Good early morning Guru's. I did a lot of lifting yesterday and am sore enough that I got up early and took some drugs to make me not so sore.

Had a good day yesterday helping Grandma get ready for the sale. Went room by room going through stuff and hauling it out. The weather was perfect and one of my BIL's was there to help. My daughter and her fiance are going up today as more of the family gathers.

The Corvette ran perfect as I cruised up the blue highways. I ran 65 to 67 mph set on the cruise, a lot of it with my window down. I put 210 miles on that way and when I got back took on 8 gallons of gas. That is 26.25 mpg if I do the math right. Niiiice! It's an economy car.
The avg mpg on the DIC said 26 so it is fairly accurate.

Today some selling to do and then game time tonight for UBoys football team as they try to win two in a row....who knows how long it has been since that happened.

Guru's it's Friday, let's roll right into the weekend. Have a safe one.

Happy Friday! Another nice day on tap, we've had quite a string. Gotta go to a wedding this evening so it's gonna be hard to squeeze in a nap today :-P

Sending a heap of mojo your mom's way, Tommy!

Have a good day, everybody!

Good luck to your mom Tommy.

I'm still reeling from riding around in that splitwindow yesterday.

Guess I'll play with Cotvette parts today.

Morning guys...Tommy, sorry to hear of your mom, prayers said. Marcus, good luck to Uboy tonight. Our team is going to get our butt kicked hard, last years' 2A state champs and they are stronger this year. Bill, a friend (acquaintance), is going to Mid-America Funfest this weekend and is selling his 63 SWC, just in case you're into buying one finished up.

Resized Image

I'll be leaving for the in-laws today after school for memorial service tomorrow....taking the Vette and hoping to get the same mileage as Marcus. Don, keep us posted on the job search.

Got to go, kids showing up.

TB how is your classes going? In many ways I miss the Wood Shop! I guess my Welding Class will keep me engaged in the process.
Partly Sunny today high near 68. Working in the shop today! still have books and stuff when I retired.
My 13 plus year old Collie is having issues this morning! shes getting old and has problems getting up off the U coat it floor. She has a stuffed car from "Cars" movie. Cute and a little sad, she likes to lay her head on it. She likes to lick Carunba wax! go figure.

That would look good in your garage, wouldn't it?

I'm workin' on trailing arm bushings, cut off the center sleeve thru the rubber bushing with a 4 inch cutoff disc. I'm covered in rubber noogies. And the outer steel bushing pieces don't want to come out.
Outside of the fiberglass work, these trailing arms are the toughest part of the build.

Great-looking '63 there, Tom! Maybe my all-time favorite car.

Meanwhile...

1:46 PM The wiener war is over, as Sara Lee (SLE) and Kraft (KFT) settle out of court in their fight over who makes America's tastiest hot dog. Neither side will pay money to the other or change its marketing practices after both had alleged that the other exaggerated claims about which was top dog.

Yes it would look good in my garage. Unfortunately, I don't have the space or money for it. This guy does top notch resto work. Ron, classes are going OK, you know how the first few weeks of school are, honeymoon period, then sh!t hits the fan. So far so good. Bill I've heard that the trailing arms were a b!tch to R&R.

Maximum Mojo to all of my Guru friends in need today, especially to Tommy's mom. Knock 'em dead, Don!

Enjoy the weekend all! Myself, we'll be babysitting my wife's sister's kids tomorrow night, and we have the Corvette club picnic on Sunday. My nephew is learning to play guitar, so I'm hoping he brings his with to our house so we can have a little jam session!

Later,

Ron

Supposed to be my day off, supposed to go to the gym, well - gym double booked and ended up being at work for half of day. sux. Rather be anywhere else. Managed to lose my front air dam last night on the C5 and the one who bought the C4 already has the motor out of it doing a total rebuild. Ugh.... the drama....

I survived the day! With promising results from the interview I was two hours late for!!! Its a long story but many of the main roads have been flooded out over the past few days with our streams and rivers swollen by the waters of both Irene and Lee. Primary highways were closed forcing thousands of commuters to take single paths out of areas that are normally serviced by many routes of egress. I took me three and a half hours to get to my interview which would only normally take 50 to 60 minutes. Regardless I was able to call ahead and tell them I would be late. It all worked out well and have been asked to move forward with the hiring process. I think I have this one! Keep your fingers crossed.
