Play day is over. Today it's back to business. Lots on my plate, Never, ever, a shortage of things that need to be done. I honestly wish my wife would stop bringing shit home. A little stuff here a little stuff there you end up with alot of stuff. I have stuff to fill a 2500 sq.ft house crammed into 1500 square. She brings home lots of dust collectors.

My stuff doesn't bother me, just her stuff.

Good morning! Not too sure what's good about it, as it is -2 out currently. But I guess a lot of folks have it worse. At least I'm upright, so that is a plus.

Enjoy your day!

I heard a homeless couple from Green Bay won a trip to the Super Bowl, worth thousands of dollars. Of course they're going to go, rather than selling the package. Clear thinking like that probably had a lot to do with their current situation.

The forecasters were right about the blizzard. I have never seen blowing snow like this. The Chicago area is paralyzed.
I'm glad I went out with the video cam last night. It was surreal. Now the bottom is going to drop out of the temperature. Nice to be retired. No more commute.

On the upside, they won't have alot of stuff to bring with them to Dallas. Maybe they'll stay. They got free transportation and Dallas might have a better job market. At least it's warmer than Green Bay. Hell, they could probably work the SuperBowl and watch it.

Good Morning CGs!

Got a nice night's rest in the spare bedroom last night. No feet kicking me or fingers poking me in the eyes...and that's just from the wife! Sam decided she wanted to be in there before I even went to bed, so I wasn't fighting it. I just give up.

I did the snow last night, but I don't even know if it was a waste of time or not. There are 3-4 foot drifts outside, including on my front porch. It's insane. And it's still coming down with snow blowing. Guess it's time to go do the dad thing.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

I tried to take a few pics, but it's hard to get a feel for what it really looks like from inside a window taking a small shot. It's nasty out:

neighbor's drive

out the front window

out the front door

ps - I took those today, the camera date is a day off.

Only good thing about the wind. It kept the snow off the roof. I don' feel like crawling up there to remove drifts.

Good Morning Guru's! The sun is shining but its only a trick the temp is minus brutal and the wind chill is even worse.

Tommy take care today it's going to be hot down there, take your sunscreen. I have had 6 spots cut off me and dozens of potential spots frozen off. I have worked or played outside all of my life and I do work at being more careful now.

Matt we love to go to Stuff Mart and get more stuff. We figure we will just build on to the house to hold it all. I have to agree with you that my stuff is way cooler than her stuff. Actually we have had to have the "we have got enough junk around here talk", but then she always wants to go out and look at my shop like there is some corellation there.

Reflections on hitting 1000 posts. A year and a half ago I was needing answers about my car and googled Corvette Forums and actually ended up on another forum that was not CF. Wife came in one day and saw several of the avatars and said that wasn't working for her and I didn't like the way they did business anyway so I looked again and that is when I found the Guru.

I got some good answers and a lot of encouragement and so I slowly started to learn all about my C4. I am still learning and enjoy the interaction between a good group of folks. My question is when do you know your a post whore?
Not that I really care I'm addicted now (or so my wife says)and look forward to hitting 2000 posts and beyond!

thanks for all the help, I will need more! Have a good day guys!

Nothing exciting going on here. Tonight is my one night that I don't have classes so I'll be in the garage. Haven't been outside since I came into work this morning but I hear it's warming up some.
About to go get some lunch so I will find out. I'm glad I know that I won't be walking out into Matt's front yard, that's for sure.

Stay warm everyone. Tommy, you stay cool.

Good afternoon gurus. I took the day off as the counties had a level 1 snow emergency which means only emergency vehicles and personel only out. The police wouldn't pull ya over for being out but if you got stuck or in an accident you would get either arrested or a heavy ticket or both.

We had winds overnight above 35mph with a gust up to 54mph. Only got about 8-10" of snow. Now with the storm past we get to deal with near 0 temps for the next few days.

Puxatony Phill did not see his shadow today so according to him spring is just around the corner. Lets hope the weather does break. No matter what though spring is still March 20 this yr.

I for one will not be considered a post whore at my current rate I think I'll reach the 1k post mark maybe in two more yrs.

I spent around 2 hrs doing the driveway and that was with the neighbor's help. After that we went over and did his for an hour. I wish I took pictures, because my driveway looked twice as bad as the one across the street. About 2 foot or more for almost the entire drive. And I have a 3 car driveway, but my truck was parked on the side which helped a bit.

Tried to use the snowblower but it's just a little one. Plus, looks like the original 15 year old drive belt was just too stretched and glazed to get get any grip and get that snow out of the way. I'll be picking up a new one this weekend.

The news has stated this is the third worst snowfall in Chicago history...something like 20.2 inches.

In 30 years just think what you'll be able to tell your grandkids. That's nothin. When your mom and dad were just about your age I spent around 2 hrs doing the driveway and that was with the neighbor's help. After that we went over and did his for an hour. Thanks Brad! I am relieved that I am not a post whore. In my calculations I have made approx. 2.2 posts per day since I signed up back in 09.

On the other hand your are showing an average of 4.954 posts per day using the same slide rule. Hmmmmmmmm! Is that P.W. territory? Just asking.........

Tommy is hitting the bell with 9.102 texts per day but that is his job and how he makes his living.

Evening guys......crap it's been another really long day. Started out with donuts at school at 6:45, then a faculty meeting at 7, then a committee meeting at 8:45, then I ran home to pick up my GS to bring him up so he could watch some other b-ball games. I got to my shop about 10:30 and at 10:45 there was a general announcement that some water pipes burst over in the commons area where the "A" boys games were being played and they needed everyone over there to help clean up (voluntary of course). So we headed over there and the guy who was scheduled to run the clock in the morning session had bugged out to help clean, so the lady scheduled to do the book was trying to run the clock and do the book, both at the same time.......WTF? So I ran down to the court and took over the clock. The guy assigned had never done it anyway and had it all screwed up, so at half time of that game I re-programmed it and got it set straight. Then I worked 4 more ball games.

Apparently the pipes that broke were part of the fire sprinkler system. They were able to get that water shut off, but then about three times through the afternoon the audio/Flash fire alarms went off, what a freaking mess.

On a good note my GS played an awesome game.....29 points 6 assists, 12 rebounds. And the team that has been there nemesis this season, (#2 seed) and potential next round opponent and hosts for tomorrows round, got beat by the #10 seed. So hopefully they will have their heads on straight for the second round.

Oh it's still cold here....high of 10 today, looking for a low tonight of -10.

I have a mens group meeting tonight so I am headed back out. I'll try and check back in later.

Post Whore? Nah, Marcus you're not even close, Tommy? Maybe but like you said, that's his job.

OK, back to the upper 50's starting tomorrow.

Besides 8-10 inches, I don't even put the chains on my one wheel drive.

In 1990 or 91, I had 8 feet in my driveway. So ya never know.

Good evening guys. Been pushing a LOT of snow. South Bend Area rec. 18.8" of snow with winds exceeding 55 mph. Blizzard conditions where unbelieveable. No school today, snow emergency has shut down everything but the essentials. Snow finally tapered off at 3am. Finished my last snow plow job at 10am Burned over 85 gals of gas. Listened to NPR most of the night when plowing. Good commentary on the middle east problems. Made the mistake of eating a 12" pizza and a 2 litre bottle of
coke bouncing around in the cab of the truck. Try steering, working the plow controls and eat pizza!
Well guys I'm burned out! Have a great night.

Dealt with the same snow most everyone has been dealing with around here.. I am wiped out from shoveling, snow blowing ect...

For those that havent heard.. Last week my Mother-in-law was in a car accident. She was drivng to work, on a country road, moved over too close to the edge to avoid a plow truck. lost control and hit a utility pole, and rolled her jeep on it's side. She broke her neck, but should recover. Right now she is staying with us.. and it's a good thing because with the snow there is no way we would have gotten down to visit her ect. at this time..

Finished doing some more snow shoveling...after the plows came through they dumped a ton more of the white crap back on the driveway apron. I did it just to make it easier to get out to work tomorrow.

Whoa, mojo for your MIL!!
