Good morning gang.

Not bad here this morning. Temps in the mid 40's and we should stay here most of the day with rain showers on and off.

Lets hit it folks.

Word of the Day Wednesday, March 19, 2014

susurrant\ soo-SUR-uhnt \, adjective;

1. softly murmuring; whispering.

Origin:

Susurrant entered English in the late 1700s from the Latin meaning "to whisper."

Good Morning CGs!

Well my tires didn't come in yesterday. Kind of pizzed. They told me Monday or Tuesday at the latest, now it's Thursday. I am impatient, yes, but I am more angry that they told me one thing and then it's not accomplished. Oh well.

Wifey is at work today so I am King of the household. About the only time, right? Once the kids are up it's off to school for RR#1 and then I will run some errands with RR#2.

Looks like we're getting some rain today. Hopefully it will wash away the last remaining snow on the ground.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! We got a few inches of sloppy snow this morning, so my speedometer was pegged on "Plod" all the way to the office. Delightful! Meanwhile, I completed another lap around the sun today. It feels like my lap times are getting faster, which I am not particularly thrilled about.

Have a good day, Gurus!

Today is shaping up to be a rather exciting day. Plans are to clean the bird cages, back patio, and clean up after the children (the critters). There are dog toys strewn throughout. This place looks like a hurricane hit it one day after it's cleaned up. Carpets turned, mulch drug inside on their fur. Ah, it comes with the turf. I enjoy the company of my pets. They don't create a tenth of the $#!+ or stress that people do. (Except for the puppy tearing out plants in the yard.) My buddy's services are this afternoon so it will be time to share with his family. I talked with a few friends after they found out about his death. They all said "We ought to spend more time together". We all say that. We see each other at funerals and marriages ......... We all know the drill.

I slept in a little. I have to get my ass in gear. Later ..........

Remember those days many moons ago when you were hangin with the guys, testosterone raging, in the hunt for a girl that really caught your attention. Remember the way you said that no girl would get between you and the guys. The way that girls always got in the way of your spending time with guys. You remember how you said "She's cool and she lets me spend time with my friends". How all you male relationships faded into the sunset as you became more involved with your dream girl. How women guided you into making choices and decisions you didn't want to make but were better for the relationship. Ahhh ....... Those were the days ...........

I should clean the bird cages like Tommy, probably the last chance to do it for a while.

Racing season is here.
I got emails from 2 advanced track drivers that want private coaching before the season starts next month.

We have our Annual Tech day at Summit Racing next week.

Then a training day at the race track for corner workers, fire crew and new instructors.

Plus the new Atlantic is being shipped from the east coast today.

And just to show that we here at the Guru are multicultural:

Absolutely Brilliant

The European Commission has just announced an agreement whereby English will be the official language of the European Union rather than German, which was the other possibility.

As part of the negotiations, the British Government conceded that English spelling had some room for improvement and has accepted a 5- year phase-in plan that would become known as “Euro-English”.

In the first year, “s” will replace the soft “c”. Sertainly, this will make the sivil servants jump with joy. The hard “c” will be dropped in favour of “k”. This should klear up konfusion, and keyboards kan have one less letter.

There will be growing publik enthusiasm in the sekond year when the troublesome “ph” will be replaced with “f”. This will make words like fotograf 20% shorter.

In the 3rd year, publik akseptanse of the new spelling kan be expekted to reach the stage where more komplikated changes are possible.

Governments will enkourage the removal of double letters which have always ben a deterent to akurate speling.

Also, al wil agre that the horibl mes of the silent “e” in the languag is disgrasful and it should go away.

By the 4th yer people wil be reseptiv to steps such as replasing “th” with “z” and “w” with “v”.

During ze fifz yer, ze unesesary “o” kan be dropd from vords kontaining “ou” and after ziz fifz yer, ve vil hav a reil sensi bl riten styl.

Zer vil be no mor trubl or difikultis and evrivun vil find it ezi TU understand ech oza. Ze drem of a united urop vil finali kum tru.

Und efter ze fifz yer, ve vil al be speking German like zey vunted in ze forst plas.

If zis mad you smil, pleas pas on to oza pepl.

Good morning, Gurus! Well, it's still barely morning here, anyways! =)

Happy Birthday, Brad!

Best wishes, Andy! When I finished chemo (a much milder course that what's used for cancer, but still the same process and location), all the nurses came around to wish me Happy Graduation! So here's looking forward to your Graduation Day.

LOL in an I'm sorry kind of way re the mailbox - it must have been quite the sight. We did kitty meds this morning - she's on a two-a-day regimen now, and I'm getting better at it! Either that or she's more resigned to it. Either way, there's less caterwauling.

Finished that computer, but the guy wasn't home, so I'll deliver it later. Got a call from a lady who owns a rental and she wanted me to go look at a gate and see if I could fix it. Well, I looked and it can be fixed....if I completely rebuild it. So I've drawn up a design for the metal shop teacher to weld me up a new frame, then I'll re-attach the pickets to that. I'm so glad that I got all my honey do list done so I could DNBFS.......

THE DAY IS MO' BETTA NOW, SUN CAME OUT.

GOT THE NEW MAIL BOX UP WITHOUT BLOODSHED. THAT'S UNUSUAL AS I CAN'T PICK UP A SCREWDRIVER WITHOUT SKINNING A KNUCKLE MOST OF THE TIME.

A SMALL BLOOD OFFERING TO THE TOOL GODS.

I read it as 'reattach the pickles' and that sure didn't make any sense to me.
