I can't sell my car !!! I put it on ebay twice and only got a few bids on it. I was asking $6000 for it and now I am going to get a company to sell it for me , it's going to cost me $200 just to have them sell it. Why do you think it didn't sell on ebay ? I put the miles of the car (195,000) and then the miles on the new motor (3,000). What should I do to sell this car, I need the money to buy a 01 Z06. HELP !!!

SIgh... I say drop the C5 envy, put in a real motor, and love your car.

But I've been drinking, what do I know?

good luck. It's a bad economy and no one is buying luxuries.

Ebay?

What do the vette 'Completed listings only' look like?

What are they going for? Or are they all 'Reserve not met'?

The C4 is still too new and there are too many of them left to be rare/collectors cars.
You car has almost 200K on it, and 6000 dollars is unrealistic. Maybe in about 10 years it will be a 6 k car.
If you need 6k from it parting it out may be an option if you have CHERRY parts to sell that are in demand.

I am in a similar situation with my '88(but mine is not as nice as yours appears to be.)

There is just not too many people interested in C4s right now. I hear this all the time.
I have debated parting it out, but it would take a lot of man-power to pull each piece off and ship. I would be lucky to get $3000 for mine the way it sits.

The market for most things is pretty flat right now. Now if you had a certain '63 Pontiac LeMans....
I've got a lot of parts I want to sell but I'm going to wait until after Christmas and until income tax time before I pursue it very much. Maybe your car will move then too, it only takes one impulse buyer. But you'll probably also have to drop the price some, realistically.

Whoa, hold your horses. What company are you paying to sell it for you?

MOST of those "companies" are actually scams that front as a listing/loan brokering/advertising service. They prey on people who advertise in the local classifieds. Don't be fooled by a slick webpage and a fast talker on the phone.

Economy + miles = a lot of competition in the selling arena.
Not a good time to sell anything, great time to buy a truck though.

Good luck, hope it works out for you

I have my 86 that I am getting ready to list. I haven't been in too big of a rush to sell it, as everyone has stated, the market sucks. But, I would like to get mine sold and out of the driveway. Having 4 cars on insurance and being unemployed right now, I could use the $$$ and the insurance savings.

BTW...you will love the Z06! At times I miss my 01 Z06...but then I get in my 08 LS3 and quickly forget about it.

to be honest, the Orlando area should be easier to sell the Vette in than the area that Mojo is in.

A friend of mine trying to sell his truck had the exact same problem..... what he ended up doing was offering the buyers a payment schedule over a year or two, but only offered it to a local buyer who had a home..... he sold it in a single day. He sold the truck for his asking price of 8k and got paid $ 600 a month until paid off. He kept the title, but gave posession to the buyer.... thats all I know about the transaction. You don't get your money all at once, but you do get paid for it.

I think your 92 is easily worth 6k.... even with the high miles. If you have a running LT-1, that isn't dumping a quart of oil every time you start it up.... it should be worth that much in my opinion. Then again, I think the Kelly Blue book would shed some light on it better than me.

good luck !

Have your buddy borrow it and call the insurance company and say it was stolen, tell the insurance company it had 30,000 miles on it and they should pay you $8500. While your buddy is in Mexico sell it again to some mexican for $2500.

Sounds like a potential bad situation.
