This one was on sale at Lowe's.
And Brad, here's an idea you can pass to your cop friends for the slow drivers in the fast lane:

The guy that owned the race shop I worked in said one time "I want to get a back hoe." I figured he was going to get a used one.............he bought a brand new JD 410, 4 wheel drive..............his property was a whopping 2 acres.

Sitting here for two hours already, had two parents come by, four if you count two sets that I don't have their kids, just acquaintances. It's going to be a long 5 more hours. At least we got internet access this year.

That looks like a neat engine MM has developed. I'm sure their experience with the LT5 gave them lots of knowledge.

Yo Tommy - Nice ass....

I have just been blessed and freaked out all in the same hour...

Dood next door brought me $75 for a design favor I did for him a while back - wasn't expecting that.
Another gave me $100 yesterday for some other crap...
And I just got a phone call from a man named Andy Babiak, who owns TintTek that the guys get their patterns from - he has a designer now trying to do wraps and asked my boss was it okay for her to pick my brain.. wow....
made me feel special....

I'll have to put that engine on my "stuff I'd buy if I win the lotto" list. Meanwhile, my day went just ducky - a one-hour meeting this afternoon turned into 3.5 hours. So I got out of work late, resulting in waiting in line to get out of the parking ramp, waiting in line to get onto the freeway, stop-and-go traffic all the way home, and waiting through 3 lights to get off the exit ramp. But I'm not bitter.

Hi guys and gals. Late check in today. Had parent teacher conference tonight. Everything is going well with the rugrat.

On another happy note, neighbor bought me a nice brand new stainless steel gas grill. He has a construction company and I referred a big job to him, so it's a "thank you" for that. I was shocked...and happy at the same time. He has offered me to work for him doing estimates and job sales, but I don't have the time. He said the money is good, though.

Hope everyone had a great day!
