Not a bad effort, other than the exhaust. I think I'd have kept the original emblems, too.

Looks nice. I have no problems with it.

I would have converted it to a manual trans, tho.

I'm with you on the red interior. White would have worked much better. Other than that, I like it.

The GS came with a choice of all black or red with black interior. This is red with black console.

The real GS did....but this isn't a real one. So why the red interior? Probably was a red interior to begin with.

My 8th grade Corvette epiphany was a Sebring Silver split window with red interior. I still think about that car.

and to answer some posts....yes, I wish it was a 4 spd too, and more so an LT4 w/ a 6 spd, but I dumped enough money into as it is. Yes, the red interior is the original color, the car was white originally.

My volt arives in November so anyone who would like to buy my baby, feel free!

It is gorgeous and as you can tell if any one of us had the $$ if would be sold already.
I saw that you posted it on Corvetteforum too. I hope that it goes to a new owner who will love it as much as you obviously do.

Welcome aboard!

Paint looks well done - is it professional or did you do it yourself?

The rims are kind of hard to see. Did you use 17" replicas with spacers?

The paint was done by a friend that only paints fiberglass. He gets all the warranty work for a bass boat company (can't recall the co.) so it is a top notch job. There are of course the typical chips behind the door on the leading edge, but that's what happens with a driver. I put fiberglass bumper covers on it too when I did it. Yes, the wheels are AFS replicas built for the 84-87ish offset w/ spacers but have the correct center caps, they aren't just black, but have the emblem in them.

....and now it's on ebay, I guess they changed it so you don't pay insertion fees and only pay if it sell. Not willing to pay for some bid happy jackass with no intention to buy.

How do you like your 383? I was sooo close to doing it when I did the engine and tranny, but wanted to keep the reliability and of course keep the rubber on the tires. I heard at the time that the machining required gets close to the water jacket and that just freaked me out....

I like it, lots of power available.

The 383 isn't really a threat to the block as far as the machining goes. It's so common nowadays. But once you start adding in the machining costs plus the rotating assembly and everything it starts to get pricey. But that's our hobby

Here is a 79 I saw at a Corvette show a few years ago that was put on by the Battle Creek, Michigan Corvette club. It is a 79. The last pic is of the sign board and was from a magazine (Corvette Fever?) article on the car. It actually looked pretty nice in person.
