I need to replace all my coolant hoses now while I'm putting the radiator and accesories back on. The SAMCO hoses in red would offer some great additional "Bling" to the engine bay, but I was wondering if they are really worth the $160 that they cost.

I guess new standard hoses will cost around $75-$100 maybe?

With all the expensive enhancements you list in your signature :thumbright: , you're worried about sixty bucks? Just go for it!

Repectfully:
Every expensive enhancement has been thought out and decided based on cost and value. Also discussed at length over the past couple of years. I like spending money on stuff that will serve me well where it counts.

I'm just trying to find out if someone has used these hoses and make sure they are ok. Perhaps they fall apart after 1,000 miles? Who knows and what's the problem with asking?

I wasn't trying to "dis" you. I put the thumbs up in there to indicate that I thought it looked like a great list of enhancements, and maybe even some envy.

Thanks - I'm sorry for jumping on you. I should have prolly' took a break.

I wanted to get rid of that list anyway. What are lists good for anyhow?

Cheers!

If you get them, make sure to get clamps with rounded edges - I got mine here (don't recall exactly which sizes I ordered):

So you can compare to the guy next to you and find out how much more money you're gonna have to spend to have more than him.

What are they made of?

Everything I've read says silicone is great for high temps, but not so good at everything else.

I'm just using Goodyear HiMiler, but don't have much to say about them. They just sit there and don't leak.

I used to work on big trucks for a living. Many of them come with silicone hoses from the factory. They last hundreds of thousands of miles on them. They are a good investment, IMO if you're planning on keeping your car a long time.

I love mine. They look great and are basically lifetime hoses. These are obviously on my Z, but you get the idea.

Lemme know if the deal falls through...are they stock replacement? I've eliminated a few hoses on mine and want to clean it up a bit...there's a "tee" off the radiator inlet hose that is blocked off and goes nowhere. Looks dumb.

Tobijohn has agreed to buy them. Let me know if you would like a set. I'll see what I can do.
