Good Morning CGs!

Well we are almost there...the big day is just around the corner. Underneath the Christmas tree is packed with goodies for the kids from all of the family members who love to exchange gifts. I guess as an adult that has kind of worn off for me. Oh well.

Ridiculously cold here today. Currently -4 with a windchill of -10. Supposed to get up to 16. Woo hoo. Heat wave. Tomorrow 25. Can't wait.

On a positive note the new paddles came in for the snow blower. Once I get some time I can install those and be ready for the next storm.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

It will be fantastic on the ski slopes, I'm headed to the music studio to rock a little.

Those are the fun years Matt when you get to see the excitment of the kids as they open thier gifts....I know what I'm getting mostly but can't wait to open them......especially the ones that come from Corvettemods....

Cold windy and gray out.....we will head in later to Christmas Eve services and then eat.....for the first time in years we are not doing our go out to the truck stop thing for ice cream......we have done that for ever but the other family could not make it this year so its a no go.

Have a great day Guru's.....

Morning all,
ridiculous cold here too but of course that means different to me, here it's "only" 23... Couldn't fall asleep again last night for some reason and as figured, up too early today. All my shopping is done, I'll make some Rice Krispy Treats for my cousin in the nursing home to add to her 'goody' gift bag. The shoes I ordered her off Ebay have arrived. She's finiky about what she wanted and I couldn't find them here and found some there and they arrived yesterday. Scooby snack to the seller for that speedy shipment.
For the first time in like 5 years there are actually gifts under a tree I've not put up in about three years. Headed to my cousin's tomorrow and taking a turtle pie, some cake truffles, baked beans with lil smokies, fried corn and my cheese bread they always ask for. According to my aunt I'll be bringing home a bottle of booze as her new job is at the liquor store...
Merry Christmas Eve Everyone.

Have a laugh today:

For those of you who remember this old tv show you can
certainly appreciate this.
These great questions and answers are from the days when 'Hollywood Squares' game show responses were spontaneous, not scripted, as they are now. Peter Marshall was the host asking the questions, of course.

Q. Paul, what is a good reason for pounding meat?
A. Paul Lynde: Loneliness!
The audience laughed so long and so hard it took up almost 15 minutes of the show!

Q. Do female frogs croak?
A. Paul Lynde: If you hold their little heads under water long enough.

Q. If you're going to make a parachute jump, at least how high should you be?
A. Charley Weaver: Three days of steady drinking should do it.

Q. True or False, a pea can last as long as 5,000 years.
A. George Gobel: Boy, it sure seems that way sometimes.

Q. You've been having trouble going to sleep. Are you probably a man or a woman?
A. Don Knotts: That's what's been keeping me awake.

Q. According to Cosmopolitan, if you meet a stranger at a party and you think that he is attractive, is it okay to come out and ask him if he's married?
A. Rose Marie: No, wait until morning.

Q. Which of your five senses tends to diminish as you get older?
A. Charley Weaver: My sense of decency.

Q. In Hawaiian, does it take more than three words to say 'I Love You'?
A. Vincent Price: No, you can say it with a pineapple and a twenty.

Q. What are 'Do It,' 'I Can Help,' and 'I Can't Get Enough'?
A. George Gobel: I don't know, but it's coming from the next apartment.

Q. As you grow older, do you tend to gesture more or less with your hands while talking?
A. Rose Marie: You ask me one more growing old question Peter, and I'll give you a gesture you'll never forget.

Q. Paul, why do Hell's Angels wear leather?
A. Paul Lynde: Because chiffon wrinkles too easily.

Q. Charley, you've just decided to grow strawberries. Are you going to get any during the first year?
A. Charley Weaver: Of course not, I'm too busy growing strawberries.

Q. In bowling, what's a perfect score?
A. Rose Marie: Ralph, the pin boy.

Q. It is considered in bad taste to discuss two subjects at nudist camps. One is politics, what is the other?
A. Paul Lynde: Tape measures.

Q. During a tornado, are you safer in the bedroom or in the closet?
A. Rose Marie: Unfortunately Peter, I'm always safe in the bedroom.

Q. Can boys join the Camp Fire Girls?
A. Marty Allen: Only after lights out.

Q. When you pat a dog on its head he will wag his tail.
What will a goose do?

A. Paul Lynde: Make him bark?

Q. If you were pregnant for two years, what would you give birth to?
A. Paul Lynde: Whatever it is, it would never be afraid of the dark.

Q. According to Ann Landers, is there anything wrong with getting into the habit of kissing a lot of people?
A. Charley Weaver: It got me out of the army.

Q. It is the most abused and neglected part of your body, what is it?
A. Paul Lynde: Mine may be abused, but it certainly isn't neglected.

Q. Back in the old days, when Great Grandpa put horseradish on his head, what was he trying to do?
A. George Gobel: Get it in his mouth.

Q. Who stays pregnant for a longer period of time, your wife or your elephant?
A. Paul Lynde: Who told you about my elephant?

Q. When a couple have a baby, who is responsible for its sex?
A. Charley Weaver: I'll lend him the car, the rest is up to him.

Q. Jackie Gleason recently revealed that he firmly believes in them and has actually seen them on at least two occasions. What are they?
A. Charley Weaver: His feet.

Q. According to Ann Landers, what are two thing you should never do in bed?
A. Paul Lynde: Point and laugh

Hahahaha - Hollywood Squares was great!

It's a balmy -9 out there. Gonna be tough hanging the wash out on the clothes-line. Not much on the agenda today - just have to finish getting the powder room back in working order. Later my MIL and her husband will come over for some appetizers, and we'll open some gifts. I hope somebody gets me a big bottle of Aleve.

Have a safe and festive Christmas Eve, Gurus!

Good morning, all! Much colder in the Philadelphia area today, but clear and pretty.

We went out earlier today to get the last of the Christmas dinner supplies. In a little under an hour we head out to see our goddaughter and her family. After that, back home for a quiet evening.

Good morning,

It got up to a balmy 32º above during the night and is now about 26º. Yes, that's above zero. A 50-60º change from yesterday. The only problem is a sheet of ice on everything. Glad I don't have far to go.

Morning guys....it was not a fun night here. Sat and watched a couple Christmas movies with #2 & 3 grandsons. About 10:30 I went in to the kitchen and got a drink of water. A little belch revealed an acidic taste. By 11:30 my stomach was rolling and wasn't sure which end it would come out of. Either end probably would have felt better. So I was up for most of an hour. I then went downstairs to try and sleep in the recliner. Not much luck. When Rosie got up I went upstairs to the bed and slept for a couple more hours. Still feel like a truck ran over me.

It's cold here, but the sun is shining brightly. Not sure what is come weather-wise today.

Thanks Letty for posting those comments from Hollywood Squares, that was a classic game show.

I've got three computers to work on here and one more that I need to go get. I'll stay busy today.

I hope all your little ones (and you big ones too) get everything you deserve tonight or tomorrow.

I'D GUESS YOU ARE AT THAT AWKWARD AGE. IF SO IN A FEW YEARS YOU WILL YOU MAY DISCOVER THE JOY OF GIVING THE "JUST RIGHT" GIFT SURPASSES ANY PLEASURE OF GETTING SOMETHING.

I ALWAYS LOVED CHRISTMAS ABOVE ALL HOLIDAYS. AS THE YEARS PILED UP, THE KIDS GOT ESTABLISHED, AND MY DISPOSABLE INCOME INCREASED I FOUND WHAT I GOT WAS NOT IMPORTANT. WHAT WAS IMPORTANT WAS THE LIGHT IN THE EYES OF THE ONE FOR WHOM YOU FOUND JUST THE RIGHT THING. CHRISTMAS JUST GETS BETTER AND BETTER.

Good to hear! I'm amazed at the difference after just a few days, especially with this cold weather and working on the floor.

The bathroom is all put together, and my tools/mess are cleaned up, so it's time to hit the showers and then sit on my butt for the duration.

Christmas seemed to start early - a friend of mine messaged me and asked had I done the brakes on the truck yet - noooopppeee - don't know how. He said for me to bring it there. He showed me how and now they're done, and then sent me home with some deer steaks from his most recent kill and a spiced scented candle. Then the shop owner and his wife came over and brought me a Crown Royal gift set, a candy making contraption with molds and stuff and a blown glass dated ornament for my tree. She'd gotten him some UnderArmour drawers and he complains now that his pants wont' stay up so I got him some of the widest reddest suspenders I could find. Heck, he's just turned 62 they'll look appropriate! And he'd mentioned one of those 'old man' straw hats with the green see through part in the front of the brim so I found one at the tractor supply store and he got that too, I found a wonderful smelling jar candle and a metal sleeve to cover it that's got a pattern cut in it for her. The baked beans and little smokies are done, cheese bread ready to bake, I think my toes and fingers have finally thawed...
Have a good Christmas Eve night... sleep tight...
