Put my papers in two days ago and the processing office got them today. I'm retiring about 18 months earlier than planned but what the heck. You only live once. If all goes we'll, I should be bringing in the New Year like a brand new year.

I plan to be participating in the family business on a part time basis after that. Wish me luck.

I've never been rich. Been poor a couple of times. We have no debt. I'll be getting about 64% of my current income for life plus little supplements here and there from my savings. Looks like I'll be a C4 kinda guy for long, hopefully long time. No C6s or C7s that I can see.

I didn't know you could plant natives. Is that legal as long as it's on the reservation?

I thought the same thing when I retired. Bought a c4 as a retirement gift to myself. After a few years I realized I could leave what little I had to the kids to fight over or I could buy a C6.

Enjoy retirement, its fun. (especially if your wife still works)

There are so many things I'd like to do. The main thing that stood in my way was having to work. I can work around the house and cars for the first few years just to get things the way I like it. Then of course as CC noted; A storm will come and I can start all over again. I've worked for 40 years straight with few breaks other than vacations. Time to take it easy a bit. Don't want my epitaph to read He was a real good worker. One thing I know for sure. I'll never be bored. I haven't been bored in long, long time. I've always wanted a peg board with outlined clean tools and jars with screws, nails and hardware in them.

I've been retired for the past few (3) years. Still go in daily but only manage family and friends accounts.

Retirement is great.

Congrats, Tom.

Congrats Tom. I'm 10-15 years out, but I'm running out of gas! I envy you.

Runner, are you good at managing investments? I know you are very interested, I can tell by your posts. Ever consider a C4 investment club? I'd be interested in something like that.

Excellent. We should start a new thread either in OT or C4 chat. I'm thinking small time here, since I'm not wealthy! If we can make a few bucks, it could pay for mods. What do you think, $500 buy in? I could do more than that, but I'm thinking about others. I'd be interested to hear your thoughts.

Like I said, we should start another thread, rather than stealing Tommy's thread. Sorry Tom.

You have great aspirations in life and I hope they come true. You should also get a metal detector so you can find nails and pennies at the beach to fill your jars.

C4 investments? Yes. We could all buy ZR1s and park them in the garage. Then in 20 years we'll sell them for 10 times what we paid. Brilliant!

Overheard conversation.

Did you see those babes over there?

Yup! I made a sweep past them even though my batteries are dead.

Do we still have more beer?

Enough to last us till lunchtime.

Let's go walk past them again.

Why not!

Got my official letter today accepting my early retirement. I'll be a free man on January 1st. 63 days to go. About 40 work days but who's counting. Called my mortgage company because I never got my final bill. They said I was paid off as of October 15th.

Thanks Don. I've had an equity line for many years now. Hope I never need it but it's there for an emergency. I tend to be very conservative (when it comes to finances) so I have back ups for the back ups.
