Thanks man! I am comfortable with the installlation but I have a garage with a fridge full of beer and you are welcome anytime.

I have stockpiled for one marathon session for my LT4:

1. Cam for LT4 --- May be or may not be a Hot Cam.

2. EM coated longtubes.

3. DeWitt radiator.

4. Port matching head and intake.

The other thing, Tommy, is that if you CAN'T do the work, you are armed with more info.

At times, folks have taken prints of threads (from CF, I donno if it has happened here) to their mechanic to assist them in fixing their Vette.

Not all mechanics are Vette specialists, so they need some direction. It doesn't mean they are bad techs, tho.

I think you'll find the changes to be much simpler and easier to navigate. Less 'things' to clutter your vision - at least that's how I feel!

Where does it say it is a HotCam conversion? It is my toy that I drive when I want to feel good. Extra Horsepower feels good.

I purposely left off the pedigree of the replacement cam to head off the HotCam debate and I'll be damned if it didn't happen anyway. All I care about is lifters. Let's try to stick to that!

I could care less if it's a hot cam or a cc306 or anything else. You are wanting more power. Spend the hundred bucks on the lifters or don't.

I had heard about a purge there... same thing has happened everywhere.... it's rather tragic.

I donno if you all realize this, but bastet44 and I met on on CF... nearly 5 years ago. So that place was very special to me. It was much like a divorce when they canned me. But by the time they did, it was a real relief. I didn't feel comfortable there anymore and I sure as hell didn't want to add to IB's coffers.

It took about 3 days for the shit to hit the fan, but once the ball got rolling, it was insane.

A couple of stats:

This version of Guru came up in Sept 2005. As of Dec 20, 2007, we had 825 members, now we have nearly 1070.

In that same time period, we had accumulated about 8000 posts. As of last count, we have now just under 20k posts. That is 12k posts in about 7 weeks. Versus 8k posts in 2 years and 3 months.

So yes, there has been rapid growth. You have no idea how glad I am that we went to the new host... www.cyberbite.com has been excellent!

Yes, I am afraid of YOUR Camry...

Back to the membership issue. If 20 posters was all I thought we would ever have, then I would be concerned. We would run out of things to talk about. You know... Like me and my wife....

But I don't think we are stagnant. And if you add other generations to the mix, then that will be sooooper! And it will make me want to buy a C3, which is not necessarily a good thing....

What's wrong with 160 degree T-stats?

I ran one in my '97 Blazer for 5 years. Just changed it out to a 185 , along
with new Dexcool. 5 years from now, I'll put another T-stat, and new Dexcool in. Again.
Never had a problem, such as what all the experts claim I'll have problems with; Gas milage, emmissions. BLAH BLAH BLAH.

Haven't fail an emissions test yet. Gas milage is still the same as the day I bought it; crappy.

Having small and tasteful stickers we can put on our Vettes that have the website on them will help too.

There is more on the near horizon.

We are growing out from just being a C4 site... we have to to grow and survive in this market. I mean, do we REALLY want to be content with just the same 20 or 30 folks? It sounds fun, but then all we have is a clique that will be hard to break into - and there are enough sites like that already, we don't need more.

I am waiting for word from EMI, the firm that handles Corvette licensing for GM. Then again, if I don't hear from them shortly, heads will roll... I emailed an info request and called/left VM... no word. I guess they don't care if we sell t-shirts with the name "corvette" on it.... oh, well.

Are you installing the cam yourself? If so, I wouldn't mind lending a hand just to gain the experience. I'm pretty sure I'd be a little bit more helpful than a trained chimpanzee. Also, if you're interested, I'm a member of the Grand Sport Registry and have access to a step-by-step illustrated Hot Cam install guide. I know it's not a Hot Cam but I'd think as far as the R&R is concerned, a cam is a cam. Let me know...

There certainly was some momentum building around New Years with all the defections. I like the rapidfire approach.

I got a PM from a C3 guy, and he indicated that there has been an equally large exodus from C3 over at CF... they are over at DC now, but are getting tired of the show and shine nature of that site.

Once we become more multi gen friendly, he is bringing is buddys over!

Most exciting.

I also heard that onedef92 has bailed from CFOT, he is now over at DC and doing well... CF is killing themselves one good member at a time.

OK, I'm running Vista on my home computers now, and with IE7,
there's no longer a refresh Icon. (But I know F5 key is refresh).

So, how do others keep current in this thread.

And, does anybody know how I can add the refresh Icon button to the toolbar?

Do you have the address or url bar at the top of your ie7 page? If so there should be 2 green arrows at the right end, opposing top to bottom, this is your refresh Icon.

Where'd my last post/questions go?????????????
