I always liked a mixed bag of music. In the USAF I once roomed with a good ol'Texas cowboy and a black Baptist preacher and me, a reformed hippie. We shared music playtime on the stereo. Homestead is made up of a cross section of people too, o I listened to all kinds iof music. I think Marcus inspired the Music Minutes. I know BillH will try to re-route it.

Good Morning CGs!

Bags are packed and I'm ready to go. Already got rugrat #2 up and washed and dressed. Typical, us men waiting for the women to get up and ready to go. Flight leaves in a few hours so I need to get out of here soon. Freedom for a couple of days, so it should be nice.

Wife broke her toe yesterday morning. She was running through the garage and stubbed it on a box on the floor. Said the pain shot up through her whole leg. Went to the doctor and it's a hairline fracture, the toe next to the pinky (the ring toe??? lol). She'll just have to ice it for a bit, some pain pills, and what I told her - stop wearing those gdamn flip-flops. I hate those things. Wear real shoes and this won't happen.

Maybe when I get home I can tinker with the car...yeah, right.

Hope everyone has a great day!

Matthew

Greetings! We went to a wake last night, and it was almost like a class reunion - saw several people I hadn't seen for 30 years. Good lawd, they've gotten old - sure glad I haven't changed.

Toe mojo for your Mrs., Matt - I hate those damn flip-flops, too.

Enjoy your day, Gurus!

If that was my wife..... Only kidding hon!

Flip Flops! The greatest invention in the world. Probably the oldest shoe known to man. You can thank the Egyptians and then the Japanese and American Servicemen for bringing the Japanese Zori home after the war. Now a western phenomenon known as the Flip Flop!

I was reading about this new buggy in Car & Driver last night, kind of a Bentley Nomad:

I'd buy one if I won the lotto, but since our state is shut down, I can't buy a ticket.

Morning guys.....man you are in rare form this morning. Makes me feel like I live in a pile of sh........aving cream. I think it's the national phenomenon, flip-flops. Kids wear them to school all year round -10* and snow on the ground, four or five kids are in flip-flops. Freaking idiots.

Hot here today...again.

When I broke my toe a few weeks ago the foot doc told me that flip flops keep him in business!

That's ok, I still wear them. That wasn't why I broke mine. BTW, still aches a bit 8 weeks later. Don't tell the missus.

Finally watched the movie Cars last night. Not too bad. I laughed a few times, cried a few times.

NASCAR is still dumb.

I''m defending the flip flops.

Ugh... this is my "Monday" at work.... drove the vette. Neighbor lady is hard up for cash and I happen to hate washing a car and mowing a yard. So... a gallon of milk and some soap for the store since she knew I was going, and $25 to boot and that's all taken care of. Car hasn't been that clean in 6 months. I keep blowing air conditioner fuses though. Seems the only problem I have with this whole mess. I'm guessing I have a wire either not tight or pinched?
sux as it's due to be 103 here today.

This mornings project was to clean the contacts on the C68 HVAC head. All done and works great. While I was in there I also cut out the stupid cassette holders in the center console storage. Altogether a good morning. Downside was it is so hot and humid I was sweating like a fountain and my glasses kept fogging up. But it was a project I had been putting off and no longer have to think about.

Finally done with the Summer Semester class I took. I might actually mess with the Vette tonight. I got a set of shorter valve covers from a CF member that arrived today. So now all I have to do if remove the AC compressor, Valve covers, spark plugs, rockers, pushrod guides then reverse..sounds like too much work already. I also got a set of rebuilt front calipers with new pads and rotors to install, right front is dragging a little causing lots of dust. Oh and I still have the latest .bin from Mick to burn to a chip and install.
It's 99 here today which means that it will be about 120 in the garage tonight. Dehydration here I come.

Hit the cold waters of Lake Michigan this morning at 6:45 am. Took 45 minutes to attach floatation collars and 30 minutes to pump air and adjust. Surfacing on the aft side of the recovery barge two guys are pissing off the side in the direction of my bubbles. Damn I should have known they were former Marines, they just don't know any better! Inspected a 32' hull and stren section that hit the pier during the storm yesterday. Pretty good day! Ears are giving me problems tonight.
