There's a difference between racing and dorking.

Not bad. I think that first viper was just spinning the tires without even braking....

I guess I just don't get the appeal. I don't see why burnouts appeal to people. They're not good for the car, the interior, the tires, drive train, the brakes, the road, or the air. It smells like crap, the smell stays inside a car for a long time, it costs a lot to replace the tires and brakes and don't even get me started on the morons that end up replacing their clutch...
...I just don't get it. |

Kinda like people that build 400+ cubic inch engines for their cars. I mean, the speed limit on most highways is 55 or maybe 65. What can you do with that big of an engine? Really, it just wastes gasoline and pollutes the environment and contributes to global warming. I just don't get it either. |

When I was younger, I did the mod the motor thing. I then realized that I was enjoying the HP about 5-10% of the time. I felt the bang for the buck wasn't very good and if I'm going to spend big bucks, it's going into a motor/car that gets redlined every gear, every time, a race car. I will do suspension/brake mods on my street stuff but that's about it. I do understand guys building up their street motors, it just doesn't work for me. |

I don't smoke'm but I could if I wanted to. I do screech them from time to time. It's better to have power and not use it than have no power and can't use it. I have the same feelings about money.

Having 500 horsepower isn't good for any of that stuff either but that hasn't stopped you. But I don't think me or anyone else who enjoys doing burnouts cares if you get it. |

I don't think my stock 90 could do a burnout even if I wanted to.

I have a stock 92 LT1 with auto, D36 w/2.59 gears, turn ASR off and hammer the throttle, up in smoke. I don't do it often but sometimes it just makes me smile:toothy5:. As for money reason, most tires have a 30k mile or more useful life, at an average of 5k a year thats about 6 years before replacement. I like to change up every three years or so anyway, no problem. I had a pro street 69 GTO with 19.5x33x15 Mickey Thompsons at 1k per year it would have taken 30 yrs to wear them out, they would rot before then, soooooo.......burn baby burn, usually a crowd pleaser. Life in a nut shell.

Depends on what tires you're on. I recommend getting tires that you'll wear out in 4-5 years. If you only do 1K per year, there are tires that will be gone in 5000 miles and be more fun to drive on than hard 30k mile tires.
I just removed a set! Kumho XS. What a waste. Problem is I used them up in 6 months. Nitto drag radials or maybe some Nitto NT-05 or NT-01 are cheap and would last only a few years on a car you don't use much. |
