Considering I'm going 427...I'm not much for aesthetics....would it be really gay to put this on the side of the car, just over the gills? It's not big and gaudy....comments welcome.

Maybe just on the back bumper?

I'd put it on the hood where it rises up, just like on the C3. If it won't fit there, go with over the gills.

I think it would look cool. Nothing wrong with advertising what you have.

If you don't want to put that style on, you could put those hood stripe accents on and any of the vinyl places could custom make it with a "427" cut out in it (as opposed to l98, lt1, etc)

If not, I think either on the rear bumper or on the side above the gills would look good, too.

I like the idea.

Here's another one:

Resized Image

So many people put fake emblems on your car that you're bound to get called out on it. Then you can pop the hood / smoke the tires and make a fool of them.

I prefer no badges or stickers. In my opinion, leave it stock looking for the most part. Folks who would appreciate what the 427 badge represents will be able to tell that the car is not stock when they hear it run. That car will be a beast!!

Yes! with that amount of money spent show the world what's under that plastic hood. I'm old school, still remember how seeing those "427" badges would strike fear in your heart!

My sentiments exactly. I've always enjoyed it immensely when I've driven a "sleeper".

You could do something subtle and have vinyl lettering or airbrushed on the side of the bulge in the hood smiliar to a C3 Vette or early Z28. Dont think it would look good on the rear bumper, reminds me of the thugs driving around ex police cars or beat up suburbans with C5 emblems on the fender.

Or you could just paint the words toRk monster o down the side of the car.

Hell yes. When you scoot away from them at 1/3 throttle like a line drive, they'll get the idea.

One more thing to consider is some bastage will try to steal them. My buddy has a Mallett Corvette and his badges have been stolen twice. I had a 68 442 Olds and the decklid emblem was literally pryed off with a screwdriver.
Not trying to be doom and gloom but people love screwin with stuff liek that for some reason.

Do it!!

The latest Cooksey Edition of the Z06 has the 427 badges on the hood from the factory and they look awesome.

Several guys in my club with 427 cars are doing it as well. I don't mind in that it looks cool, and there is no misrepresentation going on.

That takes care of that, if you're into the car show thing then I would definately do it. It's not like it will be false advertising.

If it were ME......I'd place it the same place as factory LT4/ZR-1....RR bumper.

Although...I'd surely be tempted to place it on the riser of the hood, like everyone here suggests.

On a different (but related) note....I've found an ebay seller that provides ashtray labels (subtle yet 'telling'? I got the LT4 label :_) that MAY be able to produce a CI/HP/TQ label for yours? http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBa ... iewItem&item=140217175317 You could always ask him, I suppose?

I believe that the LT4/ZR-1 label was just an aftermarket sticker. I know that the LT4 has no external badging, but not sure about the ZR-1 as I've seen some with the label above the gills, but that could be aftermarket as well.

Even at car shows, just pop the hood. That would be the telling tale for me.

93 and newer ZR1's have the emblem on the fender.

I think it would look cool painted on the fender or hood, but not the rear bumper. I also don't like the idea of a badge, it messes with the lines of the car. Painting it on though would be cool, IMO.

Another cool idea is a third brake light decal that says 427. That way, people would only see it if you were on the brakes. A buddy of mine has "You'd Lose" in his third brake light and it looks pretty cool. Another friend has "Try Me" in the third light of his 10 second Grand National.

I kinda like the third light idea because not everyone will notice it.

I would put the classic 427 logo on the fender, just like the Ruby and ZR1 did.

This location:
Resized Image

With this emblem:
Resized Image

The key this this is simple. If someone puts those on there and they don't have it to back it, they look like tools. If you have it, subtly flaunt it.

The problem with a 427 small block is that you can't physically show it. It looks no different than a 350. However, start that sucker... heh heh heh.
