her: I just bought a new hutch
me: OK her: can you leave early to help me pick it up me: no her: what about a long lunch? me: no me: can they deliver it? her: no I'm stuck at work from 9to5>5:30 They close @ 4:30 So, how am I suppose to pick this thing up? Also, I'm betting it won't fit in her car, it definitely won't fit in my Vette, which means I'll need to rent a truck. ARGH!!!! |

I get those kind of calls all the time. I love my mom, but come on. When she comes over she brings crap she doesn't want anymore, I mean junk. I got old hacked up golf balls, old nick nats my wife won't even want. She brought over all these old bed spreads and place mats and I kept those. Great for soaking up oil spills and covering exposed wheel hubs and engine parts. She thinks they are on our bed. Even stuff I gave her as a kid (from field trips, etc.) and she doesn't remember where they came from. Most of everything goes in the trash. Calls me over to get broken stuff (of course I don't know it till I get there). I guess thats just life.

Some mothers don't treat their kids well. If you are fortunate enough to have one who is loving and caring, that is a blessing. But if you have one who berated you, takes advantage of you and is abusive, it may be difficult to get the warm-fuzzies when they call you on the phone.
