I am truly thankful for the gifts I have been given. We have had a bountiful harvest. Later I plan to share some with the local Indian trible by inserting some our hard earned money into a collection machine they have set up at a local casino. They also offer a table where money is transfered by looking at two cards in your hand and five layed on a felt table. The dealers collect a portion of every hand that is later distributed among tribal members.
Sharing is caring.

I'm truly thankful that.....I don't have to go shopping on Black Friday.

I could easily end up putting a few hours in a casino today but....it's owned by white guys.

Greetings! What a noble gesture, Tommy! We'll be headed up to my niece's place soon, hope there aren't too many turkeys piloting other cars out on the road.

Have a Happy Thanksgiving, Gurus!

Later that day, one of the crew members went back to the ship and showed the Indians a machine he had brought to The New World. The rest is .....history .......

Note that that's named Liberty Bell, it's a Mills-Jennings machine.

The Mills family has a restaurant (BBQ) here names Liberty Bell. The top floor is full of those Mills machines.

And that's your trivia for today.

HAPPY THANKSGIVING TO ALL.

ANOTHER PRETTY DAY TODAY. WE'RE OFF TO ARKANSAS FOR TURKEY WITH SON AND FAMILY. HIS IN-LAWS WILL BE THERE, WHICH MAKES FOR WAY TOO MANY TURKEYS, BUT THE SEEING GRAND-KIDS MAKE UP FOR THAT.

Morning guys....I somehow missed the chat yesterday. I spent most of the day installing those cabinets I built. Of course I built them to fit an opening, that when I got them screwed together, I find is not square, level or plumb. After quite an ordeal, I got them installed only to find that some dumb-a$$ cut the top of the unit 2 1/2" too narrow....I can understand how I could have "inched" a measurement, but 2 1/2"? We came up with a solution that everyone could live with. The sign of a good carpenter (cabinetmaker) is how well they can hide their mistakes.....

Last night, #1 daughter and hubby hosted a soup dinner with his folks, his grandmother, brother/wife and 2 kids. Excellent food, good company, and it didn't ruin our appetite for the smoked turkey we are having today. We will head over to #3 daughters house a little later where we will be with them, #1/hubby (no kids as they will go with their other family) and #3's hubby's folks.

#1 and hubby are flying out to Vail tomorrow morning, so Rosie and I will have the house to ourselves. Yea, right.

I hope all my guru friends have a great Thanksgiving.

Happy Thanksgiving to all,
I don't get on the chat too often, but I do enjoy reading it every day. I am going over to some friends for the big meal. I'll try not to eat too much, but I usually do. Lots of rest in the afternoon with maybe some pinochle to pass the time during FB games. I've enjoyed the time here on GURU since I joined and have even learned some things. Not bad for an old retired school teacher.

Turkey is in the smoker, I'm sitting here looking at on-line ads and watching swamp people. Wife and daughter cleaning up the kitchen/dining room, getting ready for the onslaught of people. The weather is clear but pretty cool. Although it is warmer than the last few days.

Hope everyone is having an enjoyable holiday. Made it over to the family's house and just finished a huge plate of food. The spread was impressive this year. I might have to go and get a piece of cake....yum.

I donated $80 to the one button bandit (formerly known as the one arm bandit) over the course of several hours. Sue was able to lighten the pockets of the other poker players by $418 so my $80 was a wash. The money we took with us we put back in the kitty and Sue has a few bucks extra to goof around with. She asked me if I needed any money but I don't go anywhere to spend it.

Oh ya!
We had a nice dinner and my son even showed up. I spoke with him but did not look him in the eye that often. He's just as casual as can be. I'll be casual too. I don't hate him. I just want him out of my f@(%ing house.

Well, I actually made enough food to take to my friends AND to my cousin's and aunt's that pissed me off. WEll the cousin did, the aunt didn't but they both get under my skin. I dropped off food to them early, cousin comes in hugs me and kisses me on the cheek. WTF? I looked at my aunt and she said (she's back on her meds)... mmmkkay.. I'll be nice too then - came back and ate with my friends and went back to visit the one in the nursing home for supper, and even took a rug to the cousin I'm pissed at - so there, I did my share. settling in with a bourbon and coke now with my feet up finally - work tomorrow.
