Good morning gang.

Warm here this morning temps in the upper 60's low 70's and muggy. Looks like a good chance of rain today.

Not much else happening.

Word of the Day Tuesday, May 13, 2014

ad hominem\ ad HOM-uh-nuhm -nem, ahd‐ \, adjective;

1. appealing to one's prejudices, emotions, or special interests rather than to one's intellect or reason.

2. attacking an opponent's character rather than answering his argument.

Origin:

Ad hominem translates literally from Latin as "to the man." It entered English in the late 1500s.

Good morning, all.

Muggy but a little cooler in the Philadelphia area today.

Garage report: the builders got most of the wall framing in yesterday, so we're getting a real idea of how the garage will actually impinge on the view and the rest of the yard.

Good Morning CGs!

Last night the weather was miserable. Tried sleeping with the windows open and the fan on and it was way too muggy and humid. Kids were restless and so were we. Ended up turning on the a/c around 12:30 and all was well again. Gotta love creature comforts.

Still haven't picked up the check valve for the car, I'll do that today. I also need to run and do a few errands and then throw a workout in.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Hidey-ho! Another gloomy-looking day here, but it's supposed to be dry, but mid-50's and windy. Not exactly ideal golf weather. Amazing how mid-50's would've sounded pretty delightful back in February.

It would be fun to build a new garage. Another stall or two, a lift, massive work bench, lots of cabinets, floor drain, hot and cold water, wet bar, big screen TV, urinal. You know, the basics.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Morning guys...Brad that house and man cave is for sale right next door to me! We had frost last night here, May 15 is generally considered the last chance for that in our area....could prove that wrong this week. A chance of moisture later in the week. I hope it comes.

Called the general contractor this morning and they want me to build a couple of linen closets for the bathrooms. I told him that I have other jobs that HAVE to go first, but if they want to wait I can do them.

Got to make a phone call or two, catch you all later.

Yeah we need to put up a building or some garage stalls we have a two stall garage now and the GS is hogging that up.

Good morning all, the sun is shining and it will hit 60 today so maybe warm weather is returning.

Since we had a no work day yesterday I took some time and put in a new Core/Hurst shifter in my GS. I'm old school and a Hurst shifter was the thing back in the day so I put one in. It wasn't very hard....the hardest was getting the console cover off the car with all the stuff that plugs in to it. There were good instuctions and of course I watched a You Tube vid on how to do it....

The shifts are shorter and more precise and I like the feel of that pool ball as I run up throung the gears...I did take it on a short test drive between drizzels yesterday.

Sorry about these pics I will get some better ones later...

WOW, what a night ! Had 2+ hours of tornado / severe thunderstorm / flash flood warnings last night. Woke up to spectacular blue skies and sunshine. The downside is the flooded basement. Nothing major, but annoying.

CLOUDY THIS MORNING, SUPPOSED TO CLEAR OFF. GOT ANOTHER HALF INCH OF RAIN LAST NIGHT; THAT MAKES TWO INCHES FOR THIS GO ROUND. NOW I'LL HAVE TO MOW THE YARD AGAIN.

COOLED OFF BEHIND THE FRONT, 80'S YESTERDAY, 50 THIS MORNING. MORE LIKE MAY WEATHER SHOULD BE.

MAY MAKE A RUN TO TULSA TODAY.

Sorry to hear about the aunt, Tom...
Rainy here too, and cooler weather coming.. 40 days and 40 nights of rain on the way. And wouldn't you know it, someone wants to bring me a van to photo and measure for a wrap in the middle of this crap. Nice. Slow day at the office, have a ton of stuff that needs gone through and filed, guess I can get that done.
Cool looking shifter...

Trying to post today is like getting in a worm hole with meteor interference. Good afternoon everyone. It's been a busy day so far. Had an opportunity to use the crew for a few hours so use them I did. We put down over 180 25 gallon buckets of mulch. It would have taken me three days to do what we did in 3 1/2 hours. Good deal. I still have a dozen or more buckets to do on my own but by no means am I complaining. Carry on my wayward sons. They'll be peace when you are done ...........

I realize you like your cars from 1985 but if you buy a cell phone from this millennium you can actually take pictures and instantly upload them to that fancy thing called the Internet.

For some reason I'm envisioning a wiring nightmare, among other things say when there's an accident and car crashes jab holes and tears into the stuff and rip it apart...or what happens to it when there's washouts and stuff that leave normal roadbeds uneven from underneath???

evening guys, left right after school to go to the wake service. Got to see the the cousins and offer condolences. It was packed. Nice to see the turn out for such a great lady. Tomorrow is the funeral and I'm sure that it will be packed there too.

Got to see two of Rosie's brothers and her sister. Mom was doing pretty good, but she tires easily. A third brother will be here tomorrow, so that leaves just one brother that won't make it.

We did take the Corvette to check out the new radio/nav system. The nav is NOT Garmin, but the graphics are really good, on the other hand I'm not sure how it was figuring the route. It was saying 4 hours to do a trip I know only takes about 2 hours and 45 minutes.....It must have been figuring me driving like 40mph. As we got closer it started catching up, but I obviously don't have all the settings right. Guess I need to read the instructions.

Well, I guess I'm closing the daily chat down for the day. I hope everyone had a great day. I hope to be able to get on in the morning before leaving for the funeral.
