Well, the guy who fills in for me at work has been sick, so I've been working my ass off. Been hitting NASCAR races on the weekends, so not much free time. Been to 7 races so far and two more to go.
Then there's the drag race schedule and vacations.

Spreading myself a little thin, but the wallet gets fat when I work, so it's not a bad thing.

It'd be nice if you guys would move back east, make my weather reports much easier!!!

Things are going great, but we haven't had a Corvette Challenge for over a month, next Saturday we start back up.

Not anymore,Florida is no longer desireable, too many Jersians and New Yorkers, no change of seasons, too many people in general, andthe way people drive, Oh my God!

I'm looking for something that has some cool air, but yet still some warmth.

NJ will be my home for the next ten years definitely until I retire, but I'll probably buy a second home elsewhere. Just don't know where yet. Costa Rica and Panama top the list.

I loved my tours in Panama (one was for 40 months) but it is not on my list of retirement places....I like to drive FAST too much......

As for the hot or hot and wet....temps can get pretty cool at altitude in the mountains....

However, the beer in Panama is cold and the locals are mostly friendly......

I liked Panama better when Noriega was still in power the crime rate was much lower.......(and carnival used to really rock back in his day)...although it may have changed its been about a year and half since I was back down there......

Wow, it's only been a year since I replied to this thread.

Here's an update, just bought a new house. 4br, 2.5 bath, living room, dining room, family room, big kitchen and a two ca garage with a six car driveway.

The wife already has plans to build a new 3 or 4 car garage in the back yard, but that may be a while.

In the middle of redoing the kitchen, the previous owners weren't as clean as they appeared. They spent a ton of money on landscaping, but nothing inside the house.

I've been finding all sorts of "creative" wiring in the kitchen, so fixing all that up as well.

My commute to work is now 6 miles longer, but still less than 10 miles overall.

BTW Andy, loved your article on the rear suspension in CE.

Anyway, the wife bought me a brandy new computer with all the goodies for my birthday, so I'm sure I will be playing around with that later today.

Hope everyone is doing well.

Sorry for my delay! When you posted, we were in the midst of our own move!

Sounds like a nice place... and you bought what wanted to avoid, a polished turd. We moved because our landlord needed to sell. They offered it to us, but the price was way too high for a house that had been a rental since 1968! I know where all the skeletons are buried!!! And the termites.

So they are now fixing it up, redid the floors, painted it all up, put in some pretty flowers and in general, polished a turd... I feel sorry for those who buy it... I keep thinking back to that movie, "The Money Pit."

Scary stuff.

Hey Frank - how's it going man? Married life seems to be treating you good.
It is freezing here in Michigan (mid December). Got some projects to do on the Vette this winter but it is too cold on the old finger tips. I could heat the garage with my kerosene heater but one project is dealing with the intake and some leaking gasoline. Open flames and leaking gas are not a great combination.
The bunch I hang around with now are mostly C5s, C6s, several Z06s (C5 and 6) and a couple of the C6 ZR1s. I just can't run with them with the L98 any longer. Time for a supercharger?
I am hoping Santa gets me one of those Amish quartz heaters. I hear they are safe around fumes.

Do an LS7 conversion. Seriously. By the time you buy a blower and tune that ancient computer, you might as well get a used LS7 with harness.

It would be bad ass.

I just bought a quartz at Home Depot - $45. It has a lo speed fan. The radient at 8 ft is a lot. I've only tried it when it was 30* outside. Had to turn it to the low setting after 2 hours in my 2 car garage.

On the hi setting (1500w), the cord barely gets warm.

Hey everyone, just posted some pics from my crab trip in the chat area.

Attendance was downlike every other event I've been to, but still fun.

Was 9th in points for the Corvette Challenge 2010, not too shabby, so far this year, three first round losses out of three events, gotta get my act together.

Frank,

The fact you had fun is more important than the turnout. I'm sure I don't have to tell you that. Two weeks ago I organized and held our 38th Annual Spring/Summer Car Show. The attendance was down from past events even after adding judged events for GM Muscle Cars and Classics. It was advertised for months... I had Harlan Charles there from GM. I had a new 2011 ZR1 Centennial Edition, New 2012 Carlisle Blue Grand Sport and still attendance was lower than expected.. Oh, the weather was perfect too. I expected at least 150 cars and only drew 110. I was prepared for 200. I don't know what it takes to get them out, but like I said in my other post, sometimes the stars and planets need to be in alignment for some people to get out to an event!

We got to keep planning and doing these events or it will dry up and go away. I love doing this stuff and we have fun even if it is just me and my Corvette that show up at some of my events!

Oh yeah... another thing I noticed was there were about 50 Corvettes in the "Corvette Only" parking area that could have been registered and in the show, but chose not to be for whatever reason. If I could have got those guys involved it would have been a winner!

Great to see you posting, Frank! Hope you make it a more than once a year habit!!!

Glad the cruise went well, if not smaller. Do you think it's a waning of popularity or a more complex $$$ issue, because really, it's not an expensive day out. Unless you make it so.
