The color is brilliant red metallic. PPG paint 3 coats, wet sanded, 4th coat painted then urethane clear coat. Cost 20 Benjamins. Looks really nice and shiny to boot. Up close you can see metalflake.

383 with a ProCharger SuperCharger. Has a little get up and go. Three years later and we're still on the learning curve.

Looks real nice.

2 grand seems about the going rate for quality paint work as long as nothing on the body needs major attention.

The front bumper showed cracks and splitting of the paint surface from a low speed impact. I looked at where it was and there is a barely detectable line they squared off, sanded and repaired the area. Like I said you have to really look to find anything. It's one of those things that if you know where to look you can find trace evidence. I did find one fish eye. I'll probaly see more after I wash it a couple of times. Like I've said in the past. This ain't no show car. It's a cruiser. I just try to fix stuff as I go along. Every year some major concerns are addressed on the vehicles. Since my rebuild on my 911 and put new rubber on it there has been no major expenses. All our cars are works in progress. I think the turn signal switch was about all in three years of operation (don't make me look at the file). Top is clean as a whistle. It may have been up, taped and papered with the back portion opened to expose the rear deck. I saw it that way when they were prepping it. My wife saw it with the top down when they were putting everything back together. To be honest, I'm really not sure if it was up or down.

Look closely at the first hood pic in full size. You can actually see the green reflection of the tree on the hood. That's looks pretty nice to me.

My 87 has the same paint problems origional paint. With removing bumpers the average cost in Bakersfield is 4-6 grand. I only paid 5 grand for the vett.

How's the paint holding up 1+ year later? Don't want to nag, but the light lenses look like they could use a buff.

A little orange peel that I didn't notice originally. I knocked a little chip onto the rear deack with a guide to the vert top, the mechanics at a local national chain must have spilled a little brake fluid up by my mirror as there is some discoloration. I had the master cylinder replaced. Overall the paint still looks good. It's due for a major wax application and yes, the lenses still need a good buffing. PPG products were used in painting.
