It's done....freekin' finally. And cleaned up.

The new kitchen has maple cabinets with soft close drawers, upgraded Maytag appliances, 5 burner convection gas range, etc. Blue Pearl granite countertops, a custom built knife storage block that hangs under the cabinets and 18 inch. Tempest Granite porclean flooring.
I did all all the work myself. I had a neighbor help carry the larger cabinets up the stairs and set the microwave in it's bracket but that's the only help I used on the whole project.

The first pic is "before" as in fuging ugly.

Yea, no chit. But no one will see pics after I trash it.

No scratch & dent, but they were on sale, saved $1k.

Ha, I was going to put up a ped board for those but....

BTW the "hooks" holding the pans, etc. are pieces of brass welding rod.

Did the half shafts last week. At least now I don't have this stupid remodel crap holding me up.

I do more stuff to do on the house but it's put off until next winter.

Nice. I like...
the color choices
the cabinet door style with the radiused top rail and flat panel which looks better than a raised panel in a smaller kitchen
the pulls
the hidden hinges
no soffit above the cabinets-it makes a smaller room look bigger and also a place for nicknaks, I did mine the same way
If there's a code out there and you had to get a permit they probably would have required GFI outlets. I didn't put them in mine either.

I like what Joe mentioned, but I disagree and think GFCI outlets are a good idea.

Thanks Joe,

Raised panel = + $700.00 , screw that

About the pulls: the cabinet mfg. wanted $7 each . I saw the identical ones at Home D for $4.99 e , solid nickel. Took the part number off the package at HD and went on the web - $2.19 e with free ship, total cost for the pulls $52.00

The sofits will get LED backlights. I wired a wall switch and receptical in the cabinet above the microwave.
4 - 21 LED panels (18 inches long), dimmer and transformer - $64.00.

Let's see, roof's leaking but it's into the garage. Old kitchen cabinets go into the garage.
Hardwood floor for the guest bedroom but not til winter.

So, yea might even work on the 67 this week, the cabinets will only take about 4 hours. And i can't play with the roof until it stops raining.

That's really incredible. Having just done this I know how much work you just put in...

What was the total time? I think we started about the same time. You beat me...I'm close but still have some things that I will put off until fall. It's too hard to try to do them now so I'm being realistic.

Love the SS appliances, I will do the upgrade as well as it makes the new stuff "pop".

I'm sittin' over here kind of jealous...

Total time was - freekin' forever. I started in late Jan.

If you get SS, stay away from Maytag & GE.

Reasons?

I'll most likely go with price, but I know the stove and Microwave have to match as they're right on top of each other. The fridge and DW will need to be close, but not exact.

The repair guys say GE is the worst, Maytag - the repair guys have been here 4 times on 3 appliances. They're working now but the microwave sucks.

Honestly, all of it's poor quality, even Bosch gets complaints.

My gas range had a bad regulator, the DW had the bolts missing that hold the motor/pump on.
Outside of the micro, their working OK now. The fridge is a new model that's 10% more efficient than an energy star and my electric bill's dropped $20-30 a month (but the old GE fridge ran all the time).

No, I did it cause I wanted an oven that will go to 600 degrees to make the pizza better.

Thanks everyone for the compliments.
