Damn, just missed out on it.

Read the build sheet receipts at the bottom of it.... I personally have "never" seen such a blatant waste of hobby funds in my life.... the money spent on paint is 10's of thousands, and yet its not painted ?? The money spent on the stereo system and its servo's are tens of thousands !! Just crazy & stupid-ass stuff !!

The buy-it-now is going down... this has been on ebay before.

The car is a joke, really. Someone spent a shit load of $$ on a lot of high tech (and some good quality) equipment. All on a car that was new when this started, and is now just old.

A shame, really...

I have read more on this..... here is some of what the guy reported to spend on this gaudy-ass "un-painted" build.

$ 21,700 - LPE for 383-700R4- and I assume Dana 44 with 3.54 gears.

$ 6000 - Design Tech Enterprises (DTE) - Prototype work
$ 2000 - Desgin Tech Enterprises (DTE) - Draw on Lazer FX muriel I think.
$ 5000 - DTE - more artwork
$ 5000 - DTE - even more artwork
$ 3000 - DTE - even more of that bottom of the hood artwork
$ 7600 - DTE - nope, $ 21,000 wasn't enough, needed to spend close to $ 30,000 for that all important bottom of the hood superman/iron man in space picture or whatever it is.

$ 4100 - Greenwood - for that freaky bigwinged body kit
$ 1100 - Greenwood - wasn't gaudy enough, needed another $ 1100 to increase gaudiness.

$ 10,100 - Clints custom trim shop - for that most wonderful interior foam..... wow !

$ 49,800 - Car Tunes - Audio/Video custom fabrication and all that stuff..... LOL... Wow !! Could have had a brand new C6 for the partial cost of the automation in this car or a slightly used C6 Z06 !!!

$ 2700 - Car Tunes - Not done yet, $ 49,800 couldn't possibly be enough.... .needed another 2700

$ 1200 - ICON TV - for the TV ---- Over 52k spent with Car tunes, and it didn't included the freakn TV !!!!

$ 18,000 - Roly Fernandez - Roly needed $ 18000 to do "protowork" on the base/clear paint..... seriously, thats what he needed to do with 18,000 dollars !! The car isn't even painted !! ..... Roly gotta feed his 12 kids you know !!

$ 2100 - Brian "Bear" Kling - Final payment for audio/video work to Bear...... Somehow, the $ 52000 above wasn't enough, Bear had to come in and save the day.

$ 645 - Modern Concepts - Rework the custom install..... LOL.... guy spends close to $ 60k with Car Tunes, Roly & Icon TV..... and it ain't right !!!! Modern has to save the day !!!

Unbelievable is all I can say about this...... I could have "truly" built a world class car with the absolutely foolish money he dropped on this ride in all of the wrong places.......

There are a lot of items that are impressive. The detail is excellent, but the entire concept is sooo over the top.

It needs toned down about 50%.

I gotta wonder if this wasn't a case of some vendors taking advantage of a kid who came into an inheritance or something..... if yes, then shame on them. I know some of its nice work, but not at those dollar values its not.

no. I don't think so.

I think it was a fantasy gone nuts.

I honestly beleive that someone had a shop and a shit load of money, with the desire to built the ultimate. To prove their shop was the "best" and it just took too long for the best to be built.

I think the ad said the only things left was paint and some re-assembly of various parts. With that said, its clear they ran out of money for the project considering they're trying to sell it un-finished, which makes no sense at all.

I think they should have completed the basics of the car such as engine/paint/driveline etc "before" investing 30k on an underhood muriel that is just goofy in the first place and close to 60k for a custom stereo/dvd/tv.... and 18k on base/clearcoast Protowork is just crazy...... could have a first class, completely finished show winning type paint job complete for that amount and still have change leftover for a European vacation.

Honestly, if they spent what they say they did on the car, not including the original cost of the car.... they could have bought a new 09 ZR-1 "and" a new 09 Z06...... which both are twice the car that is in all facets.

Oh well..... I just found it unbeleivable what people do with their money. But, I guess some could say the same about me considering I have recently spent over 10k on my C4.... and I'm not done and its all in the name of going faster, and I know many do not understand that need.

Not my cup of tea, but you have to admit the work is excellent. with a lot of money you can buy some great cars but they are not customized and thats what some people want. some folks just go to far for me.

I don't think there's a real car. I think the ebay cops
should bust his chops!

Last time it was on ebay, it had a $4 billion list of expenditures, NOT RECEIPTS, but supposed expenditures. The only thing that lent a hint of legitimacy was, 'Transportation of vehicle to the music shop, and transportation back from the music shop'.

If it's a real car, am I gonna' pay for 'transportation'? hahaha.

I think it might be a scam...

When that car is finally purchased and repainted it will do great on some of the big city car show tours where all the wild and custom freaky stuff is shown to the general public.

It would never survive a Corvette show but would make the crowd real happy at a "World of Wheels" type venue.

Obviously the guy needs money now or it would be painted for the sale.

I would have a hard time spending that much money on a 87 when you can buy a brand new loaded vette, or as mentioned a fairly new used Z06 for the same money. When I bought my 08, I found a 06 Z06 for about the same money with 11,000 miles. I went new and A6 so the Fiance could also drive it.

I like the hood scoop, I like the rear ducts, I like the middle buttons. Thats about it. I don't like the spacey look thats kinda weird...It would take to much time to make that car look the way it was meant to look like.

One other thing worth mentioning... if this is a long term project, which it looks to be, all the audio/video equipment is probably way out dated. I can't see anybody in their right mind spending the kind of money they are after.

I never get tired of looking at that joke.

Yeah, the audio/video is probably 15 years old. The tires are probably dryrotted.

That artists rendition is way different than the car.

Man, mine looks like shit, I think I'll hire an artist to make a photo of it for ebay...

Aside from the motor, the car is worth less now than it would've been had he let it sit unmolested with 130 miles on it.

It might sell for 20K at most, to some other crackpot.

It is amazing to me.... the concept is horrible and then the money spent to execute the concept is mind boggling.... tens of thousands spent on body/paint, and yet its not painted. I just cannot even get over that..... and its a 140 mile car..... so you know the body was perfect to begin with.

The Motor, a stroker LPE motor is nice, but why is it a 388 cubic inch motor ? That typically means its a 60 over 4.06 bore motor with the 3.75" stroke...... translated, that block is done..... no freshening it..... it goes to boat anchor school after its done there.

This vehicle would be worth more money if it was bone stock considering its very low mileage..... would be a collectors car and would possibly belong in a museum..... now, it belongs in a freak circus.... that is, if it was finished.

But, the most amazing thing, with the money spent thus far, they could have had a new 2009 ZR-1, hence a true supercar, PLUS a new 2009 Z06, PLUS an expensive month long European vacation....... truly amazing.

This guy must be a beauracrat responsible for budgetary decisions within our government.... no other possibility exists.
