Looks like the Z and all my Vette stuff may be headed to Canada sometime soon, trying to finalize some details.

Probably be pretty scarce afterwards, not real happy about it. Will miss the car but I wont miss having debt and plan on getting a lot more accomplished not sitting in front of a computer which owning a Vette almost requires.

Bittersweet is an understatement.

I sent a pm to have my username deleted over "there" .

Sorry Mike, didnt have an answer on the filter being as it was new. Has to be a 1)crack in a manifold, hole in a grid or the D.E. is slippping by an Oring where the assembly mounts into.

I'll have to let you take my vette for a spin when the new engine is installed.

You already earned that right since you're working on the heads.

Car/spare motor sold for full price no questions asked.

Nothing has hit the bank YET so nothings final til the fat lady sings ...

I have mixed feelings all the way around about it.

Getting completely out of debt and not having one more car to think about will be a mental weight lifted from me is all I can say right now. At this point in life less is more...Used to be the more the better.I want a house.

Matatk, Ill still be around...Made too many friends here.

Porting...anytime thats a given .Youll see some stuff here real soon turning up on the forums..A nasty 408 dressed as a as stock LT1 (smoothed and painted MR) down to the fuel rail covers and some 113 heads/TPI intake getting worked over for another member....If I can ever get off this friggin computer. Ugh.

Sheesh! Its a good lookin car and the new owner will be happy. Financially that car can clean you out if something simple like a water pump or alt goes.

At least I had the pleasure to see and drive it once.

As far as dropping off the screen here goes, I cant believe you'll disappear all together. Whos gonna take care of Andys cars if your gone?

Lord knows he cant do it alone

For some reason (may be an earlier post on some board, don't recall which one), I'm thinking we'll see you regularly on a C3 forum somewhere?

Whatever, good luck.

By the way, how's the new job working out.
Haven't seen anything recently on that.

Mike, decided not to get the C3. I have a hard time fitting into them. THe car turned out to be a 15 footer, not intersted in something that needs work.

Job...questionable. I got tossed for being late once and they are bringing me back for academy#2 Mon. Now if they could only remember they were supposed to pay me. LOL

If it doesnt work out this time Im pakcing it in and leaving Ca.

Well, I hope it all works out for you, whatever you decide. I'm kinda saddened by your decision though. I know I don't have much of a chance to travel the US to see everyone, but you were one of the guys I hoped to meet someday. Can't really explain why.

Take care, and hopefully you'll still be around, at least a little.

Awhile is probably going to be a few weeks at most. And they'll pay back the withheld funds when the budget passes.

I don't get what that accomplishes though, just spends less of this years budget and more of next years, plus administrative costs of implementing it.

Sweeten the deal with one of those mini superchargers, then he won't be able to resist. If he doesn't want it, somebody else does. Maybe a nice light kit.

Marriage has been good for me. We have 8 vehicles. I drive 4 of them

Some guys are just pussy whipped beyond belief, others are dumber than a box of rocks and will bankrupt themselves buying shit they can't afford. The wife has to treat them like children. There are also the ones who blame the wife because they have no balls and talk out their ass. I am an absolute dick when it comes to selling a car because I have no patience for bullshit, talk it over with the wife, get the money together blah blah. Call me when you are allowed to buy it and have the money, no gathering, no conference calls no bullshit. Good Luck with whatever you decide to do. John

I hear ya JD. I hate selling cars because its one in a million who see it want it and have the money...
Theres no serious buyers "over there" just vultures who want it for nothing. I think Im going to sit it long term and forget about it for awhile til things turn around. Maybe one day Ill come back to it. I never planned on selling this one but had NO idea a car like this would be so hard to get rid of...Youd think..

The sad reality is that the ZR1 is NOT a collector car.

It is an exotic that people percieve as being expensive to care for. To a degree, that's correct, but it is not yet old enough to reach collectors status.

It may not, either, because it is part of a less than desireable corvette generation. The C3, from a styling perspective was a tough act to follow, but the C4 did it with grace and an element of elegance, not outright flash.

Will the C4 (and as an extension, the ZR1) catch the wave? Only time will tell.
