The drive train was never in question. I love the power it offers...the car itself though leaves a lot to be desired.

The cockpit is atrocious and from what I hear quality issues take owners into the dealerships quite often.

I think that drive train is better suited for something like a Fusion or a new upcoming sports car.

We rented a Taurus last month. I was impressed with the build quality of the car. It was tight, the car drove well and rode great with a nice highway firmness about it.

I haven't heard anything on the street that indicates problems yet... but that could be the lack of them being out and about...

I don't mind the dash. It's a bit swoopy, but neat and different.

This is really lipstick on a pig.

Taurus's suck, they're just a rental car. Even with a big motor, they're just a fast rental car.

I would have normally agreed... the last couple of generations of Tauri have sucked...

This is a new car that is much nicer.

Probably is.

I just have a bad taste in my mouth from driving them 35k mi a year from their introduction to 2003 as company cars.

Actually, never had one go into the shop but I got a new one every 60k.
Just boring as hell to drive.

Agreed. The version you are talking about was absolutely a drag... but this new one is very nice.

Saw one at the car show today. It was huge for a "car". It almost seemed like a lowered SUV. When I sat in it there didn't seem to be much legroom for how big the car was. The first thing I did was move the seat back, not leaving much for the rear seat.

I just looked up the height. 60.7"

Wow, that is over 5 ft tall. I didn't realize it was that tall looking at it today! Overall, it looked like a very nice car.

It was a nice car, but for the money I would get something a little more sporty, maybe a used Z06............
