So ............ I told my wife I had a full day planned for today. Even though I told her this I guess she doesn't really care what I plan. Could you just do me 1 favor? Could you drop off a cutomers shovel that ended up with our stuff when we left the job. That's a two hour gig. 1 hour up 1 our back. Yep, I can do it, but something I planned for won't get done. She tells me all the time I'm not spontanious. I don't like to change things as I go. She also tells me I have the rest of my life to get stuff done. She's right. I have the rest of my life to get something done. Maybe that'll be my reason for not doing a f@(%!ng thing today but go for a 2 hour joyride. Hope you make it a good day. I will ...........

Indeed - do something spontaneous, like stopping at the Dairy Queen on your way ;-)

Dark and cold here, and the grindstone awaits. Have a good day, everyone!

***** Update ******

Before she left she said .... "Do your things first. I can always go this afternoon."

Now if I don't do it, I'll be feeling guilty for not helping her out. LOL.

Two shovels don't fit well in sportscars. Top dropped handles up or in a hardtop coupe, handles out the passsenger window. Oh well. I'll work it out somehow.
If this is all I have to complain about today, should be a pretty good day.

Good morning guys....I'm up before the alarm again, but I got to bed before my normal time. I built a computer last night, but some dumba$$ (me) ordered the wrong type of memory for the motherboard, so I didn't get it all done or any of the OS installed.

After school I spent an hour and a half at a clients house discussing the countertop for his patio kitchen. It's going to be a "solid surface" top and I have to build it....only the second one that I have done. And the first one was very simple only requiring a couple of cuts. This one is requiring many specialized cuts and gluing it together multiple places.

Got to go, I'll check in later.

Tommy you could always cut a bit off the shovel handle to help it fit in the Vette. A two hour drive looking at greenery and some flowers while writing it all off to work is not that bad of deal. That's called windshield time!

My wife said to ask the Guru's about vacume cleaners. We have been buying Wal-Mart stuff but we only get about 6 monthes out of them before something breaks. I would pay 400 to 500 for something decent if I knew what was out there. Any ideas?

Got lots going on at work so I better go do it. Let's all have a good day!

Ah, don't bring that up. I'm still crosseyed from yesterday, working on tile patterns, mixing colors, thinking about gluing multiple pieces together.
And that's just my first dry run. I get to pick it all back up, number each piece and put it back in cartons for later.

I'm not messing with the countertops, I'll just let the "Granite Guys" do the gluin'.

Marcus, We just went vacuum shopping. I wanted a bagless canister vac and we bought the Electrolux EL4300A for $399.99. The Kenmores have turned to crap IMO and like I said , we wanted a bagless. The Elecrolux line seemed pretty good as far as feeling like it would hold up, had the features we wanted and is moderately priced. What type vac does she want? Upright or canister?

Thanks Tommy! I think she would prefer an uprightous model but might consider the canister style after looking at them. Did you buy online or did you go to a store? I also think a bagless is the best.

Vacs at one time were a door to door sales deal and the prices were always outrageous. My Mom had a Rainbow that you had to have water in the base for it to work. I think she still has it and also a Kirby that I still use out in the office that has to be 30 or more years old. They were always about a thousand bucks it seems and if you bought it today they would throw in the rug shampoo kit for free. Normally a $200 option.

Whatever happened to those guys? I think they turned into lot lizards at these huge car dealers.

We got it at a store named BrandsMart. Local chain. I saw it at Kohls. There are others too. If you have a big box store that your a member of like Cosco or Sams Club, that would probably be your best bet. It's best to see them to test drive them. Some feature locations, switches and weight distribution, etc. can only be felt hands on. There is a lot of cheap garbage out there. Happy hunting.

Here's 800 reviews on uprights, probably 790 of them are stupid but.....

If you click "See More" under Brands, there's 31 Electrolux's for sale.

For slipping off the cleaning head and getting into tight spaces I like the canisters' wand. Good for reaching up and gettin cobwebs off the ceiling too. For cleaning carpets and floors an upright is OK but some of them suckas are heavy. A canister is easier to drag out to vacuum the cars out too. I've just always found them more versatile. Great for cleaning up birdseed too.

We have a Kirby, Marcus. Have had this one for about 20 years. When they come by trying to sell us a new one I always let them clean the carpet then I dicker with them. Then in the end I say "No". My neighbor across the street, bought one the last time they came through....after the sales pitch, she said I'll give you $650 for the whole kit and kaboodle. They told her no, she said "Fine, you can leave", then as they were walking out the door they agreed on $650. If you want a Kirby (and I think they are good quality machines)you can deal with them and make them an offer. We gave $700 for the one we have and at the time they started out talking $1100, we talked them down $400. They have room to play.

Tom are those new Kirbys any lighter? I know the old one I have weighs a ton. Never did brake down much though. Yeah they got room to deal, you did good!

Do they still sell that way? I haven't seen a Kirby guy in 20 years or more.

Good Evening CGs!

Been a long day with the rugrats. Haven't had time to get online all day. Oh well, that's life sometimes. Of course now my wife informed me tonight she's working Thursday, too, which wasn't in the plans. Of course Thursday is when I was going to do brakes and tire rotations and an oil change. Heck, who needs brakes, anyway? Always something with her, and now she's pissed because I'm going mountain biking for an hour tomorrow. God forbid I have 1 hour to myself out of my entire days off. I am not in a good mood.

Marcus, yes they still come around here like that. And the neighbor just bought hers about a year ago. They are still hefty, maybe not as heavy as our old one, but still heavier than the chit you buy at Walmart.

Our oldest daughter has a Dyson Ball and loves it.

I just talked to my wife, she says the other nurse that works with her just recently bought a Kenmore of some sort that she likes. Has the hepa filter, and she has bad allergies, so that is an important feature.
