Good Morning CGs!

Here we are again. Sitting here eating a little left over pasta and chicken for breakfast. Yum. Nice to mix it up every once in a while.

Got a couple more inches of snow last night. I didn't get a chance to shovel it because it didn't start til after midnight. Looks like they have the streets plowed in my neighborhood, but that doesn't mean the rest of the streets on the way to work will be done. Oh well. Took me about an extra 20 mins to get there yesterday, just have to leave a little earlier.

Don't forget about trivia tomorrow night (well, that goes for everyone except for Jeff )

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Oh boy, another day closer to the weekend!! I got to get my DA photo done up either today or tomorrow. Then next week, validate my file and hopefully this year I make rank. I am so sick of being passed up so they can promote losers. I work my ass off day in and day out, my record and my evaluations even show this yet I keep getting passed over cause some boss wants to evaluate these POS's like they are GODs gift! I get evaluated fairly and I think mine make me look very good but for 4 years I have got passed over. 1st year I did not try to make it but every year after that I have tried.

Good Morning Gurus

Cool start to the day. 55' and dropping. More work on the boat today, maybe take one of the dogs to the vet. 5 years old and his future doesn't look too good. My 16 year old dog is on a week to week basis too. I love my pets and really hate losing them, even if I'm prepared for it. I'm going to well up and cry like a little boy. It's quite a site. 6', 215 lb bearded tough guy. They're not leaving us just yet but the day is coming. I know the day is coming.
Lots to do between now and Saturday prepping for vacation. Most of it is with the boat, rods and reels, tackle boxes etc. This is more like a season prep. I should be good for a while if/when I get this done.

Tommy, sad to hear about your pets.
Too much sad/bad stuff going on right now.
Our thoughts will be with you and them.

Today starts my permanent vacation from work.
Got laid off yesterday, permanently (according to them).
The printing Industry is in the tank, doesn't look like
a turn-around will come anytime soon (if ever). Pretty weak
job market in this area for the past few years, even worse now, so I'm going to relax for a month or two.

Probably won't be making the Easter trip to Fl this year. Bummer.

Well, time to start doing a resume. First time in 16 years I've had to think about it.

Weather sucks here right now. We're getting what pianoguy had yesterday. -40 wind chills tonight, low of -18. Burrrrrrr.

Keep warm.

Same here:
I'm really sorry to hear about your dogs. We lost our oldest Golden last May, and he would have been 12 this year. To be honest, sometimes it still feels like it was yesterday. Friggin Cancer...no warning either..His last physical was 6mo earlier, and had a clean bill of health. One day he was fine, and the next fell on the floor and couldn't get up. I took him to the vet and they found blood in his abdominal cavity, rushed him into surgery, and found a huge tumor directly on top of his heart. If they tried to remove it, we were looking at a 50/50 chance he's survive. Even if he made it through the procedure, there was still the other tumors,chemo/etc, and so we had to let him go. There was no way we were going to let him suffer though the chemo, etc, just couldn't do it...
It was one of the worst days I can ever recall...and like everyone, I've had quite a few...
Fast forward one week, and I get another Golden puppy (Jackson) to keep our 'now oldest' Golden (Ginger) company!
With the 2 dogs, and our 19mo old Daughter, there's never a dull moment, but we still miss Miller terribly...

Sorry to ramble...just wanted to let you know that I feel for ya... :angel7: :angel7:

Good morning, Gurus!

Tommy - sorry to hear about the doggies. When they told us our GabbyCat probably had cancer, it was quite a shock. Fortunately, it was isolated osteosarcoma in her front left leg and we could amputate it. But the thought of having to put her down was terrible.

Mike - sorry to hear about the job. That's sucks.

Matatk - I love regular food for breafast! Mmm.

The Big Guru in the sky has a way of evening things out. Our economy is pretty stable but holy crap it's been cold here in Winnipeg... minus 38C this morning without windchill! I too lost a dog just weeks ago. He was 14 years old and had been with my wife and I since shortly after we married. It was like loosing a kid, and Yeah, I cried too.

Stay warm all.

Tommy, your post made me think of this quote:

then when I die I want to go
where they went."

Not much doing here in Ohio, it's 10* out, I have the flu, and there's about 10" of snow on the ground and more falling.

MINNEAPOLIS (Jan. 14) – Arctic air extended its grip Wednesday with below-zero temperatures stretching from Montana to northern New England and frost nipping the Gulf Coast.
It was so cold Wednesday in northern Minnesota — 38 below zero at International Falls, with the wind chill during the night estimated at 50 below — that a couple of ski areas closed for the day.

Yep -- Did the same last night for my club.
I have been the NCCC Governor for a couple years and turned that over to a great member and friend. I just took over the gavel last night for Corvette Club of America.

We got tons of plans and a great racing schedule for this year. I'm looking forward to it.

Congrats man!

I got some more good news today

Provided my background check goes, and I don't see why it shouldn't, I landed a new contract!

A place I used to work for too.

At the wild animal park near my house, it hit 91*F. This was an all-time record for the day and also the hottest place in the entire nation.

You'll probably see some bikinis here if you check in tomorrow:
