Well I finally received a package yesterday, and it was a long time coming. I have wanted to build a motor for years now, and finally the finished product is in my garage. It was a nice feeling when I took of the top portion of the crate to discover the 421 which was built by a forum member named Jim Barth.

Jim spent a lot of time in regards to this motor, and a big thanks to Jim for putting up with me. Jim really went the extra mile, and he really has a passion/knowledge for building engines.

I don’t know exactly when the motor is going in the car as I have a few more things to buy. I am hoping to have it fully tuned by July 09’, and have some dyno numbers, and more importantly some mph trap speed which truly shows how much power the ole’ 88 will have. The goal has been to trap in the 125 mph range naturally aspirated. The motor is a fully forged bottom end, and the NOS (150 shot) is always a possibility down the road.

It is nice to have the motor finally planted in my garage. It will obviously be even more enjoyable feeling the estimated 550chp/540tq down the country roads. I believe that good things come to those who wait. I went with some stout parts, and these things aren't cheap.

Take care guys!

He'll never put it in, lol. This cat has bought and sold more mods without installing them than anyone else on Earth. In a couple months, maybe a year, you'll some kind of post like this:

"Guys, I hate to do it but I have to sell my 421. This awesome motor was built by Jim Barth, carries all the best parts, and blah, blah, blah...

I really hate to do this but my wife is pregnant / lost my job / getting divorced / buying a summer home / got sand in my vagina / realized I'm a tool bag and won't ever complete anything I start, ever, in my whole life / or some other sob story."

Only one way to prove me wrong Ricky... ;)

Matthew, just spray a whole bottle of mean green in the engine compartment. Cover every nook and cranny. Hose it off after about 5 minutes. Do it again. Then use a whole can of tire foam, close the hood and go to bed. When you get up in the morning your engine and engine bay will look like new! (well, not quite new but really really good.)
