Good morning gang.

We had and are having a dusting of snow. A little lake effect is making it's way here. We should see that die off as the day goes on but there is a cold snap coming. Temps today here in N.E. Indiana start of off in the low 20's and sink to the low teens and maybe single digits.

Word of the day is skookum.

Today is NATIONAL PLUM PUDDING DAY

Celebrated on February 12th, National Plum Pudding Day is a day to learn more about this delicious dessert.

* Plum pudding, also know as Christmas pudding, is a steamed or boiled pudding usually served during the holiday season.

* In many recipes, plum pudding actually contains no plums. The reason for this is in the 17th century, plums were referred to as raisins or other fruits.

* The name Christmas pudding is first recorded in 1858 in a novel by Anthony Trollope.

* Plum pudding is usually made up of nutmeg, raisins, nuts, apples, cinnamon and dates along with other ingredients.

* In England, traditionally every person in the home holds onto the wooden spoon together to help stir the batter. While they are stirring, they also have to make a wish!

* Plum pudding has also been known to be called plum duff.

Try one of the following “tried and true” plum pudding recipes!

http://allrecipes.com/recipe/plum-pudding/

HAPPY PLUM PUDDING DAY!

NATIONAL PLUM PUDDING DAY HISTORY

Our research has failed to find the origin or the creator of National Plum Pudding Day, an “unofficial” national holiday.

ABRAHAM LINCOLN’S BIRTHDAY

Abraham Lincoln, the 16th President of the United States of America, was born on February 12, 1809 in Hardin County, Kentucky.

And it is also Charles Darwin's birthday.

Greetings! Health mojo indeed, Don. Meanwhile, Mother Nature provided another test of the pixels that comprise the minus sign on my truck's outdoor temperature display. I must compliment the manufacturer - these pixels are quite sturdy and perform flawlessly. I would be happier if no further testing of them is scheduled. It did seem a little lighter out this morning, though. Spring can be seen way off in the distance.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Bogus, by any chance are we on a new site server operating out of deep cavern in Sri Lanka or a former bank vault in Indonesia? Did you press a wrong key? The load speed here is reminiscent of my old 14 baud modem and CompuServe browser. Are all the floppy's OK? Call the people at Rand for assistance

I think its sun spots making the site weird.......or the commy's.....around here if anything is strange about the weather they blame it on I80.....before they put that in the weather was normal.....I have heard it many times from the old farmers......

I had a pile of my shop rags and cleaning cloths in a box so I brought them in and washed them in the washer and then dried them in the dryer......did not go over well with the management.....she said....well I can't really repeat it but I have been banned from doing any shop rags in the wash again.......who knew?

Today I have stuff to do so will go now and begin to do that stuff.......enjoy your day Guru's.....

I tell Sue I'm lubricating the moving parts of the washing machine. No really, I mix the shop rags with the detailing microfiber towels to lessen the direct impact. Isn't that why modern washing machines have cleaning cycles?

Sounds like a good excuse to go buy a dedicated washer and dryer for the shop, Marcus. And a dog house.

Morning guys...early morning meeting, then we've been running a reverse schedule this morning, so the kids are confused as to where they are supposed to be. They are out at noon and we have to be here for P-T conferences until 8pm. But we are off tomorrow for a three day weekend.

Got word the other night my older brother was put in the hospital for pneumonia. Last night he took a turn for the worse and they had to intubate him. He's in ICU, maybe I'll run down to see him tomorrow. Not much I can do, but show support.

Calmer day at the office today, temps back down to hell froze over status again today, and lower tonight. I received a text from a male friend that it would be a good evening to run amok about the house naked. Perhaps - I'd suspect you'd not be able to tell us apart if we did, and I'd not have to worry about him leaving the toilet seat up.
Marcus - have a dedicated laundry set in the shop or buy some of those handy 'washer cleaner packs' think Tide makes them to use after doing your rag load. I bring shop rags home too - sometimes just an empty cycle with some bleach/ soap/409 will remove any leftovers... and cook dinner - provide a bottle of wine - then more wine....

Lovely day so far.

Started the day by going to the hospital to declare war on kidney stones. Left side is now good to go. Need to follow up with urologist to plan the attack on the right side. Tomorrow I get to relax and recuperate, back to work on Monday.

I also have cookies to bake tomorrow. Maraschino Cherry cookies with a Hershey's Kiss on top.

Dropped the Impala SS off for 100k service / tuneup last night, pick it up tomorrow. Keeps me from being tempted to drive today.

I saw our weather forecast for Sunday. High of 3, low of -7.

I understand. My first one required them to "go get it" with a clamp. they left a stint in which a week later they had me come in and they removed it. They asked if I wanted to have it removed using a "local" or did they want me to "have them put me out". H3ll, I'm a man, "do it with local." I laid there and the nurse came in and stuck a dull needle in (you know where) and shot it full of something that made me feel like it was going to fall off. Then while laying there the I see the "instrument" they were going to use to remove the stint, and I'm thinking "where are they going to put that thing? H3ll that thing is 3/4" in diameter." Then the doc comes in and says to me, "I've got this nurse in training, do you mind if she watches the procedure?" Sh!t, "I guess it will be alright." So he calls in the nurse in training, a hot 20 something year old, and proceeds with inserting the "anaconda" and while he maneuvers it around and looking through the freaking scope, he's giving the nurse in training a play by play, which isn't settling to me at all. Finally he says to her, "Here take a look." so here she is peering into the scope, up my _____ "You see that little thread? That's the end of the stint." NIT says "Oh that's interesting" He then sticks the clamp into another orifice of the 'anaconda' and feeds it up to the stint and, I swear to God, I can feel him latch on to the thing and when he pulls it out it felt like he was turning me inside-out. So then he stands there showing the thing to her showing all the intricacies. The next thing I know he's pulling the 'anaconda' out of its' hiding place, which again feels like a 15lb weight hanging on the end of my _____.

I decided IF that EVER happens again, I'll tell him, "Knock my ass OUT." Like you for the next 36 hours it felt like fire when I pissed.

I must admit, this procedure was better than the one they have used in the past. Make a incision in the lower back, feed a tube down through it to the kidney, then run the laser down through that. No flaming piss but 6 to 8 weeks to heal and all the time it is draining. Yeah, pissing uncontrollably through a hole in your back is all sorts of fun.

Thank you all for the well wishes. Everything went good today. I saw the cardiologist and 2 good looking nurses and a fairly hot FNP. The lady that did the echo cardiogram sat right next to me on the bed and ran ultra sound wand all over my chest and side. One of the most enjoyable procedures.

But they do feel there is a blockage and I am going in for an angiogram and stent placement in the morning. They say they do it as out patient surgery and I get to watch partially sedated. He said they will probably go in through the top of the hand. The doctor said less invasive than the groin and far less bleeding hazard after the surgery. I will probable be able to go home the same day unless complication occur.
