Looks clean. Looks like you'll have your hands full. Black is beautiful. At least for a little while.

I think I'm a pretty good "detailer" when it comes to keeping cars looking their best...I'm doing some research right now on the best way to care for deep black finishes, to make sure it doesn't start suffering from obvious swirl marks after I get my hands on it!

Ya. I'm just busting your chops a little. Black looks great. It takes dedication to keep it looking that way. I have two black cars so I'm familiar with the dust settling on it before it's fully dry. You can go inside for half an hour, come out and say ....... What? Unless your going to keep it in a garage, dusted and covered. Are you?

Damn, that is HOT.

Except there appears to be something wrong with the shifter. Why is there no horizontal travel?

Har Har Har!! I'm reading more and more articles where the ZR1 and Z06 cars are getting automatics transplanted these days!!!

Bill - It looks awesome dude and you should be grinning from ear to ear when you pick it up. Us guys with vertical shift gates have to stick together you know!

I remember years ago when I bought mine for the first time; at least for the first week or two I would continually open the door from the kitchen to the garage to look at the Corvette sitting in MY garage. Its hard to describe the feeling!!! Welcome to the fun!!

BTW - I still go open the door now and again!!

Beautiful car, and the fastest color, too! You'll love it compared to the 79. When I drove my dad's 79 and my 89 back to back I couldn't believe the difference in ride quality, handling, and performance. C3s have that cool factor, but the c4 outperforms them hands down.

Great comment! Yeah, I kinda miss having some "Horizontal Travel", but the good thing about the auto is that in a town like Louisville where there are traffic lights every couple of blocks, I don't have to spend my cruising time constantly downshifting for all the red lights! (I speak from major experience on this)
