I was using one to back up a bolt because I was too lazy to get a box wrench. The crescent slipped and now I have a welt the size of a golf ball on my forehead and a headache the size of rhode island.

Beer me.

Were you using a metric Crescent wrench on a standard bolt?

The right tool for the right job. You should have used adjustable pliers.

Wow, that sucks. Did you ever play pool with someone who sucks at it? You know, standing on the other side of the table they are playing on and they wind up and let'er go which sends the que ball straight twards your neither regions. THAT sucks, I would much rather have a headache. So look on the bright side, at least your boys are in good working order.

Haha. The problem is he was using a left handed crescent on a right handed bolt.

I always seem to bust my knuckles and rip all the skin off when I do that. I wear mechanic's gloves every time, now.

Hope ya feel better.

A buddy of mine was removing a C5 driveshaft last week and same thing (more or less) happened. He was yanking on a stuck bolt, the car was on a hoist above him. The bolt came loose, the driveshaft came free, and landed on his face giving him a black eye and a killer headache.

I happened to call him right after it happened and he sounded pretty woozy...amusing.
