The wild mustangs tend to screw up the neighbors landscaping more than the deer.

Doesn't apply to me since I believe in "non-existent" landscaping.

It's the rare mountain lion or bear that gives me the heebie-jeebies.

I HAVE HEARD THOSE MUSTANGS REFERRED TO AS "EQUINE COCKROACHES" :-)

Greetings! Nice and sunny here, and devoid of deer. I have had to chase off some geese this week, though. Today is garden clean-up day, and we need to fire up the sprinklers, too. It's dry as a bone out there.

So I had this weird problem with a computer last night. I get home from work, and the fans are going like crazy, nothing is displaying on the monitor, and it won't respond to the mouse or keyboard. I powered it off using the front power button. I let it sit for a few minutes and power it on again, same thing. So I powered down again. We ran some errands, and when I got back, I tried again - same thing. This time it wouldn't power down from the button on the front of the case - I had to reach around and turn off the main switch on the power supply. Later, I was going to try booting from a Windows DVD, so I flipped the switch on the back again and powered it up - it started right up with no problems. All I can figure is that something was wonky in the power supply, and turning it on and off reset it. Wacky, but I was happy for a cheap and easy solution.

Have a good day, all!

HOME AGAIN, HOME AGAIN, JIGGADY JOG. CLOUDY AND COOL IN THE NATIONS THIS MORNING.

TRIP WAS GREAT. POSH ACCOMMODATIONS, DARLING WIFE WAS EXTENSIVELY SPA'D, WITH VARIOUS FEMALE PAMPERINGS WHILE I SHOT SPORTING CLAYS, FIVE-STAND, WOBBLE TRAP, ACTION PISTOL, AND A PIG. THE HAUT CUISINE WAS DELICIOUS FOR A CHANGE, BUT NOT WHAT I'D WANT FOR A STEADY DIET. THEY DIDN'T EVEN HAVE CHICKEN FRIED STEAK :-) ROUGH CREEK RESORT, GLEN ROSE TEXAS. FIRST CLASS OPERATION, HIGH DOLLAR, THE KIDS REALLY OUT DID THEMSELVES ON THIS.

CAN'T PUT IT OFF ANY LONGER, GOTTA MOW THE OBSTACLE COURSE TODAY :-/

Good Morning CGs!

Should be beautiful here today, sunny and 76*. Certainly the kind of weather that makes you want to enjoy the weekend, not go to work. Oh well.

I had some Sears surprise points expiring so I stopped by the store yesterday. Got a new pair of Knipex alligator pliers for $10.26 out the door. Not bad for a $25 pair of pliers. We'll see if they live up to the hype.

Tommy - hope you can get your files back.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Moved the refrig and changed the door swing. Then loaded up the old one and delivered it to another house. Then back to #2's house and installed a garage door opener that we bought for her a month or more ago. Came home and sat down in my Lazy-boy and nearly went to sleep.

I know you know tee. I'm just trying to wander around the mushroom patch and people keep pulling me into their realm. It's not gonna change anytime soon, if ever, and I'm never going to get used to it. I don't want to get used to it. I do it kickin and screamin. I try to talk Sue into starting to think about retiring. Then I'll have to find another way to get her out of the house.

Hey guys....slept in a bit this morning, 8:30 so got a late start. A phone call actually got me out of bed. So I'm out in the shop waiting on a guy to show up so I can cut up a sheet of plywood for him. Then off to finish installing hardware on the cabinets I installed last week. While there, I asked what they were going to do with the "old' refrig , so ended up buying that for #2 and headed back soon to get it. Work in the shop building an interior 6 panel door in yellow pine. Beautiful stuff and not very expensive as far as cabinet grade lumber goes.

They are taking about rain here for the next 5 days....I sure hope that pans out we need rain terrible bad. It feels like it could rain now, so they may be on to something.

Tommy, I feel for you. I know how that can go. Brad, I want to be like Bill too when I grow up. Lambo, Bill? And that was quite a surprise pulling up that 'gator.

A day in the life of Tommy T-Bone.

Sue wiped out a bunch of files and programs on her computer Monday when she hit Refresh without reading what the consequences of such a move on her Windows 8 computer might be. The WD Passport backup fell victim to the move apparently and all stored files were erased or the unit was corrupted as it showed no files. I toubleshot and then disconnected the unit and she brought it to a retailer that had success in retrieving lost date in the past. They retrieved some files and stored them in a folder. I told her I don't know Windows 8, I don't know Quickbooks and she should get somebody that understands them to deal with the issue. I'm not a geek. I just use a computer. She uses QuickBooks Pro so she called Intuit to see if they could retrieve any data from the saved files. Here's where the fun begins. She doesn't know what tech support is talking about so she hands me the phone and says you can understand what they're talking about better than me. This begins a marathon session that has me on the phone for 3 straight hours Wed night with a scheduled callback the Thursday. Yesterday I end up on the phone for another 3 1/2 hours as they try to get the data recovered and and an updated version of Quickbooks installed and operational. This leads to folders being uploaded and sent to Intuit's data recovery service which will call me back in 3 to 5 business days with their findings. This stuff gives me a headache plus exposure to stresses I tried like hell to avoid. She's always overextended and loves living in a pressure cooker while I on the other hand like to be left the f@(% alone and tend to my $#!+. Because she has two things scheduled at the same time I get to go sit at a festival tomorrow and watch the booth from 09:00 to 12:00. I hate doing retail and hate dealing with customers and talking about plants, a subject I have a limited knowledge of. Of course if I don't help her then I'm the bad guy. Meanwhile I've been trying to kick the crud, catch up on my stuff which is weeks behind and try to sneak in a little me time all while hating to hear the ring of the phone. I have an interesting tax story too but I've already spouted off enough for one day. Maybe enough for a couple of days. My dreams of retirement were just that, dreams. I envisioned time for books, movies, driving around and staring off into the heavens. Ha! ..... Ha-ha! ....... Ahhhh HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA-HA. There coming to take me away ha-ha. There coming to take me away ho-ho

Good Morning CGs!

Well it should be another beautiful day here weather-wise. I got most of my "weekend" projects done, so maybe I can bum around today? Not likely. Before she asks I already know my tasks today are vacuuming and mopping the floors. That's ok, I can handle it.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Is the bump adjustable on the rear shocks? If so, was it set soft?

You sure don't have a LACK of traction.

Glad you are ok... that had to be scary. The rear tires were off the ground... a little more speed there, and you could have gone over.

I look forward to hearing about the solution.

Hey guys...been off and running since early on this morning. Got two thirds of a kitchen installed, have to go back and finish that up this afternoon.

Yea that looks like something I could really hurt myself using.

Body shop wont' be giving me a raise lol - matter of fact, he's trying to wind down and quit this December. He's 64, he needs to slow down. That's hard work. Me and the other gal try to do our best to alleviate a lot of it for him.
The graphics shop? Raise? Thats' funny right there. I'm self employed here and we're all wanting to leave for that fact alone.
Cause of ... .those taxes you speak of....

We're looking at a 05 F150 FTX Tuscany conversion with the 5.4 L.....
I've had one ford truck in my life and loved it, the gmc runs like a striped ape, had the 5.3 vortec. This one should be comparable?

I am concerned about the offset nature of the impact. It was more on the right than left... and that might have a bad result to my frame.

I really need to crawl under and check.

Good Morning CGs!

Sitting here for a few minutes, getting ready to work out in a few.

Granite guy came last night for measurements. No estimate before tonight. I'm hoping it's not too bad. If it is, we'll be getting granite next year...lol.

Downloaded some app on my phone called offerup. Kind of like Craigslist but it's local and faster. Seems like a good setup. A guy close has a bunch of ratchets for sale...apparently I need them because I keep clicking on the ad. Kind of like Tommy and auctions, can't stop buying stuff I don't need.

Cut the lawn for the first time this season yesterday. The weather is finally taking a positive turn. Looking forward to spring/summer.

Good luck with the raise, Letty. Maybe your leverage should be taking a week off and letting them run things alone to see how it works out for them

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Thanks for the tranny tip...

That's only on the 3 valve motors. If it's a 2 valve motor it's not a problem. Some 4.6 were 2v, some 3v. I think it depends on the package. I think all 5.4 were 3v. I'm not an expert in it. But there is a special tool for it that's not too expensive. The Ford guys run the engine before they change the plugs to loosen everything up and then change them. Guys say they have good luck doing that.

Okay wait... 93mph? Yes! But hold it - 10,000 feet ceiling? mkay but only for TEN MINUTES. In other words, you can get up there fast, get a quick look around before it quits and you come down even faster? Looks fun tho!
Not much work today at the wrap shop - not sure what I'll walk into tomorrow a the body shop. Monday's headache was a fluid leak on a Titan that had been knocked hard. Was almost ready to go home when it was driven one more time and discovered. Power steering reservoir. Got that fixed but then another leak way worse. Trans line on passenger side frame rail wasn't on all the way and it spewed from there. Regular shampoo does an okay job of getting tranny fluid and power steering fluid out of hair. Had a bath as well in three bottles of bleche white and four cans brake cleaner getting all that crap off the underside and everywhere else. I'm asking for a raise if that happens again....
Happy Thursday, just one more day for us working folk..

Not traction control, but tilt?

I don't know how I would even do anything like a tilt sensor. My car is bare bones pretty simple as far as electronics and engine management. The only thing you use it as a trigger to kill power, would be ignition retard or nitrous activation.

As far as traction Control, Davis Electronics makes a TC box all the "street race" guys run (we run them in our dirt late models as well) but it's like 5 grand and my class can't run them anyway.

Really the best thing to do is to use the suspension to keep the car on the ground and pour all the HP I can to it and get it down the track as fast as possible. You'd be amazed what limiting the front travel (extension) or using a strap/chain to terminate it abruptly, will do.... Also I got be better prepared as the driver to recognize what the car is doing.

This was the first nitrous pass on those 275 radial tires and I (as the tuner) just misses the set up, then missed driving (as the driver) properly.... lol.

Greetings! Been busy since the git-go, but it's another nice, sunny day. No jacket required - hope that trend continues.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

Letty - the trans on those f150s likes to go around 120-130k especially if it was used for towing. Make sure the IWE (4x4) system in the front is in good shape, could run you over 1000 to change the IWEs and associated parts. I have experience in both those areas with BILs 05 f150. No worries with the 4.6 engine, it is bulletproof.

Not sure where I was yesterday....in "The Twilight Zone" I guess. Came home from the in-laws place and took about two hours to unload and put stuff away. Today I've been busy catching up on all the stuff that was here waiting on me.

Feels good to have it paid off doesn't it Ken. Happy birthday Marcus, you old geezer!

I haven't seen any damage to the exhaust. I think his bumper was too high...

The exhaust sounds the same (I do have a leak up at the transmission I need to fix)...

Hope Tommy is feeling better...
Happy belated birthday, Marcus!
Congrats on the ownership, Ken - that's gotta make ya happy although other auto bills from another one won't.
My truck search continues, found some we like - seems we're hedging toward a 2004 ish F150 FX4 or F150 Lariat, black on black with sunroof, etc and will end up being a supercrew. Not really what I had in mind but he says "when we go to the lake or somewhere (we) as in "you" take so much stuff and it's nice to have a place for it - or if we decide to take people with us they can sit comfortably.
But - with the F150s, the extended cab is plenty of roomy enough without having to go the full on supercrew. I wanted a regular cab but if he's paying half of it I guess he can have say in some part of the deal, right? LOL
Happy Wednesday, ya'll...
