Did I miss an earlier thread? What happened?

Looking at the car, it looks easily fixable. Majority of the damage appears to be body work... now, just because every body panel was busted...

Still, the frame and suspension look intact.

I guess, He sent me the link to the photos and the one of his head this morning. He is very lucky!

Also, he is praying for that car to get totaled otherwise it would really suck! CARFAX would not look good on it for later resale. He was just in a bad place at the wrong time and got caught up in the whole mess. I would imagine that company of the crane which accidentally pulled the power lines down across the road and caused this multi-car accident should cover everyone!

The accident he was involved in is about halfway down the page. He was on his way home from the Mid-Ohio ALMS Race

Now he has an excuse for everything. Ever since they stapled my head ............... Hope he heals up quickly.
Life first, property later. If they fix it then he'll be in the market for a late model Vette I would imagine.

it doesn't look totalable.

Think about it, they have to reach 80% of the retail to total it. And the airbags didn't deploy!!!

I know why he wants it totalled, but since it appears to be cosmetic, I would let them fix it. My guess? $17,500.00 and it's fixed... including a full repaint.

Glad he's ok, sucks big time about the car. Looks like a perfect candidate for a factory five body swap!

My opinion, it will be totaled. In my mind, I'm at about 30k, just with what I see damaged and knowing what will be damaged underneath it. Rear tub alone is 5k. The door area is not a hit friendly area for a cheap repair. Both front and rear impact braces will need to be redone. Carbon Fiber fenders, headlights are not cheap.

IMO he should be able to get a ZR1 out of this deal (Looks to me like he has the pain and suffering part wired)

Don, I hope that Bill recovers quickly and that they can either fix his car to his satisfaction or they total it, so he can get another. BTW we have the same last name, I doubt though that we are related.

He goes in to see a neurologist today. He has been showing some classic concussion symptons this week, like nausea, headache, dizziness etc. He's still out of work and not driving. I haven't heard from him in a couple days, so I'll ping him later to see how the visit to the neuroligist went.

A bunch of our guys are up at Summit Point Raceway in WEst Virginia today doing a Friday at The Track. Bill was supposed to be driving there today and it wouldn't surprise me if he went up there after the doctors visit to watch the racing. I know I would like to!!!

I hope there are no long term negative effects to this accident... Time will be his best friend here.

Ahhh.... nothing as relaxing as sitting the grand stands at a race track on a warm sunny day... hhhmmmm...

Don I'm sorry your friend has gone through this. Scalp lacerations look deep with the use of steel staples. I pray his recovery is speedy and painfree. Erin
