Good morning gang.

Wet here this morning. We had rain mosst of the day yesterday and temps in the 50's. Today looks to be cool and day temps in the upper 40's low 50's.

Not much else going on.

aureole;
I unscrew the top, lick off the creme filling and then eat the other side. Wash it down with good ol' cow juice, and I'm good!

I've been fighting a cold that's moved into my eyes. At times I can't see. I just hafta stop and close and dab. Makes it hard to drive 30 miles to work. taken several minutes to get thru this. And being Corvette-less sucks-too. I'm thinking of finding a lower price unit that'll suppress my addiction. Maybe an automatic this time. I don't know how this'll fly at home.

It's a pretty day today. I have some work to do at the nursery. Yesterday I got the solar lights put back. Prepped the garden beds. (We're getting vegetable plants this weekend), mowed the lawn, cleaned up the house a little, then fed the critters. I know how to keep busy. I don't like to play in the Devil's playground. I was just thinking how pretty a shiny black Porsche looks in the sunlight. I have to go into town later for an N/A run. The radiator is in the forefront of my mind so I can see wrenches in my hands in the near future. Sue has a plant show this weekend so I may be able to get a few things I want done. Who know's, I may even start later today.

Happy Friday! Can't believe how fast the week went by. I'm going to try to make a mad dash over to my MIL's after work and put the Vette away, since the "s" word is in tomorrow's forecast as well. I don't expect anything that will stick, but nonetheless I don't relish leaving the Maxima outdoors once windows start to frost up, etc.

Have a great Friday, Gurus!

Good Morning CGs!

Cold as heck here as well, you can feel the chill in the house.

This evening there is a trick or treat fundraiser at the school for the PTA. We had some hand me down costumes in the closet from my aunt that were actually brand new, so the kids tried those on and they fit perfectly. Nice. I love saving money.

Not much else going on here.

Hope everyone has a great day!

I just got back in from a stroll in the front yard. To my dismay, I found the puppy had found one set of solar color changing lights and made short work of them. They are the ones you see in HF for $9.99. It comes in a set of three, a hummingbird, a butterfly and a dragonfly. I had originally bought three sets. I took them down after I found the pup had taken a liking to them. At my spouses insistence, I put them back up. Another set has succumb to fate. Now I'm down to one surviving set. Screw it. My wife gets what she wants and all that comes along with it.

The S word is a very bad word.....I am banning it from my vocabulary.....I hope we don't get any....we have not even had a killing frost here yet....

Yesterday I rode in a combine which cost about 250K which was guided by GPS and the moniters were also mapping the fields for yield and we were running 270 to 290 with an occasional hit over 300 bushels....when I got in this game back in the mid 70's we were trying to consistantly hit 150 bushels of corn per acre. Then we went to 180's then in the 1990's we tried to hit 200 bushels and its gone up from there......

What has made all the difference?....Better living thru chemistry......better weed and insect control and genetics. Take away the limiting factors and the corn plant will pay you back. The corn plan has the potential for 600 bushels per acre in a perfect world and what we do or don't do to it effects the outcome....Your Guru agronomy lessen for today....

Ok let's get it in gear and push onward.....have a nice well rounded day Gurus..

Careful.

There could be one or two idiots in this party that cause people to think the entire party shares their beliefs.

However, IF most of the Tea Party believes their stated position, it sounds pretty good to me.

But, they're all politicians so................

Of course not. Idiots are loud, idiots get a huge percentage of media coverage because they are loud.

And a huge percentage of American idiots believe the media.

Looks like the dust is settling now.

Interesting development in today's carnage, all or at least most of those involved have a history of some health issues. Open enrollment for our insurance starts 2 weeks from today. Coincidence ???

This year if we don't participate in the voluntary biometric screening, they are going to ding us $750 a quarter until we do. Same thing for those with health issues like diabetes that don't participate in company supplied counseling, $750 a quarter til you do. These rules also apply to spouses that are under our plan.

I just hope I can stay under the radar for 5 1/2 more years.

YES! THERE ARE SCOTS-IRISH LIVING STILL.
"LOYALTY TO CLAN AND CHIEF,
A SCONE ON THE HOB FOR THE SON OF GRIEF,
AND A KNIFE IN THE RIBS FOR THE CLEVER THIEF"
JACKSONIAN IS A VERY APT DESCRIPTOR.

THE MEDIA, OF COURSE, BLOVIATES ABOUT "THE TEA PARTY" AS IF IT WERE SOME ORGANIZED ENTITY. TEA PARTY FOLKS ARE KINDA LIKE BAPTISTS. EVERY BAPTIST CHURCH IS, IN ITSELF, THE BAPTIST CHURCH. INDEPENDENT AS A HOG ON ICE.

THE OPPORTUNISTIC ARE SCRAMBLING LIKE MAD TO CASH IN ON THIS. TEA PARTY THIS AND TEA PARTY THAT, ALL BEGGING FOR MONEY; MY PHONE RINGS A HALF DOZEN TIMES A DAY WITH THESE.

Bravo to the mailman, good story.

Good to hear you evaded the axe, Ken. A lot of "consulting" outfits are springing up that go into companies to pitch plans like what you described, and it will wind up with all kinds of folks paying through the nose if their BMI is too high, they smoke, etc.

Meanwhile, my son sent me this article today:
