Good Morning CGs!

Brrr. Gonna be a whopping 36 degrees today. Awesome. We had to turn the heat up a couple degrees in the house it's so cold out. Ugh. Apparently there was pretty good snowfall just east of us last night, mostly Indiana and Michigan. We were pretty lucky and only got a few flurries. Vette will be parked until the next sunny day. I'm still driving it, though, til it gets torn down.

So what's on the agenda for today? Work? Play? A bit of both?

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Unseasonably cold here too. Projected high of 40 today and down to 22 tonight. This is like the dead of winter weather for around here. My brass monkey's balls fell off.....

They're tellin' us low 40's in NC. Doesn't the weatherman know about global warmin? I don't know, but someone needs to get him in the loop.

Use to be I loved the cold. If the temperature was more than my age, I was sweatin'. Little tougher nowadays to generate heat with these sticks like they are.

(but I AM thankful, really, I could be like the other guy - room temperature)

Florida cold today. 50's. It messes up all the visitors wanting warm. Although the Canucks will be walking around in tank tops talking about how warm it is today.

Just got off the phone after a 1 1/2 hour retirement counselling tele-conference. Three more papers to send in and about 6 weeks to go. After that, I'm feeling more and more like a dancing banana.

Later today I'll be off to construct a pumphouse.

Good Morning Gurus!

Hey, that's good news Crash!

My brand spankin' new 15" MacBook Pro should show up today or tomorrow. Kinda psyched about that. NOT psyched about the other $3,000 I am gonna have to spend on software to make it do all the video editing and graphic design work. Grrr...

Or the OTHER $3,000 I might have to spend on camera gear.

My company is slowly backing out of the deal they said they were gonna give me on this equipment. We'll see how bad it gets before I tell them to shove it!

Started well - finally managed to find an entrance to our work parking deck that does not scrape the underneath of the 'vert 'vette! So of the 4 entrances, and 4 exits, I have to use the entrance #4 and exit #3. Every other combination sounds horrible (scrape, scrape).

Good day!

Can I vent a little?

OK, so I have my laptop shipped to a friends house, because he's basically retired and doesn't do anything.

So I let him know my laptop was on a truck and being delivered today. Now, he knows as well as I do that FedEx delivers before 10:30 most of the time.

What does the fuggar do? He decides to hop in the shower at 10:20, and whaddya think?

Of COURSE they friggin' try to deliver it while he's in the shower!

AHHHHHH! This dude sometimes doesn't even have the motivation to TAKE a shower every day, and he has to take a shower at 10:20 on the day he is supposed to snag my laptop.

I know everything happens for a reason, but I'm still a little disappointed with him.

FAHK!

OK, done. Thanks for your time.

I've upgraded several PC's and Laptop's to SP3 without a hitch.

Did he have something "odd" loaded?

Well, I had an interesting day today.

I got into work, after some doorslambing azzhat decided to wake the entire hotel up @ 3am.

My boss wants to talk to me about the meeting we had yesterday.

They need an engine management system that can run a 50cc engine on gas, carb, fuel injection, direct injection and diesel. As well as take data sample in the 100k hz range for monitoring combustion.

I laid out several ideas for them, lot of work over the weekend.

So today their telling me they want to wait on the system till they prove the current design will turn over, not to meantion run, which is understandable.

The bad part is do to the cost of the system they can't afford they can't afford to keep me on till the engine is running, and they asked if I could come back in three weeks!

(WHAT???!!!)

I told them they could try, but I can't guarantee anything.

Did I meantion I cancelled both a dentist appointment and another job interview to start there last week?

it's cold

it was blizzardy

people are driving like they've never seen snow before - in freaking cleveland

on my way home there were cars everywhere sliding, in ditches, missing turns. apparently there was a ton of ice under the snow on the roads and people dont know how to drive slow. i came up over a hill to see 6 cars trying to get up it, sliding down it, sideways across the whole road. i let them all get in their lane and coasted by and going up the other side i was behind a 4x4 canyon who was going up sideways since foot planted is the only way some people understand snow driving when you aren't moving as quick as you want to.

one moron had his tahoe stopped in a nasty icy intersection and he was brushing snow off his hood - in prime "if someone goes 1mph too fast through this turn you get pinned between two cars dumbass" position.

so i got home and hooked up the plow on my plow truck and a brake line blew out. i capped off the rear line on the m/c till i get a warm day because the truck won't go on the road all winter except to go half a mile to the gas station once or twice.
