Greetings! Yep, I could get used to short weeks in a hurry. Windier than hell here, and spitting a little rain. Back to the grindstone, and I forget what I was grinding last week.

Have a good one!

Good Morning CGs!

Well I forgot to set the alarm last night and overslept this morning! Oh no! Luckily it wasn't too bad, only about 25 minutes, which is about what I spend on the computer doing my morning stuff. Still rushed a little bit to get out.

Did a run last night and the wind was terrible. Running into a 25 mph headwind sucks! Still ran a pretty good time for what I did. Quads are sore right now. I've got a 5k race on Saturday, so I might need to back off the next couple days.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I'm having a hard time getting going this morning. I think I'm in rebellion to anything that isn't fun or easy. Nice here today! Went to the Husker game saturday and had a good time. We won easy and it was a perfect night for football. It's a hassel to drive in and fight the crowds but when our freshman quarterback runs in 46 yards on the 3rd play of scrimmage and me and Ultraboy are going wild, it's priceless! Ok, Guru's let's get fired up out there, there is money to make. Have a good time today!

Hope you have a great day.

A little excitement here - a water main broke by our office building, washing out the ground under the sidewalk, and somebody fell in and had to be rescued. The street is blocked off and there are fire trucks and police cars all over the place. A lot of standing around looking at the job.

Crazy day. Was up at 02:00 AM. I was thinking about why my 90s climate control is so wacky so I got up and took a Benadryl. Figured is would take at least a half hour before I'd get drowsy so I started looking for answers. Vacuum lines, climate control buttons, programmer is what I have to go through. When I get the controller out I'll look for loose wires. Cut a finger while cutting back a vacuum line. Little cut, lots of blood. Fricken bleeding and trying to put some dilectric grease on the t. Stopped the bleeding then it starts sprinkling on me. My wife is laid up with a backache. Getting ice for her every hour. Today is her B-day. Got a call first thing in the morning and had to go to the nursery to take down some security cameras and move some wiring. Let's just say it has not been one of my better days. Doesn't look good for the rest of it either. She has a 2:00 appt with the chiropractor. She is trying to get seen at the local back pain clinic at the hospital. My dash popped up in my Yukon. It cracked from the heat. I had stored a A/C pressure guage in the back of the 90. Went to take it out and the lens had fogged and broke. Another victim of the heat. Some days .... I'm tellin ya, some days ..... I have a ton of stuff to do.

I'm fine when I just have to deal with my stuff. It's when another member of the household starts piling on their crap that it starts to get a little testy. Starts jammin up my plans. Wants me to step in and run the business because she gets screwed up. Ahhh ...... No!. I know why married guys don't want to quit working. Somebody else would like to work you into their plans. No wonder guys went to hang out at the horse track, casino or any other place they could hide. I imagine it was much better when there were no cell phones. I feel a rant coming on ..........

I have the triple whammie today. I'm tired, I'm hot and I'm angry.

Mojo for a better day tomorrow, Tommy, and happy birthday to your missus! I bonded with my new car the other day - I was scrubbing down the insides of the wheels (from the outside, shoulda just taken them off but was too lazy), and suddenly noticed someone was bleeding all over the shiny wheels. BTW, I discovered that melatonin works pretty well for getting a good night's sleep.

Yea, I hope to have it done by Turkey Day

I' also rearranging, like 35 cans of spray paint are now on one shelf instead of 4.

And finding stuff, like 3 tyvek paint booth suits I forgot I had.

Also found a '67 Corvette bare frame.

I was a loadmaster back then and maybe things were more relaxed during Vietnam era. I was able to get a backseat ride in a F4 several times. The F4 is a rocket with wings and they are still flying them today. Only base that I could hook up with was Shaw AFB, ironically that is where Jay is based right now. He is crewchiefing F16s in Iraq, but thinking seriously about cross training to loadmaster when he gets back to the states.

I was working the flightline when the F14, F15 and F16 were testing in Europe. USAF was still actively using F4s and F111s. They were a treat to watch in the mid 70s and they're a treat to watch today. I used to cruise the flightline whenever something new came to town to get up close and take a peek. C5s, C141s and C130s on one end and fighter bombers on the other. Ya, I got the picss to prove it. Army had a Cobra repair shop there too so watched plenty of tests on those too. Sat in the jet blast on many a take off. Those were the days. And the smell ....smelled like ..... Victory.

USAF guys were crazy when we board for a mission! They would say "shit" were all going to hell on this one! Honestly the load master would want more weapons on board rather than their standard issue .38. His name was crazy Jim and always had coffee for us. He confessed one time he hated heights, could never figure out why we carried silenced .22 and AK 47

I had a 82nd Airborne 'nutcase' grab me by the parachute harness and try to drag me out of the plane with him. Problem is that we were dropping at 1200 ft and my chute needed 1500 ft to fully deploy. The troopers were on static line, I wasn't. I had to stick him to get him to let loose. Then we had a rather nutty one star that wanted to jump and clearly shouldn't even have been allowed on the plane - he deployed his reserve chute as he was exiting and nearly killed himself. Lot of Army idiots (draft fodder) back then.

I still have a few survival manuals, bugs and worms complete nutrition in the jungle, waterboarding and chemical introgation, pressure points. My Kbar, USDivers Dive knife, my sea bag, and ear collection.
Erin knows, she took my ear collection to school for show and tell when she was in the fourth grade. Project was what did your dad do when he was 19. She thought it was dried figs, I had to talk to the teacher on that one.
