Good Morning CGs!

Hope everyone has their Xmas shopping completed. For you last minute shoppers I hope everything goes smoothly.

I went to Fedex Tuesday night to drop off my steering rack to send to Turn One. The guy working the counter was the biggest knucklehead I've ever dealt with (note to kids: don't smoke pot). So after I got it all *properly addressed (he made three mistakes) he was trying to upgrade me to guaranteed shipping on Monday for $41. I said no, give me the cheapest. It was $16. He couldn't guarantee when it would get there next week. I said I didn't care. Checked the tracking number and it was delivered yesterday

No updates on the car yet, I'm giving them time to get the work done.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Good morning to all Gurus wherever you may be.

I had an interesting experience this Christmas Eve morning.

As I was getting ready to head out to work I was looking at the sky. It was a mix of clear and clouds. When I turned to the East, there was one single star still shining bright.

But then, a cloud bank rolled across and it disappeared from sight.

A sign, perhaps? I may have to get up early tomorrow and see if it happens again.

G'morning all.
Beautiful day here in the land of Buckeyes. I'm off to b'fast with one of my college fraternity brothers, then we'll join the rest of the crew at the mall for the annual shopping trip.
I hope all of you have a safe and wonderful Christmas.

Ho-ho-ho!

We got some snow yesterday, a thin layer of wet, slushy stuff. So I shoveled it up, and what remained quickly turned into glare ice. Hopefully the ice-melt pellets will help, otherwise it'll be a challenge navigating the driveway today. Meanwhile, I intended to sleep in later, but failed miserably. I'll have to make up for that later.

Have a great Christmas, Gurus!

MERRY CHRISTMAS TO ALL!

SEMI-SUNNY AND BREEZY IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING; THE CHEROKEES ARE WAITING FOR SANTA TO ARRIVE AND AM GRISHEIM WE AWAIT THE GATHERING OF THE CLAN. THE PRESENTS ARE UNDER THE TREE, THE HAM IS IN THE OVEN, AND THE WASSEL ON THE FIRE.

THIS IS THE BEST TIME OF THE YEAR.

Good morning, all.

I have a half day at work and than Ivelis (my wife) is coming in town for our traditional Christmas Eve "linner" before we get down to work hosting Christmas Day dinner for the family.

It's time to post this year's car tree (or in this case car trees) picture. From left to right, we have the Pontiac tree (with one Mopar), the Corvette tree, the Ford tree, the non-Corvette/non-Pontiac General Motors tree, and the red C5 Corvette convertible tree. All Ivelis' work—I just get to enjoy.

Well I guess you could't have timed that any better as we have had about 4" of new snow last night......Have to admit it does look real Christmassy. Not much to shovel since you can just push it around....

My shopping is done at least for now......I will get a few more things for the girls but they are not coming until next week.....

I'm strongly thinking of getting a Vitesse throttle controller for the Corvette.....I am hearing nothing but good about it.....it takes the lag out of when you put your foot into it and the engine responds. Does not increase HP in anyway just lets your engine rev quicker......its adjustable so you can set it how you like it........they are fairly inexpensive and have been getting rave reviews over on the other forum.......They will work on any C6 except the 05's for some reason......$180 bucks......

Well (yawn).....might be time for a mid morning winters nap.....we will go to church later then home for hot coco and some soup as we sit around the fire in the fireplace.........have a great day Guru's........

Well, Merry Christmas Eve, to my Guru buddies! Slept in a bit. Been working on a few things around here. Did my "mind games" (Lumosity) and awaiting the local clan to come over as Grandma Rosie is making french toast for brunch.

We have church this evening and Santa will come while we are gone there, so when we get back, the kids will open presents. In the morning we will be leaving pretty early so we can help Rosie's dad get things together for the onslaught of family members expected to arrive by noon.

If I don't make it back today, I wish everyone a Merry Christmas. Safe travels to those of us who are travelling.

2 days ago it was 56 degrees.

2 nights ago we had 10 earthquakes (1/4 mile from my house).

Today - Blizzard

But, worst of all - Windows 10 demanded to be upgraded this morning.

1 hour & 30 minutes. Then,

"Don't worry, your files are exactly where you left them." - Gee Thanks

Then, "We'll be ready soon" - another 15 minutes.

I hate Windows 10

I keep thinking I should try upgrading one of my machines to Windows 10, but perhaps not :-P

Meanwhile, there is still time to shop for that unique gift:

The free upgrade destroyed my Toshiba laptop, had to buy a new one.

Windows 10 - Won't let you resize pictures, the geniuses at Microsoft say to load the pic into "paint" to do it, yea, that works real well.

Upgrading to W10 removes MS Word so, you have no word processer anymore (brilliant). But you can buy and pay a monthly charge for "Office".

Great stuff, huh?

I haven't bothered looking at W10 yet. My laptop is running W7 and my outdated desktop is still on XP. I don't know if my HP scanner is supported on anything past XP, that is why that machine is still kicking around.

Hey guys, been a good day here.

I LIKE W10. A little frustrated the other day when it updated (like Bill's update today), but my Win7 was giving me the BSOD once a week or so, so I figured I couldn't be out much if I didn't like it. The machine that was BSODing has run perfectly since. I've upgraded three of my other computers to W10 and several of my clients. The only problem I had was a known issue with some computers losing the "start menu". But I got that back and working through one of the five ways they said it took to get it back.

Got to hit the hay, I'll try to check in once we get to the FILs place. Merry Christmas!
